The CEO's Wife Is Super Charming-Chapter 316 - 313: Luck
"Tiana, let me do it."
Shawn Lyle hid in the corner, watching Tiana Harris finish paying, then hurried over in a rush.
"No need, Uncle Lyle, I’ve already paid." Tiana gave a slight smile, after all, she couldn’t show a sour face to everyone.
Hearing this, Shawn was taken aback, then put on a stern expression: "Didn’t I say to wait for Uncle to pay? You child!"
Such a reprimand made her feel grateful, truly lucky to have met Elliana Lyle’s family, they were all exceptionally good people.
Uncle Lyle treated her better than her own father; surely there was no better father in the whole world.
"Then let’s go, see your grandma."
In the hospital room, an elderly person with head wrapped, only a face exposed, was Tiana’s grandma.
Still in a coma, wearing a respiratory mask.
Tightly closed eyes showing no signs of life, making it heart-wrenching to watch.
Tiana couldn’t hold back and burst into tears, her eyes long dry and sore from crying for so long, now so emotional her eyes couldn’t even open.
The only relative in this world who cared for and loved her, the one who always smiled and said "come eat" to her.
Yet now lying here motionless.
She had planned to bring grandma over to live with her when she had money, had she known, she would’ve done it sooner to prevent this from happening.
Elliana’s room given to her was big and wide, enough for both of them to live.
Grandma, even at such an old age, lived alone farming, never got to enjoy life in her later years.
Her only hope now, her only wish, is for grandma to recover, to bring her to North City, and take care of her every day after finishing work.
Grandma loved cats, had many tabby cats at home, she remembered grandma liked sitting by the mud-walled house corner, holding a cat, with more cats squatting by her feet, watching the sunset, listening to the wind rustling the trees.
As a child, she asked grandma what she was thinking, grandma told her about missing someone, the one who made her cry for over twenty years until her eyes blurred.
That was her early passing grandpa, she used to cry with grandma back then, not understanding why, just cried if grandma cried.
Thinking of those times, she couldn’t hold back more, yet feared disturbing grandma’s recovery, didn’t dare make a sound.
Seeing this, Shawn Lyle felt deeply pained, such a kind-hearted girl, if he could have her, perhaps it would truly be his fortune.
He tentatively placed his hand on Tiana’s shoulder, then gently pulled her in closer.
"It’ll get better, Tiana, don’t be afraid, it’ll be okay."
"Mm..." Tiana trembled and softly responded.
The doctor told her if grandma doesn’t wake in two weeks, she’d never wake again, so she needed to take good care of grandma during this time.
Absolutely no accidents could happen to grandma.
"Alright, Tiana, you’ve not eaten all morning, you must be hungry. How about uncle takes you out for a meal? Your grandma is at the hospital, there are nurses, she’ll be alright." Shawn Lyle said, having driven for so long without a hot meal.
The girl didn’t even take him to eat upon arriving, he really wondered if he mattered to this girl.
She was also chatting away with someone and ignoring him, didn’t even know who she was chatting with. He originally wanted to check her phone after she fell asleep using Tiana’s fingerprint.
But it turned out Tiana’s phone required a password, didn’t even have fingerprint recognition.
