Chapter 95: [95] Sabrina’s True Strength

Eliron felt a disturbance in the force.

’Why do I feel like Yennefer is doing something crazy?’ He thought, stealing a glance at the village.

Then he shook his head. ’I have no time for that.’

Right now, from the moment the three-section staff appeared, the mana emanating from Sabrina had become fierce.

’Coiling dragon... that was what she called the stance.’

Eliron’s grip tightened on his sword, knowing that the next move was going to be deadly.

Swoosh!

But he didn’t even see her move.

Clang!

Using foresight, Eliron managed to block the weapon before it slammed into his face. He leaped back as the other side of the staff curved towards him, the chain rattling from the speed it was moving at.

Swoosh!

Just the passing of the staff was enough to send a wave of wind rushing by.

He delivered two sharp slashes at her in quick succession, but she confidently rotated the three-section staff, blocking every single one of them.

The staff glowed with a fierce red aura, and suddenly she leaped at him, the staff cutting through his guard like a serpent.

Eliron tried to evade it in time, but even with foresight, the attack was just too fast.

He managed to dodge the first blow, but it was a three-hit combo.

The first one brushed past his face as he leaned back, he leaped over the second, then swung his sword down in a clean arc.

But Sabrina vanished from that spot, appearing at his back and swinging at his side.

Bang!

Hot pain coursed through his body on contact.

The ground caved in just from the force of the blow, sending a rush of wind and earth flying, as Eliron was tossed to the other side of the battlefield.

"Damn it..." He cursed as he checked his scorched side.

Thankfully, he had concentrated his mana at that spot at the last minute, if not, he would have already been dead.

Sabrina stepped out of the crater like a phantom. She was no longer speaking, her face was emotionless as her collar flared vibrantly.

’The collar must have noticed she was stalling...’ 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

Sabrina was a warrior who had cultivated her mana and technique for over a hundred years, and yet she was spending so much time fighting Eliron, who had barely been training for a month.

Eliron had noticed it some time ago, apart from him being a difficult opponent, Sabrina was trying to stall for time...

Maybe she wanted Eliron to find a way to beat her, or maybe she was just reluctant about killing him.

The bottom line was that the collar had seen through her scheme, and now, she was being forced to go all out.

Eliron sighed.

Normally, he wanted to fight in a way that would ensure she didn’t get injured badly... or worse, dead.

He cracked his neck.

But now, it was clear. If he did not take this fight seriously, he would die.

Sabrina took a step forward, then another step before breaking into a jog that transformed into a sprint!

She arrived in front of Eliron in a flash, the aura of her three-section staff gleaming in the rain.

Both weapons clashed, causing sparks to brush past their faces.

Although Eliron could feel his arms rattling from the force of the blow, he held his blade firmly.

The problem with the three-way staff was in its partitions.

While with a sword, you could control your opponent’s weapon, and even predict his attack patterns, when it came to the three-way staff it became nearly impossible.

There were three striking surfaces and two chains, creating movements so erratic that they were a pain to read.

Thankfully, Eliron had foresight.

He deflected the staff to the side, then swung to her left, but just as the sword was close to her side, her staff flung to intercept it.

Eliron cut the sword back, a classic feint, then drove his blade toward her abdomen, slicing through her side.

She gritted her teeth as blood gushed out, the staff racing towards his head.

Eliron ducked, slammed his foot into her shin, destabilizing her, then swung at her chest.

But to his surprise, Sabrina reacted immediately. She twisted her body, the sword cutting past her, grabbed the hilt of the weapon, and swung hers.

Whoosh!

Eliron clenched his jaw as he managed to wrestle the sword back and block the staff, a miniature shockwave cutting past them.

But that was just the first hit.

Sabrina held the weapon, swinging it around her body and lashing out at Eliron, delivering so many hits that he lost count.

Each hit was like being struck with a flaming staff, and each swing carried the weight of a mammoth!

His sword was so hot from blocking the strikes that it began to glow amber, the sparks erupting every second.

Yet, Sabrina did not stop, neither did she show any signs of slowing down.

Bang!

Eliron was dazed by a heavy blow to the head, he stumbled back as Sabrina closed the distance.

This time, it was the sharp end of the three-section staff that came towards his head, seconds away from cleaving it in two.

But the weapon froze midair as Eliron caught the blade, his flesh burning from the heat and mana.

Sabrina’s eyes widened. "Are you mad?"

Eliron smirked, his flesh burning as he spoke. "You have to be a little insane to survive in this world."

He pulled the weapon towards himself, unsettling her balance, and then headbutted her on the bridge of her nose, cracking her head back.

Then, using the part of her weapon in his hand, Eliron’s muscles tensed as he drove it towards her neck, aiming for the slave collar.

Crack! Whoosh!

Large ice pillars shot up into the sky, forcing Eliron to retreat.

Sabrina shook her head, trying to rid herself of the ringing in her ears.

’He is inexperienced...’ she thought.

The elven lord fought like someone who had learned to use his techniques for a little over a month.

While it was impressive that he was already this good, Sabrina had perfect mastery of her own techniques.

She was supposed to be winning. ’Why then can’t I put him down??’

Now that Eliron was a little far from Sabrina, he had a wide smile on his face as he took in a deep breath.

Sabrina swung her weapon to the side, the shafts snapping back in place, converting the weapon back into a glaive.

While Eliron raised his sword, a dark smile on his face. He now had the distance he needed to go all out...

This would be his final move, the deciding factor in this fight... And this time, Eliron would not use one element, he would use them all!
