Chapter 323: Chapter 323: She Hasn’t Had a Baby With Him Yet

The voice of the Black Eagle grew heavier, as if pressing down on one’s heart.

"We all don’t want to die."

No beast wants to die, so even if it means risking danger, they still want to rob the Empire.

Hope was right in front of them, and they couldn’t muster a bit of calculation.

"The plants you handled seem to have extremely magical power."

"At least, they’re not poisonous."

Whether or not it had magical power, they didn’t care.

But if it could be eaten and fill the stomach, that was what they needed.

The feeling of hunger was truly unbearable, sometimes when hungry, some Exotic Beasts would even self-harm, trying to use pain to disperse that hunger.

Speaking up to here, the Black Eagle swallowed a mouthful of saliva.

It had been hungry for three days.

Although it was also one of the leaders, it only received one Nutritional Supplement per week.

That Nutritional Supplement was given to the newborn cub next door, so this week, it had been hungry all along.

Though the Black Eagle was already accustomed to hunger, when it came crashing down overwhelmingly, it still made it feel uncomfortable, even distressing.

And now, with another possibility before it, how could it willingly give up?

Su Ruan stared intently at the Black Eagle, without speaking.

She could sense the Black Eagle in front didn’t harbor malice, but her ability was too special, and she wasn’t sure if these Exotic Beasts, once they knew, would imprison her here.

The Black Eagle saw Su Ruan’s calm expression and cautiously asked, "Are you concerned about something?"

Su Ruan pursed her lips.

"Please come with me," the Black Eagle said again.

It turned around and walked in a direction.

Su Ruan thought for two seconds and followed.

Half an hour later, Su Ruan looked at the towering stone gate before her, eyes flickering.

"What is this?"

"A Star Gate," the Black Eagle explained to her, "It opens twice a year, the next opening is in two months."

"The Star Gate leads directly to the Empire Planet, but the landing location is uncertain."

"We got to the Empire through this Star Gate."

Su Ruan nodded thoughtfully.

She now knew a bit about the Empire.

The Empire wasn’t particularly troubled by the Insect Race; what troubled them were these Exotic Beasts.

The appearance time and place of the Exotic Beasts were uncertain, and they couldn’t predict when the Exotic Beasts would appear.

The Empire probably didn’t expect that not only could they not predict, but even the Exotic Beasts themselves didn’t know.

This Star Gate looked like a random teleportation array, able to transport these Exotic Beasts to the Empire.

Su Ruan’s long eyelashes fluttered, "You brought me here for what?"

The Black Eagle walked to the left of the stone gate and clawed at something.

A few minutes later, a black stone the size of a fist appeared under its claw.

"This is the core of this planet."

The Black Eagle handed the black stone to Su Ruan.

"By controlling it, you control us."

The Black Eagle lowered its head, reverent and loyal.

"Please, save us."

Su Ruan picked up the black stone.

Instantly, a surge of power rushed into her palm, devouring her spiritual power, and seemingly devouring her body.

Darkness engulfed her.

Someone was crying, a tender male voice continuously crying.

Su Ruan walked in the darkness, following the sound, moving forward relentlessly.

Not knowing how long she walked, a faint light appeared ahead.

She saw a small boy, about five years old, entirely black, except for a hint of green on the tips of his hair; the rest almost blended into the darkness.

"Hello," Su Ruan softly said, "Little one, stop crying."

The little boy stopped crying when he heard the unfamiliar voice, turning to look at her.

"Are you here to save me?" he asked, full of hope.

Su Ruan shook her head, sitting down somewhat confused, "I don’t know how to save you."

The little boy’s eyes showed a trace of disappointment.

"I’m about to die," he said gloomily, pointing to the tips of his hair, "When this bit of green turns black, I’ll die."

Large tears fell from his eyes without warning, and the little boy cried heartbrokenly.

"I don’t want to die."

"Can you please save me?"

Su Ruan sat down, spreading her hand open, her fingers slender, fingertips tinged with a hint of pink.

But her palm was empty.

Her mind was blank, remembering nothing.

Her heart felt as though a piece was missing, fingers twitching slightly, as if trying to grasp something.

But she could only watch as that darkness engulfed her fingertips.

"I can’t save you," she heard herself say softly, "I am also about to be consumed by the darkness."

The little boy looked at Su Ruan in disbelief, "How can this be?"

His eyes widened, the light in them dimming bit by bit.

The darkness grew thicker, churning with a dangerous aura.

Su Ruan watched quietly as the darkness engulfed her fingertips, spreading to her palm, then gradually reaching her arm.

It then reached the position of her heart.

Ravenous yet exceptionally thrilled, wanting to devour her heart.

Su Ruan lowered her gaze gently, then suddenly raised her hand, catching a piece of that darkness before her heart.

"But I don’t want to die."

Her voice carried a trace of coolness.

"I haven’t had little ones with him yet."

"I don’t want to die."

Who was he? She couldn’t remember.

But there must be a him, occupying the most important place in her heart.

For that darkness to covet him in her heart meant...

Destruction.

Blood mist churned in her eyes, as Su Ruan slowly raised her eyes, fingertips grinding, tearing the darkness apart.

In an instant, light burst forth.

The darkness receded, leaving a blank space around one meter wide.

Yet they still eyed hungrily, as if ready to pounce at any moment.

The little boy on the opposite side looked at Su Ruan in shock, then suddenly said joyfully, "You can surely save me!"

"I am the core of Wood Peach Star."

"Wood Peach Star has been polluted. As long as you remove the black mist from all the plants on this planet, I will return to normal."

The little boy suddenly stood, bowing respectfully to Su Ruan.

"Offering all my loyalty to you."

A gleam of green light shot from the little boy’s brow, slowly drifting to Su Ruan’s fingertips.

Without needing her to do anything, that gleam of green entered Su Ruan’s body.

The darkness twisted, roaring, unwilling.

In front of the Star Gate, Su Ruan slowly opened her eyes.

She could feel this planet was under her control. If she willed it, every rustle of wind or grass here could be known to her, not to mention these Exotic Beasts.

The Black Eagle across from her lowered its head, repeating endlessly in its mouth, "Please save us."

Su Ruan gently clenched the black stone in her palm, the tips of her fingers vaguely burning.

In the distance, dust rose, hinting at a tall figure running towards her.

Su Ruan looked at that familiar figure and chuckled softly.

"Alright."
