The Forbidden Heiress At The All Male Alpha Academy-Chapter 142: Kael and Lyra
Theo found herself cradled in Zeke’s arms when she woke up the next morning. He was in the bathroom, patting his wet face with a towel when she woke up. It was surprising that she had woken up after him today. What was even more shocking was how he refused to go anywhere without her in his arms, like she was too fragile to be left alone, even if it was for a second.
She blinked, then yawned tiredly.
Zeke looked down at her, "Hey," He said softly.
"Good morning," She managed a smile, "What time is it?"
"Around 7am. You were-"
She suddenly jumped out of his arms, panic flaring in her, "I’m gonna be late for class!"
"Huh?" He turned around and stared as she tried to take off her clothes and turned on the shower, "You care about class too much,"
She didn’t answer. She reached out and started to pull off her shirt when she paused, feeling his gaze on her, then narrowed her eyes at him, "Some privacy, please!"
"No,"
"What do you mean, no?!"
"I’ve seen every beautiful part of you, there’s nothing to hide anymore,"
"That’s not how I feel," She groaned and walked up to him. Then, she pressed against his back and pushed him toward the door, "You’re going to make me late!"
"Let’s shower together!"
"No!" She cried, flushed.
"Let me watch you take a shower!"
"No!"
"Please,"
She paused and opened the door, "Some other day, now leave!" She gave him a soft shove and he stumbled out of the bathroom with a silly grin on his face.
After a while, she walked out of the bathroom wearing his towel. As she rushed around the room to get ready, Zeke lay on his bed watching her like it was his favourite thing to do.
She threw on her silver coat since it was assembly day, then asked, "Aren’t you gonna get ready for class?"
"I would rather tear off your clothes and have you gasping for air,"
Why did she even bother asking him? "You’re a naughty student," She hid a smile.
"You like me naughty, Hellcat,"
The smile appeared, and she grabbed her bag, "See you later, Zeke,"
As she walked up to the door about to leave, she heard him ask, "Something happened between you and Liam last night, right?"
Her hand tightened on the doorknob.
"I caught his scent where I found you last night crying. The only reason he still has his limbs intact is because I know he’s your friend, and as far as I know friends, I at least know they don’t make each other cry. What happened between you two last night?"
Telling Zeke that Liam confessed his love, which led to the fight, wasn’t a very good decision. Zeke would probably kill anyone who even glanced at her in that way, "Let’s talk about it when I get back to the dorm. I’m already late,"

The Dominion hall was dim, with torches lining the stone walls and their flames flickering like restless wolves. The stage was marked, but Kael and Lyra stood too close to care about it.
Zeke stood, his shoulders rigid. Pride and fury were carved in his back, and his eyes were fixed on the woman in front of him. Ava faced him without flinching, her chin lifted and eyes sharp with prophecy and defiance.
This is the part where Kael and Lyra finally admit their feelings for one another.
"Your visions poisoned your pack against mine. You don’t get to stand here and pretend innocence," Kael said coldly
"And you don’t get to pretend you didn’t enjoy burning us down," She fired back angrily
He steps closer, just one step, but the air tightened in response, "My duty was to destroy my enemies."
"I’m also your enemy. Why do you hesitate every time you look at me?"
Silence passed between them, then Kael exhaled slowly with something he’d been holding back for months, "Because I see it," He lowered his voice, "Every time you speak, every time you breathe—I feel something clawing inside me."
"I saw it long before you did," Lyra swallowed, her eyes softening.
"You saw it?" Kael inched even closer.
"I saw you standing in fire, bleeding, but still reaching for me," She confessed, her voice trembling, "And I hated you for it... because no matter how many futures I looked into, I never chose one where I didn’t love you," 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
The words hit him like a blow, and Zeke’s hands curled at his sides. When he spoke again, it was raw and unguarded, "I’ve fought wars with less fear than I’ve fought this,"
He lifted his hand a little hesitantly... then cupped her face like it was a sin he was finally committing.
"If I kiss you now, Lyra... I won’t stop."
She leaned into his touch with a slow breath, "Then don’t."
Their forehead touched, and their breaths mingled. The whole room was holding its breath watching them as Kael achingly lowered his mouth toward hers.
Just a breath away, and he would kiss her.
BANG.
A metal stand crashed to the floor, and the sound echoed violently through the hall. Everyone turned to the cause of the noise.
Zeke jerked back immediately, and Ava stepped back like she finally had a good reason to move away from him.
"Oh, shit! I’m so sorry!" Theo blurted out, already rushing forward to pick up the stand, "I didn’t see that there, my fault, totally my fault!"
Jocelyn groaned with a slight eye roll.
Theo picked up the stand and placed it back where it belonged, unable to look back at the stage. That acting had felt too real, and she was doing everything she could to not walk up there and rip something into shreds.
Seraphina was a jealous, possessive, angry mess. She kept whispering violent words, dragging her claws down Theo’s chest and urging her to rip out every strand of Ava’s hair, one by one.
Or rather, Lyra.
*This is what we have to keep up with. They’re just acting!* Theo said for the umpteenth time.
*I know!* Seraphina growled, *Shut up! Just do something to her. Punch her. Scar her forever. Anything!!!*
"Well then, shall we continue with the scene?" Jocelyn called from where she stood, still eyeing Theo suspiciously, "Ah, yes. Our leads were about to practice their kiss,"
