The Forbidden Heiress At The All Male Alpha Academy-Chapter 205: The Connection
*What do you mean by ’when will the procedures start?’ Are you actually looking forward to it? Do you know how insane that is? You should be finding a way out of this mess, not giving in to his manipulation. You shouldn’t be like this, Theo. You are supposed to—*
"ENOUGH!!!" The words tore out of her mouth like a wound ripping open, echoing out of her chest.
Seraphina went utterly still.
*Enough of everything,* she added, her chest heaving, *I am sick and tired of it all. Stop talking to me, stop concerning yourself with what I choose to do!*
*Of course I’ll concern myself. You just agreed to something that would erase your existence, Theo. You know what Cain is trying to achieve. He wants you out of the way so it’ll only remain the demon and I. I can’t lose you, Theo!*
*Well, you’re going to lose me* Theo said flatly. There was no anger now, just a hollow certainty *End of discussion,*
*No, it’s not the end,* Sera’s voice cracked, *I know you’re mad at me, after everything that has happened. But that doesn’t mean you should give up. Zeke and Sylas wouldn’t have wanted this for you*
*Well Zeke and Sylas are gone!* Theo spat back angrily, *They died in front of my eyes, and I have nothing left of them. Cain always gets what he wants. And I’m tired of fighting a war I was never meant to survive*
*You’ve never given up, Theo,* Seraphina said softly, *That’s one thing I’ve admired about you. And no matter how much hell you’ve been dragged through, you always believed there was a way out*
*Not this time* Theo whispered, *There’s no hope left for me. There’s just...endurance, and I don’t have any left in me. Leave me alone, Seraphina*
*I can’t let you just throw away your life!*
*Well, I don’t care what you think, okay?!* Theo forced back angrily, stomping up the stairs, *Your words don’t matter to me anymore. Not only did you hide the fact from me that you were dying, but you also...* Theo trailed off.
*But I also killed your mum. That’s what you were going to say, right?!*
Her lips quivered in pain, *I don’t blame you for that. You didn’t know what you were doing either,*
Seraphina quieted.
*But that doesn’t change anything between us. Because you knew what happened that night. You might not have killed her on purpose, but you remembered and you never told me. I thought my body had somehow erased the memory because of the trauma it caused, but it didn’t make much sense. And then there was you... always distracting my thoughts to somewhere else whenever I thought about the guilt, or my mother’s grave. I don’t know if it’s your way of trying to protect me, but I now hate you for it. I hate you for making that decision for me,*
*I’m sorry,* Seraphina said after a short while, *I just wanted to protect you from the hurt you’d have to carry for the rest of your life. And...,*
*And you didn’t want me to know that my own wolf was responsible for the death of my mother. You weren’t trying to protect me, Seraphina* Theo groaned, *You were only trying to protect yourself!*
*No! I—*
*And now I’m going to protect myself, Seraphina. I wake up every day, knowing I’m trapped here, knowing that even if I somehow escaped, Cain would always control me; he will always find me. I get up every day with the guilt that if I hadn’t gone to Gravemont, Zeke and Sylas would be alive. I get up regretting everything...* She paused and sighed, *And honestly, I’m tired of the pain I feel. The constant pain that won’t go away. It’ll always remain for as long as I live.*
*Please, Theo*
*I was stupid enough to think I wouldn’t make the same decision Lyra did when she lost everything. But now I think I understood what she felt back then, and why she gave up," A quiet, broken laugh left her lips, "But in this case, I don’t agree with the notion of ending my life with my own hands, so, I’ll just let someone else do it for me. At the very least, you’ll survive. Like Cain said, the procedure will save you,*
*And what makes you trust his words?!* Seraphina cried.
*It’s not like I have another choice!!* Theo paused in her steps, breathing hard.
Just a few more steps and she will be at her door, *Whether I like it or not, he will make me do it. Why not just accept it?!*
*Don’t do that, Theo* Seraphina whimpered, *Don’t accept this fate. Don’t let him decide how our story ends. I need you, Theo. I can’t survive without you,*
Theodora chuckled lightly, a tear rolling down her face. The tremors still shook her body, and the sight of Sylas and Zeke being choked to death and burnt like it was yesterday weakened her even more, *I’ve lost all the fight left in me. I don’t want to exist anymore, Seraphina,*
As she crossed down the hall again, Seraphina stirred inside her again. It was the same reaction that had happened a few times now, and Theo stopped walking and looked around.
She was standing in the same spot.
The exact same spot Seraphina had stirred all three times irregularly.
Weird.
What does that mean?!
Suddenly, she stirred again and this time, Theo heard a distant noise in her head. It sounded like someone was screaming from a far distance, too far for her to catch the voice.
She gripped the side of her already aching head. What is happening this time? Why couldn’t she have a moment of peace for once?!
*Someone...* Seraphina curled out in pain, *Someone is trying to form a connection with us*
*What?! How?!* 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
*I... don’t know,* she groaned.
The noise came again, distant and pained. Theo could hear the voice trembling shaking, trying and trying again.
*They want to speak to us?*
*I think so* Seraphina replied heavily.
Nothing like this has ever happened to her, and as much as she wanted to just leave the spot and tear off the connection, something didn’t sit right about this.
The person sounded like they were in pain.
And the fact that Seraphina had felt something a few times in this particular spot means the person has been trying to connect with her all this time. She couldn’t just walk away.
Theo tried to focus, still clutching her head tightly. Seraphina was too weak to carry the connection and kept gnawing in pain.
But Theo didn’t move.
She closed her eyes and kept still. She wanted to figure this out.
"...."
"...."
"The...ooo..."
"Theo..."
"THEO!"
Theo’s eyes snapped open.
Ava!
