"What kind of trial is this exactly? I've been walking for hours and yet nothing." Dustin said.

No matter how he looked at it, something was just wrong, he couldn't put a finger on it, but he could just tell that things weren't going quite right. After thinking for some seconds, Dustin decided that the best way was to spread his field of search, as this was the most basic thing to do in such a situation. Luckily for him, he had the numbers to complete this task without stress.

Dustin, on the spot brought out the entire wolf beasts he had tamed, which were more than 900 in number and instructed them to spread out and search the whole surrounding for any other monster or a place of interest. Receiving the command, the wolves spread out to carryout Dustin's instructions.

After sending the wolves, Dustin decided it would be counter effective for him to also continue searching around, so for the moment he just walked to a tree and sat under it while munching on some snacks. The aspect of feeding was also there, and if it came down to it, eating monster meat would suffice.

After sitting there for about an hour waiting for the wolves to bring back news, Dustin received something from one of the wolves, it must have encountered something. Whether it was a monster or beast it encountered, or just something of interest, he didn't care, as far as it was something. Since Dustin shared connection with each of his tamed beasts, he could communicate with them even though they were far away from him, but the thing was the farther they were apart, the lesser the commands he can give. If they were close enough like right next to him, depending on the tamed beast or monster, they could hold a conversation. If they were far apart enough, the only thing they would be able to do was make simple words or sentences.

Ordering all other wolves to continue their search, Dustin brought out one of the tigers and rode its back towards the location of the wolf that gave him the signal. On getting there, Dustin noticed the wolf circling around a mound of rock and bones that glimmered with green illumination from within, escaping through the narrow cracks.

The mound and the surrounding area gave off a faint aura of something foul and ominous, but then it was the only thing around the entire wide spread area, so Dustin couldn't help but want to maybe crack it open or push off a few rocks to see what was within. He hesitated a bit, as when things like this appeared, it only meant something was sealed with it in most cases, at least that was if the movies were to be taken into account.

Dustin waited for a bit as he just observed the surroundings, while contemplating on the choice to make. Tempering with this structure might turn out to be a blessing, or maybe it would become a curse if he was unlucky.

Just then while he was thinking, he received another signal from one of the wolves, this time in the opposite direction.

Dustin stared at the mound that glimmered with the green light for a second, then he turned to the tiger behind him and got on its back. The wolf that found this mound was unsummouned before Dustin left. Maybe the other wolf found something similar, since just like this one it didn't seem to be in distress. After Dustin got to the other wolf, his thoughts were confirmed, as his speculations turned out to be what he faced. Just like the other place, there was also a mound here that looked identical to the one one the other side.

After a while of contemplating, Dustin finally made up his mind. For all he knew, this might be the means for him to possibly get out of this place. At this point, Dustin had already made the possibility that he was transported to a different place entirely from the dungeon. It was no new thing for Dungeons to have such traps, so he didn't discredit the possibility.

...

"Have you gotten rid of him?" The messenger asked.

"Yes, I have. I sent him to the land of divide." His assistant answered. ƒ𝘳𝗲𝑒𝒘𝐞𝚋𝚗𝐨v𝘦l.𝒄o𝐦

"..." "You did what? The land of divide? Do you realise what you have done?" He asked in a calm voice, much like his normal voice.

"Well, you said to get rid of him right?"

"Heh, I didn't mean for you to kill him, I just wanted him gone for a while so that the things we set would be able to function as intended without him there to spoil it."

"It doesn't matter in the end, does it." The assistant said.

"No, but he was a good seed though.. No problem if one dies, there are others that'll make up for it."

"At least he won't get torn apart by monsters before he dies, he'll die of hunger or something."

'Is she insane? Isn't that more horrible?'

...

Dustin standing under a moonless sky looked at the mound, then with his foot, he pushed the top part of the mound, but just like something held with a strong adhesive, it didn't even budge. He was sure that the rocks and bones were only placed on each other, but he still couldn't budge it. Maybe the light from within was what was holding everything in place, so Dustin took out his axe and took a swing at the mound. After three swings, he finally managed to shake the mound, and got some rocks to fall.

When Dustin destroyed the mound, the green light from within exploded outward and spread far wide, then in the next instant, it imploded, and then the light was sucked into the centre of the mound. After this, several shadowy figures jumped out of the mound that had just sucked in the light, and as they did it didn't seem like they would never end. It seemed like an infinite number of these shadowy figures, it was like opening a dam, but the opening was only as big as a door.

Dustin jumped multiple times away from the mound, as he tried to understand what was happening. He got him self several tens of metres away from the mound he had just destroyed, and from that distance watched the figure of several shadows of different sizes spewing out from the mound. Because of the nature of this place, it made it hard for him to see in the night, so he couldn't tell exactly what kind of beasts or monsters the shadows were.

He hadn't thought about it before, but even without a moon, the entire place still had some form of illumination that didn't seem to come from anywhere, but even then, this was only able to allow him see just some few metres away from himself comfortably, everything past a certain point was nothing but a shadow.

The shadows that came out didn't remain in one place, some did, but the majority just took off the moment they touched ground.

Dustin who had moved himself farther away from where the mound was stood under a tree and observed the scene before him carefully trying to make sense of what was happening.

'System, what are these monsters? Or are they beasts.' Dustin asked in his mind.

..'These creatures are known as Night Creatures, as they can only exist in the night and would perish under sunlight. They naturally don't like areas with light or any source of illumination, and would do anything they can to remove any light source close to them.' The system said.

Dustin hearing this was a little dumb founded. The monsters before him were not even normal monsters, but night creatures. The system also went on to explain more about these creatures as requested by Dustin, and what he understood was that these guys were of different types, but were all made from the same source. Despite their diversity, they were not monsters that fought against each other, but regardless of rank worked together to achieve their goal.

As for the different types, Dustin would learn of them as time goes on, the good thing he needed to know was that the ones before him were not out of his league, and he could still fight them. The ones close to him and the ones that had been coming out were E rank and D rank Night Creatures, so he still stood a chance against them. The only problem was that, these were the weakest ones.

The fact that these creatures were hostile towards every other being was a problem, and also, the fact that they they had the darkness attribute, as it was what they were born from was also a big problem, but one Dustin was yet to know of. 𝑓𝓇𝑒𝑒𝚠e𝘣𝓷𝘰ѵe𝑙.com

'I wonder what their body if made of? Flesh or something else entirely.' Dustin said. He knew that the moment he moved from where he stood, he would get attacked, so he prepared himself well.
