The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard-Chapter 1515: Because I Added Skyfire Grass
Chapter 1515: Chapter 1515: Because I Added Skyfire Grass
"The competition begins!"
Carson Flores and Archie Cooke began their operations simultaneously, both moving with fluid precision that left no room for error.
While Archie Cooke worked, he kept an eye on Carson. Seeing Carson’s nearly flawless movements, his expression grew visibly more serious.
Carson Flores was no amateur!
If Archie wanted to win, he would need to give it his absolute best!
Archie took a deep breath, forcing himself to block out Carson’s presence and focus solely on alchemy. He believed that as long as he maintained his concentration, the elixirs he refined would undoubtedly surpass Carson’s in quality!
Victory would be his!
He had refined this elixir many times before; success was inevitable. Now, the key to winning lay in quality!
Archie ignored Carson completely, closing off all distractions and refusing even a single glance in his rival’s direction. He focused his entire being on his own work.
From the perspective of concentration, although Archie was young, his composure and confidence exceeded that of many seasoned Alchemists.
Carson was no different, diligently focusing on refining his own elixirs.
The two didn’t look at each other—not even a sidelong glance.
They both knew their opponent would undoubtedly complete their elixir; the real competition was in quality and speed. Since that was the case, why bother watching the other side?
All that mattered was focusing on their own work.
"Time’s up! Contestants, please stop what you’re doing!"
Carson and Archie simultaneously lifted their heads to look at one another.
Archie’s gaze flicked to the completed elixirs on Carson’s porcelain plate. His eyes narrowed slightly.
Neither said a word.
Both elixirs appeared to be of exceptional quality—at least on the surface, they seemed indistinguishable.
As for the refining time?
It seemed to be roughly the same as well.
There were differences, but they were minor. However, the first step was to judge the elixir quality.
All eyes in the audience were fixed on the two of them, waiting for the final result in suspense.
The Referee Supervisor inspected the refined elixirs from both contestants, frowning slightly.
"The quality of these two elixirs is approximately the same. A surface inspection cannot determine the winner. Are both contestants willing to proceed with a live test?"
"Agreed!"
Carson and Archie answered simultaneously, accepting the proposal without hesitation.
The so-called live test involved the use of live animals to ingest the elixirs, then observing their reactions. However, since the elixir in question was the Bloodthirsty Pill, there was a simpler and more direct method to determine its effectiveness.
By using the same type of animal or Demonic Beast—similar in size and condition—and giving them the same pill designed to stimulate combat power, the one that survived the ensuing battle would determine the victor!
The Bloodthirsty Pill’s effect was to drive the user into a state of madness, greatly amplifying combat power. However, it came at a steep cost and was rarely consumed unless one faced a life-or-death situation.
Two Blood Frenzy Hounds of similar size and age were brought to the arena’s center. Though still caged, the two hounds had already locked eyes on each other, growling savagely as if intent on tearing the other apart.
Two Bloodthirsty Pills were fed to the hounds, and soon after consumption, their eyes turned bloodshot, madness and brutality gleaming within. Their bodies even swelled slightly, visibly growing larger.
When the barriers were lifted, the two Blood Frenzy Hounds lunged at each other, beginning a brutal and savage battle.
Both hounds experienced a surge in combat power, attacking ferociously without the slightest hint of defense. They were completely berserk, each singularly focused on ripping the other to pieces.
Carson and Archie stood silently on either side of the arena, watching the vicious struggle without any visible emotion.
The quality of their pills was nearly identical, and the refining time wasn’t much different either. Neither would agree to determine the winner based on the time taken to refine, so their pills’ quality would ultimately decide the outcome.
Initially, everyone believed this battle between the Blood Frenzy Hounds would be extremely close, with no clear advantage on either side. But they were all wrong.
After only a few exchanges, the hound that had consumed Carson’s Bloodthirsty Pill charged forward fearlessly, ignoring its opponent biting into its leg. It overpowered its adversary, clamping down on its throat with brutal finality.
The victor was decided!
The hound that had consumed Carson’s pill had its leg entirely bitten off, yet it seemed wholly unaffected by the pain. Even in its maimed state, it exuded the majesty of a lion king!
Fearless!
Frenzied!
Bloodthirsty!
Savage!
Archie stared at the victorious hound, which was now howling madly and furiously thrashing within the wooden pen. His expression was vacant.
He had lost?
Why had his Bloodthirsty Pill failed so miserably?
Archie raised his head, a trace of bewilderment in his eyes. "I’m confident that the quality of my Bloodthirsty Pill isn’t inferior to yours. Why was the result so drastically different? Could it be due to individual differences between the two hounds?"
Carson smiled faintly, his tone calm. "I added Skyfire Grass."
Archie’s eyes widened in shock. "Skyfire Grass? Why would you add that?"
Carson chuckled slightly. "Didn’t you notice that there was an extra ingredient among the provided materials? I don’t think it was an oversight; it was intentional. Bloodthirsty Pills don’t require Skyfire Grass, but when added, it enhances the pill’s effects by at least thirty to fifty percent..."
