Chapter 173: Chapter 144: The Mo Family’s Collection of Medical Arts

"Mo’s Acrobatics"

Lan Tian had never read this book, and it was not a part of the Mo Clan’s collection that Mo Yuanle had collected; it must have been one of the books that Mr. Mo took away with him.

Looking momentarily, she then withdrew her gaze, retrieved tea leaves from her Sleeve Universe, and since there was still charcoal in the nearby stove, she took the Purple Sand Pot from the tea table, added water to heat it. After the water boiled, she washed the teaware and then made tea, soon filling the room with the refreshing aroma of tea.

Just as the tea was ready, Mr. Mo finished reading his book. Upon seeing the young lady sitting opposite him, he was momentarily startled, "When did you return, girl?"

Mr. Mo looked weary, rubbing his brow and gradually his features relaxed.

"Just got back," Lan Tian poured a cup of Spiritual Tea for him and took one for herself as well, sipping slowly, "I saw you were engrossed in the book and didn’t want to disturb you."

Mr. Mo took a sip of the tea thoughtfully.

Lan Tian lowered her gaze, holding the white porcelain teaware in both hands, the orange light illuminating the green tea water, creating layers of ripples. Lan Tian took a sip and glanced through the rim of the cup at Mr. Mo sitting opposite her, speaking indifferently, "What kind of city is Beijing?"

Mr. Mo had regained his usual gentle demeanor and looked up at Lan Tian, "Beijing, ah, it has many interesting places, renowned sites, palaces, and temples. You should take a good look next time you go to Beijing."

Lan Tian made a noncommittal noise but did not continue the conversation, glancing at Mr. Mo and then falling silent for a while before finally saying, "Was everything smooth for you in Beijing?"

They both understood what ’smooth’ meant—Mr. Mo’s trip to Beijing was for medical consultations, and the fact that he stayed for more than half a year implied that the patient’s condition was not optimistic. Now that he was back, could it be that the patient’s situation had improved?

"Not very optimistic, we can only strive to keep it from deteriorating."

Mr. Mo looked somber; returning home, his intention was to search the medical texts for possible solutions. A spark of intelligence flickered in his eyes when he caught the content expression of the young lady from the corner of his eye.

The young lady was skilled in medicine and had unique insights, especially with rare and strange illnesses. The patient’s condition could also be considered a strange illness. Asking the young lady might yield unexpected results.

Mr. Mo was about to inquire, but Grandpa Lin came up to call them for dinner. They both stood up and went downstairs, with Mr. Mo deciding in his heart to ask the young lady tomorrow.

During dinner, the whole Mo Family chatted while eating. Mr. Mo shared amusing stories from Beijing, and Lan Tian talked about how the New Year was spent in the countryside, making the meal warm and heartfelt.

After dinner, Granny Lin told Lan Tian to go back to her room and rest after a day’s travel, dusty and weary from the journey. Second Aunt Lin helped carry Lan Tian’s parcels to her room, and ordered someone to send hot water for her.

After washing up, Lan Tian organized the things from her Sleeve Universe, took out several potted plants she brought from home, and placed them in a corner of the room. She checked to make sure nothing was forgotten and went to bed.

She slept until daylight and went to the hall after washing up. Lin Guohao and his brothers had already gone to the hospital, Mr. Mo was having tea at the teahouse, and Granny Lin had breakfast waiting for Lan Tian on the stove in the kitchen.

Lan Tian did not have the habit of sitting and waiting for food. Since everyone in the house was busy and she had nothing to do, she leisurely made her way to the kitchen. Aunt Lin, who was sweeping snow in the courtyard, saw Lan Tian heading to the kitchen, quickly threw down her broom, and ushered Lan Tian out.

"Miss Lan Tian, the kitchen is messy, don’t go in. Sit here and I’ll get you breakfast."

Lan Tian had no choice but to sit by the dining table. Aunt Lin soon brought the breakfast over, several dishes including rice porridge, steamed buns, soy milk, and eggs. Lan Tian took the porridge and began to eat.

"Mr. Mo is at the teahouse. He seems to have something to discuss with you after you finish your breakfast," Aunt Lin said while serving the breakfast.

Lan Tian nodded, "I’ll go there later."

Holding the porridge bowl, Lan Tian wondered to herself what business Mr. Mo could have with her so early in the morning.

After breakfast, Lan Tian went to the teahouse. Mr. Mo was still there, looking at the "Mo Family Circus" medical book from yesterday. Hearing the sound at the door, he looked up.

"Girl, come sit," Mr. Mo gestured to the chair opposite him. Lan Tian sat down and noticed the water boiling in the stove pot. She then took a canister of tea leaves from her bag and began to make tea.

Mr. Mo’s gaze moved away from the book and lingered on Lan Tian, especially the tea leaf canister, "This tea seems different from the ones we usually drink!"

Lan Tian glanced at Mr. Mo and spoke lightly, "There’s no difference, it’s the same as before."

Mr. Mo was merely using the topic of tea to start the conversation, of course, the tea was somewhat different from the past.
