The CEO's Wife Is Super Charming-Chapter 359 - 356: Waiting
"Alright, Miss Liu, we can go out now." The maid still wore that smiling face, even her tone seemed like it was trained uniformly.
Only then did she stand up and walk straight to the door. Seeing a few bodyguards with sunglasses made her somewhat afraid, after all, they held things in their hands that could kill her at any moment.
Her steps moved slowly along the corridor; she didn’t even dare walk a bit faster, just afraid that those behind her might think she was trying to escape and shoot her.
In this anxious mood, she got into the elevator, followed by six people: two maids and four bodyguards.
With a ding, she arrived on the first floor.
This first-floor living room was so vast that it seemed to stretch endlessly, somewhat akin to the Bennett Family’s old house, but Mr. Bennett was one for simplicity, unlike the golden touch here everywhere.
Exquisitely large crystal chandeliers, judging by the luster, definitely not glass. One has to admit, indeed, this place is beautiful, every setup, even the floor, is very delicate.
This lets her know that this Brooke fellow is wealthy, not just ordinarily wealthy.
Blame her lack of knowledge for not finding out about these people; hence, she knows nothing about this Brooke fellow.
Moreover, she believes Brooke is an existence akin to a king; otherwise, he couldn’t have captured her.
"This way, Miss Liu," the maid thoughtfully guided her.
Leaving the living room, she arrived at the manor’s back garden. There were all kinds of flowers and a swimming pool; it seemed there was nothing she could think of that wasn’t there.
"Miss Liu, are you looking for something?" Seeing her looking around, the maid came up to her and asked.
"Where are they?" she asked.
"They?" The maid hesitated for a moment, then seemed to think of something, smiled and said, "Sir doesn’t allow them to leave their rooms; Miss Liu, you’re the first who can walk around a bit. You’ll definitely become the mistress of the manor in the future."
These words made her feel inexplicably nauseous, no matter how splendid the manor was, she wouldn’t linger, let alone become some mistress.
Looking at the surrounding layout, she confirmed the manor was definitely not in an urban area,
there were trees and mountains in the distance, so this must be a remote place.
In such a place, without transportation, trying to escape really was difficult.
The only thing she could do now was stay put and be wary of Brooke.
No matter what, she couldn’t possibly escape from so many people’s surveillance; her only hope was for Norman Bennett to come rescue her.
Norman Bennett must be very anxious now. It was her mistake for not listening to him; if she didn’t go out, nothing would have happened.
But thinking about the bodyguard killed in the elevator still made her feel terrified.
If she could safely leave, she swore never to go abroad again; perhaps the dangers she encountered made her develop such biases.
The danger was never these places, but certain dangerous people in these places.
She believed Brooke was surely a praised gentleman outside, whose demeanor and appearance could easily deceive those who don’t know him.
Indeed, one can know the face but not the heart.
Glancing around at the alert bodyguards everywhere, she had no mood to roam anymore; she’d rather stay in a small room, though not absolutely safe, at least without seeing these armed brawny men.
Relatively speaking, staying away from these people was safer. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
So she said, "I want to go back."
The maid smiled and said, "Alright, Miss Liu."
