The Fake Heiress Turns Out to Be a True Tycoon!-Chapter 369: I’m About to Die, How Did I Not Know?
Chapter 369: Chapter 369: I’m About to Die, How Did I Not Know?
The next day, Azura Loomis spent the entire day transferring over all the extractable fortune from the targets she had strategized over the years.
All of the fortune, including that of the Loomis Family, was given to the system.
On the third day, Azura looked at herself in the mirror, her skin rough and parched yellow, even exuding a sense of decay, she closed her eyes and told herself,
"This is only temporary."
As long as Scarlett Jennings was dealt with, the current situation would soon come to an end.
Donning her hat, sunglasses, and mask, Azura walked to the nursery and glanced at the two dolls placed side by side. After some thought, she tucked the doll of Mrs. Jennings into her pocket.
From the perspective of Chase’s doll, it was a bizarrely bundled-up woman, more covered up than celebrities, who abruptly took the old lady away. Chase was instantly alarmed,
"Who are you?! Where are you taking my grandma?! Grandma! Put my grandma down! Otherwise, take me with you!"
Mrs. Jennings was equally anxious, "Where are you taking me? Chase! Chase! Don’t be afraid, grandma will be alright, you just stay well, wait for Scarlett to come save you..."
Unfortunately, Azura couldn’t hear their clamor, and just as they couldn’t identify her as Azura Loomis from her appearance.
Mainly because the woman in front of them had dry, coarse hair, and the skin that was exposed was also rough.
She just didn’t look like Azura Loomis.
Azura took Mrs. Jennings not only as a precaution, but having secured the doll, she then left the nursery and turned to Jacob Zimmerman to instruct,
"Keep an eye on the doll inside, don’t let it run off."
"Got it."
Unknown to Azura, the moment she stepped out the door, someone was already reporting the news to Donovan Jennings.
As soon as Azura left, she boarded the car she had reserved in advance and confirmed with the system in her mind.
"Can you lock onto Scarlett’s location?"
System: [Although I cannot lock onto Scarlett’s actual presence, I can connect to the energy on several of the captured supernatural objects she took, and manipulate those objects to capture Scarlett’s presence.]
Originally with scarce energy, the energy it covered on these objects could only be used for concealment, and was in a disconnected state from the system; only if someone forcefully erased the energy could the system not be aware of it.
This was also the reason why the objects taken by Scarlett previously could not be detected by the system.
But now, it had ample fortune, and the energy converted from this fortune was enough to reconnect it to those dispersed energies and manipulate these energy forms.
Scarlett had initially taken those supernatural objects from the Jennings Family to keep them from alerting others. This time the system planned to use these objects to blindside her with a backstabbing move.
"Then take action." A glint of sharpness flashed across Azura’s eyes.
As her words fell, the system rapidly disseminated instructions, and the energy that was originally attached to several supernatural objects for concealing presences merged swiftly into them.
In almost an instant, the several supernatural objects emitted a massive amount of malevolent energy, breaking through the seals Scarlett had placed on them, and then, driven by a subconscious intent, sought out the source of her spiritual power...
These objects, which Azura had been directed by the system to collect, contained a significant amount of resentful energy from the dead and were intrinsically imbued with a resentful aura. With the system’s energy amplifying them, ordinary masters had no way to defend against it.
Even if Scarlett Jennings narrowly escaped, she was bound to suffer significant damage.
Azura Loomis was now on her way to witness Scarlett’s fate, and meanwhile, on behalf of the system, to harvest the Jennings Family fortune linked with her.
Once the fortune associated with three members of the Jennings Family was in her hands and she reclaimed the supernatural objects taken by Scarlett, roughly half of the Jennings Family’s fortune would fall into her grasp.
With this thought, Azura felt a thrill of excitement.
The direction Azura had the driver take was based on the system’s sensing of the supernatural objects, but now looking at the direction the car was going, Azura was somewhat surprised.
"The Jennings residence? Scarlett actually left those supernatural objects at the Jennings place?"
This saved her some trouble.
With that thought, Azura simply had the driver continue all the way to the Jennings family mansion.
The security outside the mansion recognized Azura, she went through face-validation to enter, and the car stopped right in front of the Jennings’ main entrance.
As she arrived early, all of the Jennings Family were at home, aware of her return, Lucas Jennings was the first to rush out from the mansion, pointing and cursing at her,
"Azura Loomis! You still have the face to come back?!"
Knowing that she had brought so many harmful things into the house, Lucas Jennings lost all pretense of politeness towards Azura Loomis. His face was filled with disgust, wishing he could just kick her out of the Jennings Family immediately.
But after getting a clear look at Azura Loomis’s appearance, Lucas could not help but let out a surprised "Huh?"
"Wasn’t it said that Azura Loomis has come back? Is this Azura Loomis?"
Lucas asked the butler standing nearby. The butler stared at Azura Loomis seriously for a few seconds before finally saying,
"Young Master, it is indeed Azura Loomis."
But for some reason, she looked a bit rough around the edges.
Lucas, who always spoke as he pleased, couldn’t help blurting out upon seeing Azura wrapped up like this,
"Azura Loomis, are you playing the part of an undead in broad daylight? Or have the dirty deeds you’ve done finally brought you retribution?"
Listening to Lucas’s words, Azura couldn’t help but clench her fists tightly in secret, and the next second, she heard the system’s voice in her mind,
[Target Scarlett Jennings, severely injured by the resentful energy from all directions, resentful energy has entered her body.]
Azura’s eyes brightened at the thought of Scarlett’s impending doom, and her anger suddenly subsided; instead, she asked with a relaxed tone,
"Where is Scarlett Jennings? I came here looking for her."
Upon hearing her ask directly for Scarlett Jennings, and calling her by full name compared to the pretentiously affectionate way she used to call her Scarlett or little sister Scarlett, Lucas’s expression immediately turned vigilant,
"What do you want with my sister?"
Azura looked at him, suddenly took off her sunglasses, and smiled at him with her eyes curving,
"You don’t know yet? Scarlett Jennings is about to die. Of course, I’m here to see her for the last time."
Her voice pretended to be gentle, but a careful listener could detect the malice within.
Lucas was almost instantly riled up, pointing at Azura with an angry face,
"Azura Loomis! How dare you curse my sister?!"
Azura, now empowered with an energy-abundant system, naturally did not take Lucas seriously and responded with unconcern,
"What I’m saying is the truth."
Scarlett had already been eroded by resentful energy, and once the system took away her fortune later, Azura estimated that she would not live much longer.
This was the price for opposing her and the system within her.
Azura thought it a matter of course, only to hear a clear and mocking voice coming from behind,
"I’m about to die? Since when?"
Lucas’s eyes suddenly lit up, and he swiftly turned to look behind Azura.
Azura also turned around in surprise, and at first glance, she saw Scarlett standing there, not showing any sign of injury, looking even somewhat rosy and pretty.
"How come you..."
Azura wanted to ask how she was unharmed, but Scarlett did not bother with small talk, simply raised her hand to begin an incantation,
"Supreme heaven and earth, encompassing all, spirits and evil from every direction, dare not flee..."
The system inside Azura felt an ominous premonition upon hearing her incantation, and was just about to urge Azura to leave quickly when Scarlett had already finished the spell quickly, raised her hand, and cried out decisively,
"Bind!"
As Scarlett uttered the last command, a Golden Light Talisman abruptly rose from beneath Azura’s feet.
The Talisman swiftly transformed into Rune Chains, binding Azura’s feet and her entire body firmly in place.
