Chapter 488: The Devil Is Right Behind You

Larisa tried to scream but the freezing cold had worsened and it affected her ability to speak. She could only hope inwardly for Lothaire to pop out of nowhere as the bulky man overpowered her with the callous intent to exploit her.

The man grabbed her hands, pressing the chains tightly on her wrists which bruised her hard and it made her groan in pain.

’Lothaire where are you?!!’ She cried inwardly. Her heart skipped a beat when the door suddenly came crashing down as it burst open to reveal a fiery demon with blazing golden eyes to all’s view. ’Lothaire!!’ Her subconsciousness screamed in delight.

His presence alone made the already freezing room as cold as ice and at the same time, made it as hot as hell as his whole body burned with anger, he was ready to burn them all with flames of hell.

Larisa was relieved to see Lothaire and at the same time wary, his aura had gotten darker and if she thought she had ever seen him angry, then it was a mistake because now, he looked more dangerous and devilish than his father.

His golden eyes blazed with fury of hell burning into them, his chest heaved heavily with anger and every breath he took could make a person fall unconscious as every pore in his skin exuded darkness.

His golden eyes fell to the bulky man atop Larisa who froze in his movement and he immediately came off her in a flash but he immediately got hold of her, taking a knife from his pocket and bringing it close to her neck, threatening Lothaire to not take any step closer.

"Don’t come any closer you demon!" The bulky man yelled as he brought the knife close to her neck, trembling in fear at the sight of the demon, the blade sliced the side of her neck a bit and a small amount of blood trickled down from it.

Lothaire squinted his eyes dangerously as he saw the man inflicting harm on her, but he did exactly as the man said, knowing exactly who they were and he wasn’t bluffing about hurting her but he was being calculative and he would surely attack them at the right moment.

The man motioned to another man beside him who was trembling in fear and the man shot him a wary look as he understood the signal he was giving him.

The bulky man glared at him and he finally moved with a knife in his shaky hands towards a rope that was connected to something atop the roof.

The man glanced at Lothaire who was standing at the door side silently like a predator, as he watched them with dark, murderous eyes and he gulped hard as he cut the ropes as fast as he could and quickly retreated back in fear.

The long spiky rods being held atop by the rope immediately came down on Lothaire as soon as the ropes were cut.

The long spiky rods plunged deep into Lothaire’s back and shot out from his chest viciously, blood flowed from his back and chest where the rods had stabbed him. It was obviously extremely painful but he didn’t wince in pain nor did he make a sound as he glared hellishly at them. He was hurt but he could still take out all of them.

Larisa’s mouth parted in horror as she watched numerous rods shooting into Lothaire’s back and out of his chest.

The amount of blood that flowed out from his wounds was enough to make a person fall dead, but he didn’t flinch in pain but even if he wasn’t in pain, she felt as though she was the one being stabbed with the rods and she couldn’t bear to see Lothaire in pain as her eyes watered and her chest tightened in pain.

"Stop it!! Don’t hurt him!!" Larisa yelled hysterically, she wasn’t thinking rational anymore as she struggled to get out of the man’s hold, kicking her feet into the air and punching him as hard as she could, not caring that she could hurt herself with the knife being held towards her throat.

"I’m fine." She heard Lothaire say to her in a calm way and she fell weak as she sobbed heavily with trembling body, seeing the rods plunged horrifically into his flesh and the immense blood he was losing.

His golden eyes burned with hellish flames and the rods suddenly engulfed with red sparks of flame and in a blink of an eye, the rods burned and it faded into red ash, revealing the bloody holes in his body that started to heal. The men stared with widened eyes in horror and amazement.

"Demon!! Attack now before he fully heals!!" The bulky man yelled in alert at the other men as he threw Larisa onto the ground, charging at Lothaire with a white stake in his hold.

The other men reluctantly attacked with their weapons that were soaked with holy water made from the white oak tree that was stated to be able to get rid of vampires and demons according to their ancestors. The men charged towards Lothaire but halfway close to him, a strong gust of spine chilling wind blew past them and he disappeared from the position he was, leaving the men trembling with fear and horror as they searched the dark room for the man that was nowhere to be seen. frёeωebɳovel.com

"Don’t turn around, the devil is behind you!" One of the men who had hidden in fear behind the rest of them heard a low, dark voice behind him and he gulped as his blood froze, knowing who the voice belonged to.

The trembling man slowly turned around to meet the golden furious eyes of the devil himself.

The men heard the ear piercing scream behind them and they all looked back to see the devil digging his hands into the chest of their weakest member and within a second, ripped the man’s heart out. They watched in horror as Lothaire held the man’s bloody heart in his hand that was still thumping softly and he dropped it to the floor with a devilish grin on his face.

"We can’t kill him! I’m out of here!!" One of the men said in horror as he quickly ran towards the door and the others agreed with him. The man was about to reach for the door when he felt a large hand gripping his hand tightly.

"Leaving so soon? The fun’s not over yet!" Lothaire hissed venomously at the man with hellish eyes glowering down at him. He twisted the man’s hand viciously and his bones pierced out of his skin as blood jetted out of it, releasing a loud scream from the man. His claws elongated and he immediately slashed the man’s neck with one swift movement, that separated the man’s head from his neck and blood jetted out of his dissected neck as his head fell to the floor. The men gasped at the horrific display from the devil.

"If we stick together, we’ll be able to take him out!" The bulky man suggested as the only reasonable way to leave the place alive even though he knew it was impossible but he strongly believed that they would make it if the white stake could go through his heart. The other men doubted him but at that moment, it seemed like the only chance for them to survive from the devil’s brutal onslaught.

The men charged at him at once but he moved like the wind and took them all out one by one, their numbers decreased as well as their hope as he bathed the wall with their blood and covered the floor with their bloody pieces. He unleashed his wrath on them for having the audacity to touch his breed mate, for making her bleed and for daring to defy him.

Larisa watched Lothaire as he slaughtered them all with burning fury, but she was fast losing consciousness as she had a terrible fever from the cold and everywhere started to go blurry but she didn’t want to close her eyes yet until she knew Lothaire was safe, even though she knew he would but she just wanted to be sure.

Lothaire ran as fast as he could after the men had all turned bloody corpses, he went towards Larisa who was freezing on the cold floor, her skin was already turning pale from the cold and her body shivered immensely.

He quickly took her in his arms as he carried her and she relaxed a bit as she felt his warmth emanating from his body into hers. She finally closed her eyes and succumbed into the embrace of darkness once again as they were both safe.

He took her out of the crypt as fast as possible and left to her apartment. He took off all her cold and damp clothes and changed her into warm, thick clothes. He saw the small cut on her neck and he took care of it as he applied treatment and he covered her with numerous thick duvets to make sure she was warm as he watched her sleeping face.

He was mad with rage earlier that she was in danger but at that moment he felt relaxed staring at her sleeping peacefully but he was angry at himself, that he couldn’t protect her like he promised her, he blamed himself for the fact that she almost died in the hands of those lunatics. He should have kept his promise and protected her better, but this was a lesson to him, he would never leave her side ever again!
