Chapter 122: Way To Relax

Later, I explained to Veronica that there were still some tasks I needed to attend to before we could go on vacation; instead, we spent the evening together with my parents and Olivia at a local restaurant.

When we returned home, I felt the need to check on the current state of my company, realizing that I hadn’t reviewed the financial reports in quite some time.

To my surprise, with three fusion plants under construction, String Harmony boxes gaining preorders, and the NeuralDream sub-company attracting new investors, my company Dreamland Net was now valued at over 1 trillion dollars.

It had become the sixth most valuable company in the world, ranking just below Amazon and above NVIDIA.

After spending the night with Olivia and Veronica, I woke up ready for another session with Scholar Emanuel.

I had plans to ask him about a two-day break after the session, and, of course, I wanted to discuss the material I should focus on during this time.

An hour after waking up, I found myself back at the University of Excellence on Coelus.

During the session with Scholar Emanuel mentioned that yesterday we did a summary, and today we would delve into the specifics of the 6th Layer, particularly focusing on the creation and manipulation of resonating Quasars.

Emanuel explained the intricate process of encoding information into changes in Quasar frequencies using a built-in programming language within the machine.

As he elaborated, advancements in the technology allowed for more sophisticated capabilities. The following iterations made recording live scenes and encoding Quasars with that recording possible.

I realized that this was likely how the Ulthars had contacted me—through a recorded scene encoded into my dream, then they waited to decode my response and responded accordingly.

Then, Emanuel began explaining the process of encoding the information. It was much more advanced than anything I have seen so far. Billions of Quasars needed to be controlled perfectly to achieve the desired result.

As the session came to an end I asked Emanuel, "Emanuel, could I get a two-day break?"

He responded, "Break? We just started; you said you have all the time in the world."

I explained, "I’m not talking about completely stopping. But I would want to take my family for a vacation; they haven’t had one since ever. I want to ask for materials to learn from."

Emanuel waved his head disapprovingly but said, "I mean, alright. I will give you a holographic tablet to learn from. But you need to learn the entire decoding and encoding process, as well as the design and structure of the resonating machines."

I nodded my head. This was what I wanted. Now I could take everyone for a nice break while still advancing towards the goal.

I sat there for around 30 minutes as Emanuel was preparing the learning materials for me, moving them between databases so they would be accessible on my new tablet.

As soon as that was ready, I bid him farewell and left Coelus.

Upon entering my house, I found Oliv and Veronica already waiting in the living room, completely prepared for an adventure.

I asked, "Where are Mom and Dad?"

Oliv replied, "Oh, they should be back in a couple of minutes. Father said that he wanted to buy something to eat if we were going to leave for two days."

I looked at her for a second and teased, "Father? You are calling him father already?"

She blushed slightly.

I then continued, "Sure. Let me take a shower and change, and then we will leave for Coelus. From there, we will go to a travel company. They should give us a recommendation."

On the way to the bathroom, I took off my shirt and examined myself in the mirror. Despite not actively training, my body was well-toned with minimal fat, and my muscles were clearly defined.

I pondered whether these were some side effects of the Serum, and if so, I quite liked them.

After a short while, I left the bathroom dressed in clothes suitable for both mountain climbing and navigating through jungles.

Perhaps we would have to decide between the two options.

My parents were already home. "Alright, let’s go, shall we?" I asked everyone.

My father got up and picked up a black backpack full of food.

"You didn’t need to take that much. I’m pretty sure the planet is civilized enough to have a food spot," I commented.

"You never know, son. What are your plans, by the way?"

I said, "I will leave the choice to you. Let’s get going."

Oliv rushed to the wardrobe and said, "I want there to be a beach."

Oliv wore black baggy pants and a form-fitting white t-shirt.

Veronica retorted, "No. Mountains are better. You should work on your figure, Oliv."

Oliv looked at her, annoyed. "What? What do you mean?"

Veronica smiled, "Nothing. Nothing."

Veronica was wearing tight yoga pants and a rigid brow jacket, falling just below her butt cheeks.

...

Just moments later, we found ourselves on Coelus and headed towards a travel agency that I had previously checked out.

I wasn’t sure about the available travel destinations, but maybe we could find a spot with both a beach and mountains. There were probably artificially created travel destinations, given the advanced technology.

As we entered the travel agency, I approached the counter where a lady in grey clothing with black circles under her eyes was sitting. She looked somewhat depresed.

She asked, "Yes? What does Sir need?"

I replied, "We are looking for a travel destination outside of Coelus."

"Do you have any specific requirements?"

"Is it possible for there to be both a beach and mountains?"

She glanced at me and then at her transparent monitor. "You want them to be in close proximity to each other?" she asked.

"Preferably. We only have two days," I added.

She sighed, probably thinking we were on a tight budget, and said, "There is a spot like this, but the cost is quite high. It’s 190 chronos per person per day."

Realizing that I had never used the currency of this place, I quickly thought about a solution. "The Lord!" I yelled.

The girl behind the counter looked at me as if I were insane and retorted, "Sir, if you don’t have money, then leave."

However, a second later, The Lord appeared next to me in his pink suit.

The girl stood up from behind the counter, bewildered. "Leader!" she exclaimed.

"Leader?" Was this the equivalent of the president?

The Lord looked at me and asked, "What is it, Max?"

I explained, "I don’t have the currency of this world, and I need it."

The Lord shifted his gaze to the girl behind the counter, and it seemed like she was completely infatuated.

After a moment, The Lord said, "Put anything he wants under Government Mission. Just let him go whenever he wants."

The girl quickly nodded her head, saying, "Of course!"

Then, The Lord disappeared.

I turned to the lady. "Is that settled?" I asked.

"Yes, it is, Sir!" she replied, still in awe.

Veronica came to my right, held my arm, and said, "Nicely handled, Max."

The lady efficiently prepared us for teleportation between Coelus and Jamada, the vacation spot.

We found ourselves in the teleportation chamber, which was essentially an Observer. She carefully explained the process, detailing the setup within the chamber.

As we stood in the chamber, I asked, "Are there any food spots there?"

She replied nervously, "Yes. Everything will be cost-free, Sir!" Despite her anxiety, there was a respectful tone in her voice.

In quick succession, we were given golden cards and one after the other, we disappeared from Coelus and reappeared in a small clearing in a forest on Jamada.

Pathways extended in two directions, with signs pointing to various places along those routes. The rich, colorful surroundings made it look like a great place to go on vacation.

Oliv quickly ran up to the signs in the front and read out loud, "Lake Sarmon. Mount Fall. Village Yellow." She looked disappointed, while Veronica yelled from behind her, "Yeah! Let’s go!" as she stretched.

Oliv turned around and pleaded, "No! Please..."

I laughed, "Easy. Easy. We have time to go for both."

The other side of the clearing seemed to lead to a beach and another village.

I suggested, "I think the mountain first is gonna be a better choice. Tomorrow we can rest on the beach. What do you think?"

My mother, who had kept quiet all this time, finally spoke up, "I don’t know about the mountain... I can see better, but it’s too much..."

"Right..." I responded. Then an idea struck me, "How about we go to the Yellow Village and see what’s up there? Maybe there will be something interesting so that you can stay there with dad. After I come back to the village with the girls, we could go to the beach?"

They all agreed, and we made our way through the forest.

Around 30 minutes later, we reached a village that looked thoroughly magical. I would say that it had a Chinese vibe to it, but it was even more colorful. Each roof was of a different color.

We weren’t there alone. There were a couple of families of three or four sitting below large outdoor umbrellas.
