Chapter 270: A World Of Oblivion

"Wow." Rama breathed out with eyes widened in a mixture of both admiration and awe as her gaze narrowed to the courtyard teeming with the magical creatures.

"They are the last kinds of the forest spirit guardians." Aurora muttered with a rather glum countenance.

"But spirit guardians are supposed to be in the forest, why are they here?" Rama queried as she reluctantly tore her gaze from the courtyard.

"They were being captured by the humans as pets and killed by the dark witches. In a world where the knowledge of magical, unprotected creatures like this is known to all, they tend to take advantage and disaster happens." Aurora said.

Although it had been only a few hours since she knew the Silver head, it was the first time she saw a look of displeasure on her face as a faint frown appeared.

"And you chose to protect them, you must be a kind hearted person." Rama said with a warm smile as they exchanged soft glances. She already concluded within her that she liked the Silver head, she had been so nice to her and her silver eyes were mesmerizing her even more.

"You were a kind queen too, but also fierce and strong. You may have lost the battle but you never lost your heart or spirit." Aurora remarked with fervency.

A heartfelt grin cut through Rama’s lips at her sincere words, but then curiosity twinkled in her eyes as she said "It appears like you knew me before."

Aurora shrugged her shoulders lightly as she spoke "Everyone knows Queen Rama of Saba Empire, strong and kind, it’s no surprise I know you too."

"Why did you save me? You’re the Silver Witch Queen, I’m nothing but a mere human, my life should hold no significance to you." Rama pointed out.

"Some people are just worth saving and you still are, memories or not." Aurora said as she flicked a stray strand of her hair away from her face.

"Thank you for saving me, how can I repay you for saving my insignificant life?" Rama asked with grave seriousness.

"Stay alive." Aurora said.

Rama’s brows arched up in confusion as she stared at her in disarray "I should stay alive?"

"Yes, hand on to the thread of life no matter how thin it is, just stay alive. You can do that much for me, can you not?" Aurora asked in seriousness, making it clear to her that it was no joke, but she wondered why she needed her alive, what purpose was her life meant to serve?

"Why do you need me alive?" Rama asked.

"I don’t need you alive, the world does." Aurora stated, leaving the already confused girl even more confused.

Rama was about to ask a question until she swiftly interrupted her "The world needs more people like you, now no more questions, you’ll only hurt your brain love."

Rama pressed her lips in a thin line as she reluctantly gave up her questions.

"Did I have a family when I was a Queen?" Rama suddenly asked.

"Your parents, but you had no sibling." Aurora said and she nodded with a sigh.

"What happened to my parents in the war? Did they...." She trailed off.

"Your father died and then you took the throne but your mother died in the war, I’m so sorry for your loss." Aurora said as she extends her hand to her but then quickly retracted it while she was looking. If there was one thing she knew, Rama was far from a pitiful human being.

"Thousands of people probably lost their lives, including my mother, the least I could do was at least remember them and carry on their memories but I don’t even know who I am or a single memory to remember anyone." Rama said with an exasperated sigh while Aurora listened in silence.

Rama turned to face her, glinting emerald eyes searching for the truth within her icy yet warm silver ones "Will I regain my memories back or will I forever be lost to a world of oblivion?"

"I have no answer to that question, only time will tell." Aurora said in uncertainty.

"Maybe if I retraced my steps back in time, go back to my ruined kingdom and retrieve some items of mine, I could remember something, anything right?" Rama said with hope flitting through her eyes.

"No!" Aurora suddenly exclaimed in refusal.

Rama was taken aback by her sudden outburst, it left her startled for a short moment.

Aurora gave out an awkward chuckle as she tried to clear the tension in the air "It’s dangerous for you to leave, even stepping a foot out of the castle grounds is risky."

"Why would it be dangerous?" Rama queried, slightly skeptical.

"The moment word gets out that the queen of Saba Empire is alive, your enemies will come looking for you and they will undoubtedly kill you. If they do, then I don’t have the power to save you, that is why it’s best if you remain here, where you’re safe and no one can break in to harm you." Aurora explained, her words flickered with a sense of security and sincerity.

