The F-Class Healer Omega is a Villain [BL]-Chapter 47: Cheon Areum is afraid of death
Chapter 47: Cheon Areum is afraid of death
The moment the words left his mouth, Yoon Seoyul scooped him up from the ground. Cheon Areum instinctively clung to his neck for support as Yoon Seoyul swiftly strode toward the car.
None of the reporters dared approach them—except for a few bold ones seemingly eager to dive into hot lava. They rushed forward, blocking the path to the car, their cameras flashing as they hurled questions in rapid succession.
"Mr. Yoon Seoyul, are the rumors true? Are you dating the new S+ Class hunter?"
"How did you close the gate without entering it? Can you tell us more about it?"
"The Brutavernum Guild doesn’t take in new hunters. Did you let him join because he’s your lover?"
"Step aside."
Yoon Seoyul spoke in a low, icy voice, his eyes narrowing on them. That alone was enough. The reporters froze under his gaze and quickly began to scatter, parting from the car like a tide receding from the shore. Yoon Seoyul opened the backseat door and carefully lowered Cheon Areum inside, handling him as if he were something fragile. With a quiet click, he pulled the seatbelt across his chest and fastened it securely.
"Hwan... where is he right now?"
"He left for another gate this morning. What do you need from him?"
Shaking his head, he weakly replied.
"No. Take me to him..."
Without pressing him for answers, Yoon Seoyul slid into the driver’s seat, maneuvering the car away from the throng of reporters crowding the entrance. The further they drove, the quieter the world became—but inside Cheon Areum, chaos brewed. A strange pressure pressed down on his veins, his entire body aching as if something vital was draining away. He could feel the ebb of his energy, sluggish and fading, while violent tremors wracked his frame. Looking down, he stared at his hands—pale, numb, and trembling uncontrollably. No matter how hard he clenched them, the shivering wouldn’t stop.
Am I shaking from the fear of death?
"Seoyul... stop the car and come here."
The moment he parked the car, Yoon Seoyul didn’t waste a second. He stepped out and quickly entered through the backseat door. His gaze immediately fixed on Cheon Areum’s face, now drained of color.
"Don’t lift your head. You have a nosebleed."
Lowering his head, he brought up his sleeve and gently dabbed at the trickle of blood running down his skin. The fabric darkened with each pass until the flow slowed, then stopped. Without a word, he reached out and placed a hand over his forehead.
"Why is your body so cold? What’s wrong? Tell me."
"Do you have an energy booster? My energy... it’s too low."
"Why didn’t you say so earlier..."
Speaking with a rare tremble in his voice, Yoon Seoyul pulled out an energy booster from his inventory—the same kind Hwan had used before. His hands were steady, but his expression betrayed a flicker of panic. Pushing up Cheon Areum’s sleeve with care, he quickly jabbed the injector into his arm, releasing the contents. He felt it instantly—the rush of artificial energy flooding through his vein. But instead of anchoring itself, it dispersed, slipping through him like water through cupped hands. His body refused to retain it.
"It’s not working! Yoon Seoyul, it’s not working!"
Holding onto Yoon Seoyul’s arm, Cheon Areum clutched it tightly, his cold fingers trembling as he looked up at him with wide, anxious eyes, speaking desperately. This was the last option he could think of, and if even this didn’t work, what could work?
"The artificial energy is not being stored. My body isn’t regenerating any new energy either..."
Cheon Areum muttered with lost eyes, as if he were talking to himself.
"What about my energy?"
"Huh?"
Yoon Seoyul spoke softly as he lifted Cheon Areum’s shirt, revealing the faint rise and fall of his chest. He pressed his warm palm against the center. From that touch, a thin but potent stream of heated energy flowed directly into Cheon Areum’s core—strained, flickering, yet undeniably alive. A sharp inhale left his lips as his eyes widened, locking onto Yoon Seoyul’s face in startled disbelief.
"A pure energy transfer? This isn’t safe, is it?"
He didn’t know it was possible to transfer energy directly, but the fact that it was not a widely known method meant it was not regarded as a method that they should use at all—even in dire situations.
"That’s enough. Yoon Seoyul, that’s enough!"
"Stay still. It’s dangerous to move around."
"..."
Still holding onto his arm, Cheon Areum stared at him ridiculously. Yoon Seoyul was wholly focused on giving his own energy to him, not even blinking in the process. It should be fine since Yoon Seoyul could regenerate his energy unlike him, but he couldn’t help but worry. That’s when he felt it—buried within the stream of raw, unfiltered energy. Emotions. Heavy and unshielded. A weight pressed down on his chest as the grief carried within that energy surged through him. Grief so profound, it hollowed out everything else.
Thinking it was sufficient, Yoon Seoyul quietly removed his hand. Cheon Areum locked eyes with him as tears involuntarily fell down his cheeks. Perhaps already knowing what kind of emotions he had felt, Yoon Seoyul didn’t ask him why he was crying, staring at him helplessly.
Losing himself to the overwhelming emotions, he lurched forward, throwing his arms around Yoon Seoyul. Burying his face into his chest, he clung tightly, sobbing uncontrollably as he fell on top of Yoon Seoyul’s body.
"I also miss them."
He sniffed.
"In the past, they always came back home, no matter how much time it took... I keep on waiting for them... But they’re not coming back, Yoon Seoyul."
Wrapping his arms tightly around Cheon Areum’s shoulders, Yoon Seoyul pulled him close, his voice low and hoarse as he began to whisper apologies.
"I’m sorry, Areum..."
Repeatedly saying the same words over and over again.
"I’m sorry... Cheon Areum."
"I’ll never let you to be all alone again."
