Chapter 245: Two Devils

Malika’s lips quivered as she opened her mouth to state her choice, she could feel her heart pounding against her ribcage, and every drumming echo in her ear retained hysteria.

Her legs wobbled weakly beneath her skirt as she forced the words clogging her throat to spew out.

Before she could spit the words out, he interrupted "You still have time to decide, until then you’ll make your choice."

She almost sighed in relief as he spoke, calming her racing heart down, but it was only a matter of time before she would have to decide, and thankfully she had enough time to think things through.

Then, the realization that she had no choice even though he made it seem like she did hit her. If she failed to conform to his wishes, she would be a lost cause but if she did as he wanted, then there would be hope.

"Why do you want the entity released?" The words suddenly rolled off her tongue as she blabbed out her thoughts.

Immediately his eyes narrowed down to her with a smoldering intensity, she suddenly regretted carelessly spouting out the question.

"The only thing you should worry about is fulfilling your end of the bargain, that is of course if you accept my offer. I won’t force you, after all, everyone has the right to make a choice." He remarked, a sly smirk curling the edge of his lips up, but it was as empty as his soulless eyes.

He made it seem as though she had a choice to make, but in reality, there was no choice. There was either death or his offer, he was coercing her forcefully into doing his bidding while wearing the mask of pretense as if he was giving her a choice to choose from.

But there wasn’t any, he wasn’t luring her with her desires, he was threatening her and manipulating her with fear to do his will. She knew better but she was also aware that she had no choice, there was no saving her from this precarious situation, the only one that could either save or destroy her was herself and no one else.

"As if I have a choice." She muttered under her breath to herself. She wasn’t enjoying any single bit of their encounter, every passing breath the world took only plunged her into a haze of obscurity and a path of imperilment.

"I’ll be back soon, until then." Lucifer said with a nod, his voice echoing in an airy whisper as he shifted backward until his form disappeared into the darkness. A vortex of dark shadows enveloped his form with sparks of hellish flames blending into the shadows until he disappeared back to the infernal realm of the underworld.

Staggering with trembling legs into the room, she slumped down on the bed, it felt as though merely encountering the devil had depleted her energy, the way his golden orbs had pierced into her eyes felt as though he was peering into the depths of her soul while sucking out her energy.

His shadowy presence left a trail of malevolent energy surging through the air, even as he was gone, goosebumps still manifested on her skin as she felt his presence.

She was scared by the offer he gave her, it frightened her to the marrow of her bones and it made a shiver cascade down her spine when she thought of it.

She had no idea what the devil was scheming, and why on earth he would want her to release an undoubtedly sinister entity into the world. She pondered hard about his mysterious aim, but she couldn’t figure out the slightest hint of what he was plotting in that devious mind of his.

Refusal to accept his offer was an apparent suicide affirmation, it was a hassle to even think of what would occur if she denied him what he wanted, he wouldn’t hesitate to tear her open and do the same to Zamiel.

Zamiel was powerful, but his strength was incomparable to Lucifer’s, she was well aware he wouldn’t hold a candle to him in battle and to make odds of the situation, the devil was immortal and invincible, whereas, Zamiel was not.

Her mood turned incredibly sour, tears glistened her eyes as she thought of the treacherous machinations of Lucifer. He was nothing less than a trickster and a manipulator and she had firsthand experienced it at that moment of how inhumane and deceitful he was.

He was manipulating her into betraying Rama and Draco, if they ever found out that she was planning to release the dark entity Draco had imprisoned, he wouldn’t hesitate to have her head on a stake.

She was on a perfidious risk between two devils. If Draco ever finds out she released the dark entity he kept confined for a presumably good reason, all her risks would be futile and vainless, she couldn’t afford to get caught definitely not by Draco. freewēbnoveℓ.com

She decided to rest her brain and pause the thinking episode, although she didn’t know how much time she had until he would pay her a visit, she figured the amount of time she had was barely enough after all he said he would come soon.

Though her appearance held a touch of celestial grace, her heart was burdened with a relentless weight, especially on this fateful night.

Seated in the quiet solitude of her chambers within the ancient stone walls of the unnerving quiet castle, Malika was a flurry of agitation.

The air around her crackled with unease, her usually composed demeanor disrupted by a grave worry that shadowed her thoughts. Tonight, her world was eclipsed by a menacing offer, one that arrived in a manner befitting its dark origin, the tempting proposal from the devil himself.

As she perched upon her bed, fingers tracing the intricate patterns of the bedspread, Malika’s mind was consumed by this perilous proposition. Her heart, torn between celestial purity and the whispering allure of the devil’s temptation, wrestled in turmoil. She knew the gravity of her decision; it wasn’t merely a choice between two paths but a battle for her very soul.

The devil’s offer was cunningly enticing, promising power, freedom, and a swift resolution to her earthly troubles. But Malika knew the cost all too well.

The price was her divine essence, the part of her that resonated with the celestial heavens, coercing her to wielding it to do something unholy, such as releasing an entity of darkness, one that was still unknown to her.

The thought of forsaking her celestial dignity sent shivers down her spine and flooded her with an inexplicable fear that threatened to overwhelm her.

As she pondered on the devil’s offer, her room seemed to close in, the walls pressing upon her, suffocating her with their weight. The flickering candlelight danced shadows on the walls, casting an eerie atmosphere that mirrored the tumult within her.

She closed her eyes, seeking solace in the memories of Zamiel’s arms, the buttery, velvet smoothness of his voice rubbing against her mind, and the gentle touch of his slender fingers trailing endearing paths of desired on her skin.

But the devil’s offer lingered, its sinister allure persistently tugging at her, clouding her thoughts and igniting fear in her heart, the thought of Zamiel tempted her even more to take his offer, she couldn’t live without him.

Every fiber of her being urged her to refuse, to resist the devil’s cunning persuasion. Yet, the fear of the perils that awaited her in the mortal world, the overwhelming burden of her responsibilities, whispered a different tune in her ears, tempting her to consider the devil’s proposition.

As the night deepened, Malika grappled with the gravity of her decision, her heart heavy with apprehension. She knew that a choice had to be made, one that would shape her destiny irrevocably.

The weight of her heritage, the consequences of her decision, and the fear of succumbing to the devil’s offer weighed heavily on her fragile soul.

Her mind swirled with doubts, her heart torn between celestial purity and earthly tribulations. But amidst the chaos of her thoughts, a glimmer of hope arose, after all she was doing it for Zamiel, she was taking the precarious risks for them, so they could finally be free from the schemes of Lucifer.

After all, it was impossible to make the devil their enemy, he was immortal and invincible, a being they could not defeat, so fighting against him was as good as a worthless try. In this situation, there was no enemy to fight against and no battle to win.

Concluding within herself, she decided to accept his offer. As she thought within herself, an unexpected knock on the door made her heart leap to her throat as she jerked up on her feet.

Expecting Zamiel to be the one behind the door, she took deep breaths in as she regained her composure before opening the door.

An earnest smile lit up her face and the heavy weight of despair hung on her chest suddenly faded away as she felt a sense of solace in his presence, unlike the nerve-wrecking inauspicious one Lucifer elicited within her.
