The Fallen Hero Reincarnates as the Demon King's Son-Chapter 18 - 17 - Demonic Academy!
Chapter 18 - 17 - Demonic Academy!
"So this is the Demonic Academy?" Caliste muttered to himself.
He had had quite the rough morning. His body felt completely drained because of all the "action" he had gotten last night.
He hadn't managed to tell his mother and sister to leave him alone. They had entertained him for the better part of the night. Still, thinking about it made Caliste smile.
He had enjoyed it thoroughly, and he knew they had as well.
The Demonic Academy was quite far from the Demon King's Castle. As far as Caliste remembered, based on the discussion he had with his guide, it was in the Land of "Freedom."
A city that was ruled equally by all leaders.
Elves, Dwarves, Demons, Dragons, and more. All of them had their place in this place, which was known as a neutral territory where all races were equal.
'Those bastards are all hiding somewhere far away...'
There was only one person on Caliste's mind. A person that, no matter how hard he searched, he had never managed to find any information about.
It was Darla, the witch of the Hero Party.
He had read countless books. Most of them didn't even mention her, and those who did simply said that she had disappeared after the heroes had made peace with the Demon King.
Ever since Caliste had read those things, he knew that there was something deeply wrong about what had happened to her.
Darla was a key member of the party, and she was someone that everyone liked a lot. Alek and Thorin were even interested in her romantically. Hell, even Caliste had been at one point.
She was just a nice person, and on top of that, she was powerful and beautiful. There was little that anyone could reproach her for.
Darla was also not someone who was scared of taking fights, which was why her disappearance was so strange.
'Did she betray the rest of them?' Caliste thought, trying to remember how she had acted in her final moments.
However, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't remember.
His death was fuzzy in general. Maybe it was his mind trying to protect him, but all he knew was that the people he trusted the most had betrayed him without a care in the world, throwing him away like some trash.
'Let's hope that the Demonic Academy's Library has some more information about her,' Caliste thought; otherwise, he would never be able to find a clue about her.
If they had changed history and hidden all traces of her... then there was not much that Caliste could do. Still, there was one thing Caliste was convinced of.
Darla was alive.
She was the second strongest in the party, closely following behind Caliste.
If anything, she could get away from the rest of them without problems.
The reason why Caliste hadn't been able to do that back then was that he was occupied with fighting against the Demon King. He couldn't deal with enemies from both sides, especially unexpected ones.
"Is that him?"
Suddenly, a voice entered Caliste's mind.
"I think so... it seems he arrived alone."
"Tsk. Just look at him; he doesn't even look all that powerful. The only reason he's even here is because he's the son of the Demon King. It's unfair for those who failed in the Entrance Test."
People were bound to talk, and Caliste just ignored them, not even glancing at them.
He knew that the worst thing he could do was give them attention.
But then, just as he continued to mind his business, he tried to take a step forward and bumped into the chest of someone.
'Who?' Caliste thought as he slowly looked up and saw a smirk.
The man was at least twice as tall as Caliste, and his body was honestly impressive. His muscles were massive, much bigger than his own. However, at no point in time was Caliste ever worried. While this man might look impressive, he wasn't strong.
"Watch where you're going, trash," the man uttered as Caliste was pushed back slightly.
Caliste frowned as he glanced around.
Everyone was looking, wondering what he would do as a reaction. He was the son of the Demon King; he couldn't be pushed around like this. He needed to show everyone that he wasn't someone who could be bullied.
"Heh. You couldn't even land a finger on me if you tried," Caliste said as he continued on his way.
The man then tried to grab Caliste's shoulder. However, just as his hand was about to make contact, Caliste grabbed it and twisted so hard that a loud bone-cracking noise was heard.

"ARGHHHHH!"
The man immediately dropped to his knees as he started shouting, his hand and arm completely broken in seconds.
"W-What the hell did you just do to me?"
Caliste kept a neutral expression.
"I taught you a lesson." Caliste raised his voice. "And let me be clear: if anyone is unhappy with my presence, they can say it right now. I'll fight against anyone who thinks I'm weaker than them."
Caliste smirked as he got another idea. "Also, if I lose even once in any of the fights, I'll leave the Academy right away."
Everyone's jaws dropped. They couldn't believe the words that had come out of Caliste's mouth. However, they had seen what Caliste had just done.
And the craziest thing was that he hadn't broken the hand and arm of just anyone.
He had done it to Lux Reginald, a student ranked in the top 20 of all students.
Caliste jumped on a random rock and shouted, "So, does anyone here want to duel me? It doesn't matter who you are."
Then seconds passed, and whispers spread around the campus. Everyone was hesitating about what to do. After all, this was a great opportunity to show off their strength, but it could also lead to humiliation.
It was truly a double-edged opportunity.
"I, Fleur Champlin, accept your proposition."
Suddenly, a voice that Caliste knew very well echoed and reached his ear.
Caliste smirked. 'Time to teach you a lesson.'
