The Ex-Wife's Revenge: Rise of the Real Heiress.-Chapter 205: Beginning of everyone’s destruction
The next day, three main hashtags dominated the news.
The first hashtag was about Maiden’s textile industry being set on fire. People were speculating about false play and who might be involved, but the police had yet to find any evidence.
The second hashtag was about Lloyd’s collaboration with the Matthews, and the third hashtag was about Elara setting a new record by becoming the first newbie to gain 10M followers within the first hour of creating her official social media handle.
She named it Radian rather than using her own name, and while everyone tried to figure out if there was any hidden meaning behind it, only people close to her knew it was her name mixed with Daniel’s.
The collaboration with Lara Jewels, her role in the drama, and her exclusivity with Macros Industries as the only actress they ever signed gained popularity overnight, so strong that directors and producers were lining up to sign her to their movies.
To say Antonio never thought he would be overworked like this would be an understatement.
At the same time, Elara, who was reading the news, smiled to herself.
Maybe her mother was right on this one, and she should’ve taken her advice earlier.
She was so focused on setting an example and putting herself in the shoes of women with nothing that she forgot she wasn’t just an ordinary woman.
She was Elara Fucking Frost.
She didn’t need to earn a single penny, and yet her presence alone was enough to put all those bitches and bastards down.
She dialed her mother’s number, and it wasn’t long before Gabriella picked up.
"Hey sunshine, good morning. How are you doing today?" Her mother asked, and Elara smiled.
"I am doing well, Mom. Did you see the news?" She asked.
"I did," Gabriella said. Elara could practically hear her mother’s satisfaction through her words, and that was enough to let her know she did the right thing by taking their help to get things done the way she wanted.
"Do you think I overdid it?" Elara asked, and Gabriella chuckled softly.
"Baby, your paternal grandfather is not alive. If he had been, there would have been multiple graves in the city at different locations. They are lucky they are getting what they deserve from someone so forgiving," Gabriella said.
Elara smiled at her mother’s words before shaking her head.
"How are the preparations going?" Elara asked.
Her mother wanted her marriage to take place in the same place where she had married Elara’s father. And since the bookings were full, they had to reschedule to another week.
It was the earliest the venue could push it.
Though Daniel said he would make the arrangements by pulling the ties, her family asked for some time to arrange things and send invitations to their important family members, some of whom would be flying from overseas. Thus, at the end of the day, they pushed the wedding to ten days.
Elara ended the call after talking for some time and then walked to the living hall, only to come face to face with the sight of Antonio buried in documents of her contracts, and she couldn’t help but chuckle.
"I knew you were a handsome man for the job," She commented, and the man looked up before pursing his lips, amused and irritated at the same time.
"I am sorry for the extra work," she sat before him, placing her chin on her hand as she looked at him.
The man stared at her for a few seconds before he sighed and shook his head.
"Now I know what makes Xylon and his team do anything for you. Your cute face persuades everyone," Antonio grumbled before he placed the contract aside when his phone started vibrating.
Elara smiled at his words and walked to the kitchen before she started preparing some breakfast for herself and Antonio.
Once she was done cooking, she ate half of it and then got ready to head out and meet Justin for the rest of the work.
"Do you want me to come, Miss Elara?" Antonio shouted from the living room, and Elara turned around briefly before showing him an okay sign.
Antonio nodded and quickly packed some contract files in a suitcase that he would review while waiting for her in the car.
As they descended the floors through the lift, Elara looked at his bag before looking at him.
"Do you know bodyguards get their separate fan base? Your social media can blow, too. Do you want to be famous? If yes, come with me to the promotional events, I mean, inside the venue from now on. And if not, then wear shades. This won’t assure 100% privacy, but it would do some good to some extent at least," Elara suggested before she walked to the car.
As they moved forward, a man dressed in a green shirt, black pants, and black shades stood there, his coat resting on his left hand as he stood by their car.
Antonio immediately got into bodyguard mode and walked forward to see who this man was.
However, before he could say a word, Elara interrupted.
"This is my new manager, who will deal with the contracts and my future collaborations. I know you already have a lot of work. That’s why even Daniel asked me if I wanted a personal manager, I said yes," Elara explained.
"Are you firing me then?" Antonio asked, shock evident on his face.
"Did I not do well? Was it the contracts? Or was it because—" before the man’s horses could run wild, Elara threw the keys towards him and he immediately caught them.
"You are still my bodyguard. Don’t you think you are getting rid of me anytime soon?" Elara said.
Antoni heaved a sigh of relief before glaring at the new man, who was only looking at Elara.
"Big fan, ma’am," The man said.
Elara smiled.
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Toby," She shook his hand.
"Please call me Toby, just like you call Mr. Antonio by his name," He said.
"You don’t compare to me," Antonio grumbled, and Elara waved her hand to ask him to ignore what he said.
"Let’s get working from today itself," Elara said.
"Yes, ma’am. Tell me where you want us to go first?" Toby asked, sitting beside Antonio as Antonio got into the driver’s seat while Elara sat in the back seat.
"Let’s go to the Black Market," Elara commented.
"Okay. Let’s go to Black—" Toby froze in his place before he looked at Antonio, who didn’t look so shocked.
He remembered his boss saying their lady boss could be unhinged sometimes, and now he understood what that meant.
Only a person who doesn’t care about their reputation would risk going to a place like that when their career was picking up.
At the same time, Elara, who sat in the back seat, thought about her next move that was going to take place within an hour.
She looked outside at the passing shops, a sight that she once used to distract herself from the pain she felt.
At the same time, she needed to find a way to deal with Arnold. And for that, maybe she would need to lure him out before killing him with her own hands.
And for that, she would need to become stronger and devise the kind of strategies that he wouldn’t be able to predict.
This time, she won’t hide. Everything would be laid right before him. She would let him believe he knew everything about her until he knew nothing. Elara thought to herself.
