Chapter 263: Retribution

Rama’s attention was suddenly averted on Lucifer when she saw him moving toward them with slow, elegant strides. Every movement of his was ensnared with darkness and pride swirling around his silhouette as his black robe billowed behind them with the air of menace.

Rama swallowed her tears back as she surveyed him with keen eyes while pulling Malika behind her, but she stood her ground beside her, refusing to hide behind her like a shield.

"You should have accepted my offer, Malika and then things wouldn’t have ended this way. You would have had a chance to be happy." Lucifer’s voice bellowed softly as he stood at arm’s length away from them.

"Get away from her!" Rama yelled as she forcefully shoved Malika behind her.

His empty eyes flickered past Malika before it dropped on her with a fiendish gleam "You can’t save her neither can you save Draco. You can’t save either of them, you’ll watch as she dies and he suffers." He promised in a guttural, unforgiving tone, every word filled with the promise of certain doom, one that was inescapable and inevitable for them at that despairing and uncanny moment.

Rama shook her head as her jade eyes glistened with unshed tears, because she knew there was nothing she could do to alter the course of their inauspicious fate, he was an unstoppable enemy with a power that was far beyond her compatibility.

She was in a hopeless situation, desperate for hope but every flicker of it was snuffed out from her heart, enclosed with nothing by a burrowing pit of darkness.

"Rama." Malika called with a pained voice as she looked into her amber eyes infused with fear, her glass orbs softened with what seemed to be guilt and desperation reflecting over it.

"I don’t want to die." Malika’s whispering voice cracked as tears fell down her reddened cheeks.

As Rama stretched out her hand to hold her, a cloud of dark mists enveloped her and before either of them could process what was occurring, a magnetic force pulled her body with intense pressure as it propelled her toward Lucifer.

His hand gripped her throat as he shoved her down on the floor to kneel while she was facing Rama. Malika shrieked in horror as she tried to break out of the dark sorcery binding her down but it was futile and everytime her hands glowed with a radiant light in a bid to evoke her powers, it would fade in a beat as his malevolent powers consumed hers.

Rama’s blood turned cold with horror as she watched Malika in the mercy of the devil, for a minute she was cursed with immobility as her brain failed to process everything that was happening, but as soon as she regained her lost composure, the sense of protecting her at all cost suddenly struck her like lightning.

But unfortunately, as soon as she moved a single muscle, shadowy wisps materializing from within the darkness suddenly twirled around her, making her movements restricted by an imperceptible magnetic sensation.

Her limbs were suddenly bound by an invisible shackle. A tingling, cold sensation cascaded down her spine as her heart thud with terror, one that overwhelmed her senses and body.

Gritting her teeth, she struggled to move as she yielded in zealous efforts to break free from the darkness binding her, but it was futile, still yet she didn’t stop for a split second.

She locked gazw with Malika’s hopeless eyes and neutral countenance even as she tried to make peace with her fate, but she was still scared, she was terrified of dying, but she had painfully accepted the outcome.

Zamiel who was half unconscious in the lethal shackles binding him suddenly shifted with brute force in an attempt to break out of the entrapment the moment he saw Malika in the devil’s wicked grasp, but every attempt was futile and with each attempt to break free, the dark tendrils tightened as they twisted round his midriff with elevating pressure.

Every attempt made the air ripple with dark energy, but the more effort he wielded, the dark tendrils sapped more of his energy, leaving him debilitated as his head fell weakly as he breathed harshly.

"I’ll advice you to save your strength Zamiel." Lucifer drawled as his gaze narrowed to Zamiel who was reluctant on giving up as he still attempted to break free.

Grabbing Malika’s chin, he tilted her head up for Zamiel to see her "You’ve become so pathetic like Draco. You gave up your aim for power all for mere mortals, they have nothing to offer but weakness and vulnerability."

