Chapter 103: Agares Absolute Command

"My child?" asked Agares.

With a shocked face, Agares’s eyes stayed fixed on his hands. He never expected that Milenia would be pregnant with his child.

He didn’t remember the moment they made love, but a woman who’s pregnant would never lie about who the father is.

’If I do the math, it is possible Milenia got pregnant because of me... The timing of the conception fits.’

Agares hadn’t paid attention to this before—he was too busy thinking about dungeon exploration.

"Yes," said Milenia.

Aoi jumped up happily on Agares’s shoulder. She understood what pregnancy meant because her parents had explained it to her before as part of early sexual education.

"Does that mean I’ll have a sibling?" asked Aoi, surprising Agares and making Milenia chuckle softly.

"That’s right. You’re going to have a sibling, Aoi."

"YEAAAY!"

"Aoi."

Agares asked Aoi to leave Milenia’s room for a moment. There was something he needed to discuss with Milenia, something related to her pregnancy and the possibility that she wouldn’t be able to explore the dungeon with him anymore.

Aoi was silent at first, then cleared her throat and agreed. She knew the two of them needed to have a serious talk about the situation. Aoi didn’t want to interrupt.

The door closed tightly, leaving only Agares and Milenia. Agares still stood in front of Milenia’s bed, looking at her seriously.

"What is it?" asked Milenia.

"If that’s really my child, then they could be in danger."

"You don’t need to worry. I’ll hide your identity."

Agares went silent. Even though Milenia was determined to do that, there would always be a risk that someone would find out.

’If I think back... Milenia hasn’t had her period for the last two months. That makes sense now—because she’s pregnant.’

"Now that people in the city will see you’re pregnant, what will you say if they ask who the father is?"

"I’ll say it’s you."

"Me?"

"Yes. I’ll call you Rey."

"Why Rey?"

"It’s just a random name that came to my mind."

"I’ll explain who you are and make up your background. Also, I’ll say your class and job are different from Agares’s," explained Milenia.

"Will they believe it?"

"Of course. I’m the ruler of the city—they’ll listen to me."

Agares didn’t have any more questions. Milenia had already answered everything. The chances that he was the father were very high.

A sense of relief filled his heart. The worry and anxiety about Milenia’s and the baby’s safety faded.

Agares had to make sure nobody knew that the baby was his—otherwise, something far worse could happen.

He walked slowly to the side of Milenia’s bed and reached out his hand. Sitting on a wooden chair, he gently held Milenia’s hand with his left and rubbed her belly with his right.

Their eyes met with warmth and gratitude—especially Milenia’s. She had waited a long time to truly feel like a woman. Now, she was ready to start a new life as a mother.

Carrying Agares’s baby in her womb, she would do everything to protect, care for, and raise the child according to their hopes.

"You won’t be able to come with me to explore the dungeon."

"I know, Agares. I’ll stay home and take good care of the baby."

"I’ll come back every time I conquer 10 floors."

"I understand. Take care of yourself. I believe you can defeat the monsters and bosses all the way to floor 80."

Agares nodded in agreement, silently promising to return and check on Milenia. Early pregnancy could have a big effect on her mental state.

’A mother’s bad mental health could also affect her baby. I won’t let that happen.’

He and Milenia shared a short kiss—just a quick one to celebrate the news. Their eyes stayed locked on each other. Milenia wrapped her arms around Agares’s neck.

"Take care of yourself, Agares."

"You too, Milenia. Stay healthy for our child," said Agares, smiling as he gently tucked her hair behind her ear.

"I’ll be back soon."

Milenia cleared her throat. Agares quickly asked her to get some rest and not to think about anything else besides her condition. Milenia nodded and fell asleep under the blanket Agares placed over her.

Agares stayed by her side until she was fully asleep. Then, he quietly got up and left the room.

Outside, he saw the maid, the healer, and Aoi waiting silently. As soon as Agares stepped out, they turned their attention to him.

"How is she?" asked Aoi.

Agares smiled, crouched, and reached his hand out to the side. Aoi walked onto his arm and climbed back to his shoulder. His focus turned straight ahead.

"She’s sleeping. I think she needs full rest to recover," Agares said to the healer.

"I’ll make some medicine to help her get stronger and heal faster."

He nodded. His eyes turned to the maid, who had an important role in taking care of Milenia’s safety.

Agares knew a few foods that were good for pregnant women—especially in early pregnancy. He wanted to give clear instructions to the maids about what Milenia should eat.

"Serve vegetables and fruits like spinach, broccoli, carrots, also avocado, bananas, oranges, papaya, and so on. Make sure she eats chicken every day for the baby’s nutrition."

"We understand, Sir."

"Give all the city ruler’s duties to Goro. For now, Milenia will focus on her condition."

"Yes, Sir."

"Don’t let anyone visit Milenia. Keep the news about her pregnancy private."

"Understood, Sir!"

"Why are you being so strict about her pregnancy? Isn’t Ms. Milenia just normally pregnant?" asked the healer.

Agares slowly glanced to the side, his eyes fixed on the demonkin healer. Luckily for him, she didn’t recognize him, thanks to the earring he wore.

’If I wasn’t wearing this earring, she might have recognized my face and figured out whose baby Milenia is carrying.’

"Because Milenia and the baby inside her are important to me!"

"Ah, you’re right."

Agares looked forward again, facing the maids and guards who had gathered to check on Milenia’s condition. He was ready to give them one absolute command—one they must follow no matter what.

"I’ll stay overnight and leave for the dungeon tomorrow. I’ll be back in one or two months."

"Make sure you all take good care of Milenia and my child!" said Agares firmly.

"Yes, Sir!"
