The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard-Chapter 1539: You may have the will, but not the power!
Chapter 1539: Chapter 1539: You may have the will, but not the power!
"What do we do now?"
"Wait!"
Carson Flores smiled and said, "I don’t think it will be long before we meet the people from Crystal Palace, but I wonder if I’ll be fortunate enough to witness the underwater palace!"
Carson and the others didn’t wait long. Just half a day later, there was a knock on the courtyard door.
The one knocking was an elegant middle-aged man, followed by a man and a woman. The man was in his thirties, robust as a tower with an imposing aura, while the woman was beautiful but wore a cold expression, exuding an aura that warned strangers to keep their distance.
Vance Holt had already sensed their arrival and personally opened the door, cautiously watching the man in front of him.
Alfred Weaver stood in the courtyard, smiling slightly at the middle-aged man: "Uncle Stone, your niece Alfred Weaver greets you!"
The middle-aged man’s eyes fell on Alfred Weaver’s face, showing a hint of a smile: "I heard you had disappeared before. Your father even came to my Crystal Palace looking for you. Now that you’re safely back, he just happened to be far away, missing you completely."
Alfred Weaver stepped aside: "Uncle Stone, please come in!"
The middle-aged man was, of course, Ellen Stone of the Southern Sea’s Crystal Palace. He casually walked into the courtyard and said, "It seems you’re in some trouble?"
Alfred Weaver did not hide anything, answering, "My whereabouts were exposed. Maggie Fitzgerald, along with two Heavenly Immortal realm and a group of Golden Immortal individuals, ambushed me outside Southern Kite City. Even though we killed one Heavenly Immortal and several Golden Immortals, we were still outmatched and had to hide. Their spies are everywhere in the city now, so I must be cautious."
Ellen Stone frowned, "They have people in Southern Kite City as well?"
Alfred Weaver replied, "Based on our observations, there are many spies at the entrance to the Airship Docking Field and outside the South Garden Sea Line, but we’re not sure who they belong to."
Ellen Stone turned his head to the robust man: "Go and find out!"
"Yes!"
The robust man turned and left, his figure disappearing.
Ellen Stone turned back to Alfred Weaver, smiling, "Since you call me Uncle, on this Southern Sea land, I will certainly not let you suffer any grievances."
Alfred Weaver thanked him again.
Seeing this scene, Carson Flores felt a slight relief in his heart, thinking that Alfred Weaver’s assessment of Ellen Stone was correct.
No matter if he would intervene or take the Celestial Palace’s side, at least he would protect Alfred Weaver, preventing her from being bullied.
Ellen Stone asked, "The Celestial Palace is so far from the Southern Sea, why did you risk coming to see me?"
Alfred Weaver softly replied, "My father left the Immortal Domains five hundred years ago and has been unheard of since. For these five hundred years, the Celestial Palace has been without a leader, and various forces in the Immortal Domains are restless. I was fortunate to return and expose Maggie Fitzgerald’s true nature, thereby sensing the hidden threat of the Heavenly Alliance."
"A major change may be imminent in the Thunder Immortal Realm, and every continent in the Immortal Domains might be engulfed in chaos. I hope Uncle Stone can step forward to support the Celestial Palace and intimidate the schemers, preventing the Skyland Continent from falling into turmoil..."
Ellen Stone frowned, "Is the situation already so dire?"
Alfred Weaver nodded, "Uncle Stone, multiple sources suggest that the Heavenly Alliance is hidden underwater. Many Sects have already been quietly subdued by them. Once they act, it will be earth-shattering, and the forces loyal to the Celestial Palace will be the first to be targeted..."
Ellen Stone was silent for a moment, then shook his head and said, "You overestimate your Uncle Stone. While my personal strength is decent, I am nothing in the face of such large-scale movements. Besides, after what happened back then, I lost interest in involving myself in mainland affairs, and your father knows this."
Alfred Weaver’s expression changed slightly. She hadn’t expected Ellen Stone to refuse so straightforwardly, and for a moment, she didn’t know what to say. If she directly appealed to emotions, it would seem like she was trying to repay a favor.
Ellen Stone roughly understood Alfred Weaver’s thoughts and laughed: "Your father was a hero, valued personal strength, and didn’t necessarily care much about the title of Celestial Palace Master. Why should a child like you take on such a heavy responsibility?"
"Since the great building is about to collapse, it would be better to retreat in advance to preserve the safety of those who follow, maintain strength, and protect yourself. You can come to Uncle Stone’s Crystal Palace, and no matter what happens outside, Uncle Stone will ensure your safety."
"Let them fight if they want to fight. You should quietly cultivate and improve your strength. If your father returns someday, with his strength, dealing with those rebels would be easy."
"The Immortal Path is long; why fight for temporary gains?"
After hearing Ellen Stone’s words, Alfred Weaver pursed her lips and bowed, "Thank you, Uncle Stone, for your protective intentions. However, my father once led many subordinates to quell the Thunder Immortal Realm conflict, completely unifying the Immortal Domains and bringing tranquility. Even though he’s not present now, as his daughter, I cannot just pursue my own peace while watching the entire Immortal Domain fall into chaos again..."
Ellen Stone sighed, "Alfred, to be frank, if your father were here, these people might have ambitions but wouldn’t necessarily dare to act. Even with your ambitions, you probably lack the strength..."