Zamiel’s eyes blazed with a fiendish aura as he looked at her, but still no matter how much efforts he garnered relentlessly, it was an inconceivable feat to break out from the bind.

"Your efforts are useless, watch as she dies. You’ll be thanking me for getting rid of your weakness when you realize what I’ve done for you." A sinister smile crossed his dark red lips as he spoke.

Trailing his hand to her back, he clasps his hand around her wings stiffened under the influence of the shadowy mists binding her in static position.

Rama’s throat constricted painfully as she watched in pure horror fleeting across her eyes. Shaking her head with shaky, unstable gasps flaring from her quivering lips she screamed "No!"

Immediately the scream erupted from her lips, he grabbed her wings and pulled at it viciously, ripping it from her back with a swift, precise action.

As Malika felt her celestial wings being ripped out of her back, she felt an indescribable pain as her wing was viciously torn apart. The aching burn spread from her back oozing out blood from where it had been ripped out from.

An agonizing scream left her lips as tears washed down on her face uncontrollably. Not only was her wing ripped out, but the core of her soul retained a deep rift tore through it, she not only felt the physical pain, but also a soul piercing pain.

Her face twisted in agony as she sobbed loudly, while Lucifer held in his hands, her bloodied pair of celestial wings. Her once white wings with streaks of Azure, gold and white was now smeared with blood as it dripped from the tip of the feathers.

Zamiel who was unable to move a single muscle as the dark tendrils depleted his energy now watched in regret as the torrent of guilt flooded his eyes. His veins popped and his teeth gnashed against each other in the shared pain of his dying mate.

Watching her die while he remained helpless and unable to save her from the vicious hands of his immortal enemy, a searing pain stabbed through every inch of his skin and every single cell of his seemed poisoned with misery.

Rama screamed frenetically as she watched in a thunderstruck state the moment he ripped Malika’s wings off as though he was ripping a rag doll. Her body, bound in the shadowy embrace of his game powers reeled in tremor as she stared at Malika’s face engraved with pure agony.

Hell reflected in her amber eyes as she writhed in unendurable pain amidst heavy sobs. At that melancholic moment, she wished for nothing more than death to finally take her in it’s cold, infinite embrace of nothingness so she could finally evade the torment consuming her.

She could feel the warmness of her blood as it gushed out out of the tear down her back to bathe the floor red. A sense of loss and grave sadness overwhelmed her the moment her wings were ripped out, she couldn’t bear one more second to endure the heart aching and soul despairing pain, she wanted an end to it.

"Malika..." Rama’s voice cracked like the rifts running through the ground as tears flooded her eyes.

Lucifer shoved her bloodied wings aside, not the tiniest bit of remorse could be palpable in those gloaming, soulless eyes of his.

Rama swallowed back the huge lump of fear stuck in her throat as she opened her mouth to plead but for a few seconds only whimpers and sobs erupted from her lips as her tears choked her, almost making her gag as she forgot how to breathe.

Lucifer’s hands moved like a serpent crawling it’s way through a smooth path as he coiled his hand around her delicate neck, while his fingers slowly pierced into her skin to draw out a trickle of blood.

Rama, on seeing this shivered erratically as her mind turned muddled with nothing but fear and desperation cramming it.

"P-Please don’t....Not Malika." Rama whispered, her voice breaking under the weight of despair.

"Humans. Such fragile creatures." Lucifer murmured with a hint of disgust in his voice.

Tears blurred her eyes as she locked gaze with Malika’s amber ones that were slowly getting dulled as life was being sucked out of her.

"I love you." Malika muttered weakly under her breath, darting her gaze from Rama to Zamiel "Both of you." She added in with a faint smile as a tear dropped down her cheek.

Her last words echoed with unparalleled affection and suppressed sorrow, before Lucifer’s claws pierced deeper into her flesh as he ripped her head off her neck drastically with fierce pressure, sending her blood spraying across the air like crimson diamonds under the dim moonlight.
