The Dark Extra: Awakening of SSS-Skill Demon Emperor Legacy-Chapter 98: Milenia Ultimate Ice Power
Chapter 98: Milenia Ultimate Ice Power
Milenia stepped closer to the monster while activating her magic. Agares could feel her power becoming more terrifying.
If he didn’t protect himself by maximizing his strength, he would also be affected by the ice.
He channeled his dark energy into the blade, summoning the projection of the Dark God with bat wings.
With its two wings, the god wrapped Agares’s body, shielding him temporarily.
Although Agares still took damage, it wasn’t as much as it would have been without using the Saber Abyssal Ward skill.
As time passed, Milenia’s power became even stronger. They couldn’t see what was happening outside, but Agares was sure Milenia was fighting the mini-boss.
The HP of the mini-boss Solar Hofling dropped drastically, a sign that Milenia was attacking it directly to get her revenge.
There was nothing Agares could do—he could only wait until Milenia was finished.
"Will Milenia be okay?" Aoi asked, looking worried.
"She’ll be okay."
The HP of Solar Hofling completely ran out, showing that Milenia had defeated it by herself.
Agares activated one of his skills to see what was happening ahead, and he was shocked to see Milenia killing the monster so brutally.
The monster’s arms and legs were cut off, its heart ripped out, its head severed, and its body torn apart by power filled with anger and ambition.
The battle was over, but Milenia was still trapped in her rage.
"Milenia?" Agares called out.
Milenia reflexively turned around. Her eyes glowed icy blue as she looked at Agares. But instead of approaching him, she raised her hand and aimed an ice magic attack at him.
"What?!"
Agares swung his sword, Shadepiercer, to block every ice spike Milenia sent. But her strength was overwhelming.
He ran around the room, trying to find an opening to get closer to her. He suspected that the anger in Milenia’s heart was clouding her thoughts.
She couldn’t tell friend from foe. Everything she saw right now was an enemy. Agares had to find a way to stop the flow of her magic—before the mini-boss’s cooldown ended.
I can’t use my third skill to stop her. That would kill her.
Out of options, Agares stopped circling and focused on the center of the room. He channeled his dark energy into Shadepiercer, swinging the sword vertically, horizontally, and diagonally toward Milenia.
All of this was only to block her ice spikes so he could get close enough to reach her.
"Milenia! Wake up!" he shouted.
But the more he attacked, the more his mana was drained. In the end, the dark energy in his sword faded, and Agares was thrown back, crashing into the wall.
"Ugh!"
Aoi was just as injured. She passed out near Agares, who now sat slumped against the dungeon wall.
When Agares lifted his head, he was shocked to see Milenia approaching. Her dress had changed into a beautiful ice gown. Her power had increased many times over.
Each of her steps froze the ground beneath her, creating a cold, chilling path. She kept walking toward Agares, manifesting her ice magic into a rapier sword.
She reached out and grabbed Agares by the throat. In her hand, the Ice Rapier was pointed directly at his left chest.
Before stabbing, Milenia looked closely at Agares’s face. Despite the blood, she could still see what he looked like—and what his hands were like.
"Are you the one who pulled me?" Milenia asked. It wasn’t the real Milenia speaking, but the form of her trauma, hatred, rage, and despair.
"What do you mean?"
"You’re the one who jumped in just to pull me out of the sea of despair, right?"
"I don’t know what you’re talking about."
Milenia’s glowing blue eyes narrowed. Even so, she showed a softer side.
She made the Ice Rapier vanish and gently wiped the blood off Agares’s face, letting her see his face clearly.
Yes. Milenia remembered now. The man in front of her was the one who had saved her from the abyss of despair.
His large, rough hands—it was him. Milenia remembered everything because it mattered so much to her.
Agares had saved her.
Slowly, the ice began to melt, and warmth returned. Agares saw her power starting to fade. He didn’t know exactly what was happening, but he was sure of one thing.
Milenia was no longer afraid of her trauma. The mini-boss that killed her friends had been defeated by her own hands. She had finally let out all the anger she’d held.
The icy blue light in her eyes faded and disappeared. Milenia collapsed into Agares’s arms, releasing her grip on his throat and making the Ice Rapier vanish.
"Milenia?" Agares called.
He hugged her close, looking at her face from up close. He gave a small smile. Yes, he was hurt from her attacks—but it had led to something far more meaningful.
He saw she was recovering and now sleeping peacefully, likely a deep sleep after using all her strength.
He looked down and saw Aoi still unconscious, injured from Milenia’s earlier attacks.
"Today really took me by surprise."
Agares looked forward and saw that the boss’s respawn cooldown still had about 20 minutes left. The ice had melted, and the tension had disappeared. Agares had nothing to worry about now.
He placed Aoi gently on top of Milenia’s body, then lifted Milenia in his arms and walked out of the boss room.
With her trauma and hatred overcome, it would be easier for them to fight side by side again.
The hallway doors opened. Agares stepped through and sat Milenia down on the dungeon hallway floor, resting her against the wall.
He sat in front of her, still hurting, blood still dripping from the wound on his head.
"That attack really hurt," he muttered.
He tapped his magic pouch and pulled out two HP potions. Without thinking, he drank both and tossed the empty bottles aside.
"I don’t know what’s going to happen next, but I have to stay alert."
If Milenia falls into that state again... I might die.