"Alright then, but how long do I have to stay? I have no plans to overstay my welcome and you don’t have a reason to protect me more than you have already done." Rama remarked.

"Oh, sweetheart, you’re welcome to stay for as long as you want. This is your home now as much as it is mine." Aurora said with a radiant smile adorning her face as she holds her hand.

"Thank you for your generosity, as a repayment I’ll do my best to stay alive." Rama said firmly.

Aurora gave her a warm smile in response. Finally, she could keep her safe until Draco would finally awaken into the world.

"You can go ahead and have fun with the spirit animals, I’m very sure they’ll connect with you." Aurora said.

Whipping her head to face her, she shot her a confused look with innocent eyes.

"You’ve been staring, you can go." Aurora nudged and she gave her a delighted smile as she skipped to the courtyard.

Aurora watched as Rama excitedly skipped to the courtyard, she was a spirited soul, with cascading locks the color of midnight and eyes that sparkled like emeralds.

Rama, a child of curiosity and wonder wandered through the castle grounds to the courtyard. She found solace in the ethereal beauty of shimmering dragons that graced the greenery floor. Their scales reflected the sun’s rays in a mesmerizing dance of hues, casting iridescent glimmers across the heavens. With a heart full of bravery, Rama tiptoed into the ancient dragon haven, where the magnificent creatures roamed freely.

She laughed joyously as the dragons swooped low, their scales whispering enchanting melodies in the breeze. Their wings, a kaleidoscope of colors, would create a spectacle as they spiraled and danced through the air. Rama, with her gentle demeanor, found a kinship with the mythical beasts, sharing playful moments amidst their majestic flights.

But it wasn’t just dragons that captured Rama’s imagination. In the fields beyond the courtyard, she discovered a herd of horses with wings that shimmered like precious opals.

Tall, swaying grasses kissed her ankles as she skipped through the field, her raven-black hair cascading down her back like a waterfall.

As she looked up at the sky, shimmering dragons soared overhead, their scales glistening like polished gemstones in the sunlight. Rama’s eyes sparkled with delight as she extended her arms, beckoning the dragons closer. They swooped down gracefully, their wings slicing through the air with a gentle whoosh. With a touch as light as a whisper, she connected with them, her fingertips tingling with the electric energy of their presence.

The dragons danced around Rama, their iridescent scales reflecting a myriad of colors. Some breathed tendrils of mist, weaving intricate patterns in the air, while others performed breathtaking aerial acrobatics, spiraling and twirling in perfect harmony. As she laughed joyously, the dragons responded to her giggles, their movements mirroring her infectious delight.

In the distance, the silhouettes of horses with magnificent wings caught Elara’s attention. Without hesitation, she raced towards them, the wind tousling her hair and carrying the scent of wildflowers. The winged horses, regal and majestic, grazed on the sweet grass of the meadow. Their feathered wings stretched gloriously, catching the fading sunlight.

Approaching the winged horses, Rama’s heart fluttered with anticipation. With gentle whispers and tender touches, she bonded with the creatures, their bond forged in trust and harmony. They welcomed her, their large, soulful eyes reflecting a depth of understanding beyond words. Without saddles or reins, Rama mounted the horse she felt most drawn to, feeling the warmth of its sleek body beneath her.

With a nudge from Elara’s heels, the majestic steed took flight, its powerful wings beating rhythmically against the canvas of the sky. The wind rushed past her face, exhilarating and freeing as they soared higher and higher, leaving the earth far below. Together they carved elegant arcs through the heavens, weaving among the clouds tinged with shades of pink and gold.

As they glided, Rama marveled at the world unfolding beneath her. Lush forests stretched out like emerald tapestries, sparkling rivers snaked through the verdant landscape, and distant mountains stood proud, their peaks touching the sky. The world seemed both vast and intimate from this celestial vantage point.

The dragons joined the aerial ballet, swirling around Rama and her winged companion in a breathtaking display of synchronized flight as she stroked its lush mane with fondness but as they soared, a sense of familiarity hit her.
