The Fallen Hero Reincarnates as the Demon King's Son-Chapter 13 - 12 - History Has Changed
Chapter 13 - 12 - History Has Changed
Caliste was now on the other side of the table, next to Fleur, the future top student at the Demonic Academy. Aleia was on his right, and she was on his left.
On the other hand, there was Ava next to Alder and his wife.
The tension was at an all-time high as Ava and Alder kept talking over each other, trying to argue about who was the best between Caliste and Fleur.
They were debating, arguing, and almost shouting at one point, while the rest sat in silence.
Caliste was just trying to figure out who Alder even was for his mother to be so riled up because of him.
Nevertheless, Caliste blocked out the noise from the constant shouting and peeked at Fleur on his right.
Now that he was closer, he was able to judge what her actual strength was like. Even now, Caliste didn't believe that she could do anything against him; she was much weaker.
However, while she was weaker compared to Caliste, she was very powerful for her age. The only reason why Caliste was stronger than her at this point in time was because of the system and Caliste's past life.
He had a lot more experience compared to her, and he was able to grow at a much faster rate because of the system. It was simply unfair to Fleur to even compare her with Caliste at this point.

Still, apart from her weaker strength, Caliste couldn't help but glance at her beauty.
She was a top beauty.
For some reason, every single female that Caliste had seen since his reincarnation was absolutely breathtaking.
She had long blonde hair and green, pearly eyes just like most elves. However, there was simply something about her that differentiated her from the rest. Maybe it was her toned body and perfect jawline. It was hard for Caliste to figure it out; however, one thing was sure: he wouldn't mind becoming "friends" with her even if their parents didn't like each other.
Fleur seemed to notice that Caliste was staring at her, as she also turned her head, frowning slightly. But she stayed silent and kept observing her surroundings.
"Caliste is much stronger. He's the son of the Demon King! That's why he doesn't need to take any test to enter the best academy in the world!"
They kept saying the same things over and over again, and honestly, everyone was getting tired of it.
"Mhm... is it possible to change the subject?" Alder suddenly said in an icy tone.
"Right... sorry."
Immediately, Alder shut his mouth as he noticed the glares that he had been receiving. The same thing happened to Ava, who noticed how her favorite son was staring.
"Um. Um." She coughed twice, shutting her mouth. "Right, I'm sorry."
"I still didn't introduce myself," Alder suddenly said, looking at both Caliste and Aleia. "My name is Alder Champlin. I am the son of Luther Champlin, one of the great saviors of this world who created a long-standing peace with the demons. It is a pleasure to meet you two."
Caliste bit his lower lip.
Hard. Extremely hard.
He was trying his best not to say anything. He needed to keep a straight face, but at the mention of that bastard, it was impossible.
He clenched his fists, biting down on his lips so hard that it caused a small cut to appear.
'That son of a bitch is now a savior?!'
Caliste had managed to find very limited information about his past "friends." However, he had never really been able to find much information about how they were treated today, and what Alder had just said infuriated Caliste to the highest degree.
"Savior?" Caliste muttered as he tried his best to hide the small amount of blood coming from his lips. "How is he a savior?"
Anger seeped out in Caliste's tone, which surprised everyone sitting around the table, including his very own mother and sister, who weren't sure what was going through their son's mind.
Alder laughed a little. "Haha! Isn't it obvious? He made a deal with the Demon King and saved the entire world from its destruction, defeating the greedy so-called hero, Caliste, who is the real traitor of this story."
Caliste tried his best. He really did. He wanted to stay calm and just remain silent as the absurdities kept pouring out of that elf's mouth. But he just couldn't.
"Caliste... the real traitor?"
He took his time and spoke very slowly, the anger in his tone rising, surprising everyone sitting around the table.
Alder wasn't sure what was happening, and when he tried to ask for help from Ava, she looked just as lost.
"Yes, that's history. That's how things happened."
Caliste began laughing out of nowhere. "That's a good joke. Your so-called savior backstabbed his friend on the finish line and betrayed him? You call that being a hero, a savior? What the hell are you even talking about?"
Alder frowned. "Everyone knows that this was one of the hardest decisions of their lives. A decision that was for the greater good, as Caliste would not listen to reason."
Caliste was furious. 'Those son of bitches really twisted history to make themselves look good, didn't they?'
"Right... heroes..."
Caliste just shut his mouth. He was the son of the Demon King right now. He couldn't say the things that he wanted, and he also didn't know if those were the facts that had been spread. The history had been modified for their own good for the last 100 years.
'This will just make my revenge even sweeter. And I'll start with those two,' Caliste thought as he eyed Alder's wife and Fleur.
Caliste couldn't go after those bastards just yet. However, he could go after their families, and that's exactly what he would be doing.
'I'll turn your entire family against you, and I'll show you what it feels like to be betrayed, Luther,' Caliste swore to himself, taking two deep breaths.
