The Conquerors Path-Chapter 1002 - 1000-My Land.
’With this, the first tier preparations are done.’
If things play well, the old vampire herself will be coming for me soon, though, based on how things will go, I have to play some cards close to the chest. Musing on these thoughts, I sent a message straight to Ralph. He would soon send the ones gathered around to set up all the structures needed.
Now, since I have a powerful backing in the scene of the way, it means I can, in earnest, start operating my faction, which is not a simple thing at all. I will need to bring people under me, build the structure of my faction, secure lands and power, gather powerful individuals, have my own followers, and gain strength that can match many such things.
In essence, my faction only exists on paper. Now with backing, I have the right to bring it into reality, meaning that, with such a veteran, powerful faction backing me up, I can go forward, start recruiting, creating structure, and start making promises in certain ways, though, as always, I will have pushback and problems.
And to deal with that, I will be getting help in the form of backup support from DarkNight, members who will help me create the overall structure and flow of things. They are going to think I am creating this as a control move from DarkNight anyway. Most think of this as a way for DarkNight trying to gain power within the war council itself, and many don’t want to see that happen.
In fact, when I got the ability even to create a faction, it was taken in as a joke, cause nobody even thought any faction would ever support me. If they did, they were planning on crushing or putting pressure on the faction supporting me, which won’t work now with such a veteran and powerful faction backing me up.
’Man... information spreads fast here.’
I mused at that thought, cause the moment I landed out of the elevator, I felt the eyes on my strength again, the focus as a whole coming down harder than before. Ever since I was here, I’ve been under surveillance by many people, but now it seems to have intensified. Cracks are meant to be present whenever they are.
So, I didn’t push any of it back, unfortunately. I took it all in stride as I walked forward, moving through the crowd, cutting through. Even though I hold the exalted position of a faction leader, right now in the eyes of the rest, it’s just a headless chicken clucking around that will soon die, cause there is no way at all that even with backing, I shall be able to survive the dangerous inner workings within the war council.
That would have been the case in normal situations, though right now several cracks had formed within the war council, the slap on the face shaking their unshakable position, which meant it brought opportunities that hadn’t been present before.
’A lot of people looking to jump ship right now.’
I internally mused. Before making my big move to slap the whole face of the war council, I had thought several things through. There are already several powers under the eyes of the war council that are tired of their arrogance and pressure. By contract, they can’t jump from the war council because of the many restrictions.
But that doesn’t mean they can’t jump ships from the factions they are held in. A new, young, developing, naive faction sounds like the best place for them to get bigger breathing space and feel more powerful. The only issue so far was that I looked like a house of cards, easy to topple, so no one wanted to step in.
But now, I look more like a robust house of cards. Getting this backing would mean a whole lot of opportunities for me to handle, and here, gaining that power isn’t just about having members. A bigger faction gets a larger say in the flow of the world economy, power, restrictions within them, more support, and access to certain resources that only the war council can provide, and several other benefits like protection, too.
’Though to others’ eyes my protection might seem quite empty now.’
There’s no way around that, either, ’cause it’s the truth in itself. Being the newer faction that I am, there are scarcely any members at all, so the only way to grow or attach in itself is to have now powerful members joining me. There are, in fact, several powerful Imperials that remain not attached to factions, unwilling to join any of them.
Then again, how am I supposed to move them when the others weren’t able to?
I inwardly smiled at that question in itself, but with the resources and things I have, things are playing a whole different ball game right now.
So with quick steps, I rushed onto one of the attached teleportation centres to leave Vixuola’s territory and arrive in the central locations, this being more of a receptionist area-like room. My eyes opened up to a room itself, as I, giving a nod to the mage, left the room, getting outside into a vast—and I am telling you, a big—hall.
Several species are moving about, several receptionists are spread, and large numbers of people are waiting in line. Since this was the building’s area for legal and other functions, I didn’t hesitate as I walked toward the VIP area, which was enclosed within another area. Several guards stood outside it, reaching in front. I flashed a badge at them, and with a nod, they let me in.
Entering inside, it was a whole other world. There were fewer people, and the whole ambient mana in here is stunning, riffling it in. The moment I walked in, a woman, a human woman, walked in front of me as she asked.
"Welcome, sir. Do you perhaps have a booking?"
"Indeed. It’s a meeting to settle on my location base."
I said so as I produced a certain document bearing a special seal, which was quickly verified.
"Please, this way, Lord Rex."
"Thanks."
I gave the response as an elven woman took the lead, a gentle smile on her face. I walked behind her as she led me through this vast hall into a hallway, moving through different rooms as we reached a certain doorway. Its essence shining out as she opened the door for me, it being a connected door.
"Please, this way."
With that, she walked through as I followed along with her, soon appearing on a vast land. The moment I came in, my eyes landed on grey tough land. My eyes were watching out as I saw the vast greyish trees spread around, and with my senses, I also sensed a bit of high corruption energy within this place.
As far as the eye can see, there was just sparse vegetation. The land was rough. For a long while, it was just plain land, stuck between, just a door that connects to this region.
"You are lucky, Lord Rex. This is one of the most vast lands left unacquired by any leaders within the vast war council’s land. It’s now yours."
’Well, playing dirty is indeed normal.’
I thought, just avoiding the words the elven woman said with a smile on her face. Each leader gets their own lands within the war council lands to build their faction. It’s vast, and bigger than empires combined. Special lands that connect to powerful cracks, and right now I am standing in one of those lands that isn’t mostly used at all due to its proximity to such a large crack—some far, far away, but still bad.
"It’s a beautiful place."
I replied, my words making the elven woman’s smile twitch. I had expected such dirty plays long ago in itself, cause I might have gotten the title, but it’s an empty title.
"So, I assume you are happy with the land then?" 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
"Yes, it’s all good,"
I replied.
"Then, please sign here to accept this as the land under your name. Once done, all the legal procedures will be completed within the hour."
"Sure."
Saying so, I took the document, signed it, and also pasted it with my unique mana signature, binding it to me. The elven woman’s smile only got wider at my actions, no doubt promising some good reward for getting me to do this.
"Um... do you require anything else, Lord Rex?"
"Nothing, you can leave for now. I shall stay for some time here."
"Okay."
She said before running away. Even the place feels a bit more creepy to her. Once she was gone, I was the only one left as I smiled. To me, any land would have become the perfect land. With the money I have and the connections I have, building something grand in here won’t be hard. Hard work will make this a place to thrive.
’But would building life be hard for the Prince of Life?’
With that thought, the idea began to take shape.
