The Destiny Villainess Wants Me To Work!-Chapter 74: Superpowers?!
Since he couldn’t give her a proper explanation, Su Mo chose not to explain at all.
The entire situation was a mess created by the system. Even he barely understood what was happening, so how could he possibly make someone else understand it? Trying to justify himself would only dig a deeper hole.
So instead, he took the simplest route.
"I have nothing to do with Wang Cai or whatever he did to you," Su Mo said calmly.
Leng Shuang stared at him with cold suspicion.
Her sharp eyes studied his expression, searching for the slightest hint of deception. Years of living in the underworld had honed her instincts. Lies, hesitation, fear—she could usually read them instantly.
But Su Mo’s face showed none of those things.
Still, that didn’t mean she believed him.
"Why should I believe you?" she asked coldly.
Su Mo sighed inwardly. Dealing with stubborn people really was troublesome.
"Believe it or not, that’s the truth," he said with a helpless shrug.
Then he stepped forward.
"According to our deal, I’ll let you go now. In exchange, whatever you do in the future, don’t come bothering me again. Is that clear?"
Leng Shuang snorted softly.
She didn’t believe him for even a second.
People like them didn’t make deals out of kindness. And men like him certainly didn’t capture someone only to release them afterwards. There had to be some hidden motive.
Yet when Su Mo reached out and touched the metal restraints binding her...
*Click.*
The tight bands suddenly loosened.
A moment later, they fell apart entirely.
Leng Shuang blinked in surprise.
The pressure restraining her wrists disappeared. Blood flowed freely through her numb arms again.
She slowly stood up, slightly unsteady from being tied up for so long, and stared at him blankly.
’He... actually kept his word?’
Her mind couldn’t quite process it.
She had already prepared herself for further interrogation, torture, even death. But none of that happened.
Instead, this man had simply... released her.
Because she felt no immediate danger from him, Leng Shuang didn’t rush to leave. She remained standing there, watching him carefully and testing him.
"If you think these little actions will change my impression of you," she said coldly, "then your thinking is very naïve."
The next moment, a powerful killing intent burst out from her body. The temperature in the room seemed to drop instantly. Her sharp gaze locked onto Su Mo like a blade.
"Aren’t you afraid of my revenge?" she continued slowly. "You should know... if I want to, I can kill you right now and walk out of here."
Her voice carried absolute confidence.
After all, from her perspective, Su Mo was just an ordinary rich man with some connections to the Yang family’s heiress.
If she wanted to kill him, it would only take a second. Yet the reaction she expected never came.
Su Mo didn’t panic. Nor did he call for help. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
He simply stood there and looked at her calmly. Those deep eyes showed no fear at all.
For a brief moment, Leng Shuang felt her heart tremble. A strange chill crept up her spine.
It felt... eerie.
’No.’
’It’s just my imagination.’
She immediately pushed that feeling aside.
At that moment, Su Mo finally spoke. "You are too weak for that."
His voice was calm. There was no mockery or sarcasm in his tone. It sounded less like an insult and more like... a simple statement of fact. As if he were merely stating an objective evaluation.
Leng Shuang’s brows furrowed.
"You don’t believe me?" Su Mo said when he noticed the doubt in her eyes.
He rubbed his chin thoughtfully. ’Maybe... I should scare her a little.’
If she truly believed he was weak, there’s a high chance she would try to attack him sooner or later. That would just create unnecessary trouble.
Better to crush that idea now.
With that thought, Su Mo prepared to show a little strength.
He raised his leg, intending to stomp the ground and create a dramatic display. But halfway through the motion, he suddenly froze.
’...Wait.’
’If I stomp too hard, I might cause a small earthquake in the villa.’
’That would definitely wake everyone up.’
Su Mo immediately lowered his leg.
’Forget it.’
’Let’s try the new technique.’
Under Leng Shuang’s puzzled gaze, Su Mo casually raised his right hand and pointed his index finger at the wall.
"Watch this."
Leng Shuang frowned slightly.
’What was he doing?’
Before she could figure it out, Something beyond her understanding happened.
A small swirl of energy suddenly gathered at the tip of Su Mo’s finger.
It condensed rapidly, forming a tiny, spinning sphere. Then—
*Bang!*
The energy shot forward like a bullet.
It slammed into the wall with a thunderous explosion.
Dust and debris burst outward.
When the smoke cleared, a massive crater nearly two meters wide had been blasted into the solid wall.
Sharp cutting marks surrounded the impact point, showing just how terrifyingly sharp that attack had been.
Silence filled the room.
Su Mo scratched his cheek awkwardly.
"Oops... that was still kind of loud," he muttered. "I hope nobody heard that."
Meanwhile, Leng Shuang stood completely frozen with her eyes wide.
Her brain had stopped working. She stared at the destroyed wall, then slowly turned to look at Su Mo. Then back at the wall.
Her entire worldview felt like it had just been smashed apart.
"What... was that...?" she murmured weakly. "Superpowers?"
Su Mo heard her and shrugged. "You could think of it that way."
He studied her stunned expression and felt that maybe the demonstration still wasn’t convincing enough.
So he walked closer.
Leng Shuang didn’t even react. She was still stuck in the middle of an existential crisis.
Su Mo gently grabbed her injured hand. Only then did she snap back to reality.
Her body instinctively tried to pull away—but she suddenly stopped.
A strange warmth spread through her hand.
Soft white light flowed from Su Mo’s fingers. The pain in her broken fingers began fading instantly.
Right before her eyes, the twisted bones began shifting back into place. The cracked joints healed, and the swelling disappeared. Within seconds, her hand was completely restored to normal.
When Su Mo released her hand, Leng Shuang remained staring at it in disbelief. Her mouth hung open slightly. Her brain was still trying to catch up.
