The game has become a real alternate world-Chapter 748 - 430: The Next Step
Cliff City.
Following the conclusion of the ritual and some verbal agreements from the Wolf Lord.
The united army now has a legitimate presence here.
At this moment, they were sitting together with the Grassland Lord and some of his generals, engaged in discussions.
"I won't hide anything from you. What you see now is the best our forces can offer."
Grassland Lord said, pointing to the slightly rudimentary sand table in front of him.
On it were various chess piece figurines, along with the locations and forces of some detected Ratman camps.
The only young man standing around him was Artuka, who briefly introduced the forces they currently have.
First are the militia guards, which are the most numerous and can even grow in numbers.
Don't underestimate these militia forces; many of them possess impressive fighting strength.
The citizens of the Green Land Kingdom are mostly strong in martial prowess.
Even some women and children are not inferior to some men when it comes to fighting.
Let alone that many of these militia are self-equipped with horses and leather armor, each having some kind of weapon, even high-quality hunting bows.
With a little preparation, they can even form a cavalry unit within the militia corps with some hunters.
The current size is around 20,000, and with a slight conscription effort, it could easily double. But if it comes to that, it would be the final stand battle.
Next are various cavalry units.
This essentially reflects the characteristics of the Green Land Kingdom.
Various types of cavalry, with very few decent infantry.
This allows them to dominate the grasslands without impediment, but once they move beyond the grasslands, due to the weakness of infantry, they cannot fully unleash their potential.
This leads to their dominance in the grasslands, even establishing a stable dynasty here.
Yet, when attempting to expand outward, they encounter shortcomings.
Although successive Wolf Lords have had the intention to train superior infantry, each attempt has been met with little success.
The current Wolf Lord could be described as a wise and capable ruler, who seems to have such capabilities. But who can predict when faced with such a rat tide?
Perhaps due to the world's impending destruction, most forces have begun to emerge with individuals who possess strength, ideas, and means.
Among the various forces over the last decades or centuries, half of the rulers have emerged as wise leaders.
Perhaps this is the will of the world.
Bringing the thoughts back, the cavalry units in Cliff City are composed of ranger corps from various units.
They ride green-gray horses from the grasslands, which offer better concealment and stronger endurance.
It's considered one of the best horses in the Green Land Kingdom.
The prior Huerbei Cavalry was one such unit.
There are roughly around 10 such units of different sizes, with some preserved even better than others, and some only have two or three hundred left due to war.
The total number is about 6,000.
Next naturally are the elite Wolf Cavalry.
There are only two contingents.
With over 2,000 people in total.
One is led by Grassland Lord Batelda, and the other by Laharu and his forces.
Additionally, there are some scattered, non-structured small and medium-sized units.
The total forces amount to just over 30,000.
"Quite extravagant forces indeed," commented a nearby united army officer.
It's not surprising they say this, given the large proportion of cavalry included here.
Apart from the Green Land Kingdom, it's really hard to find elsewhere, which might be why the Green Land Kingdom has persisted until now.
Upon hearing these compliments, Laharu shook his head helplessly.
"Hence, the logistical pressure is immense, requiring giant eagles for communication between units. However, the Ratmen have already begun training some Falconers.
Our giant eagles suffered significant losses previously."
Simplistically speaking, they are now in a passive state, unable to take proactive action.
Kana nodded slightly.
In such detailed strategic planning, he was indeed not skilled. But it doesn't matter as long as, with the Night Watchers' assistance, they can grasp battlefield dynamics in real-time, and inter-unit communication is swift.
With the mobility of these forces, they can demonstrate absolute powerful outcomes.
The united army officers clearly understood this too. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
A commanding officer stated: "The Night Watchers possess unique blessings, enabling their abilities to be maximized on the battlefield.
I will combine them with our united army and the forthcoming logistical support and Green Land Kingdom's forces.
And then plan accordingly, shall we?"
The Grassland Lord nodded, signaling him to continue.
Soon, the combination emerged.
As expected, within each unit, varying numbers of Night Watchers were inserted to act as communication hubs.
Then a frontline command station was assembled.
The Grassland Lord's people didn't understand the capabilities of the Night Watchers but didn't interfere much with this arrangement.
After all, they really have no way to breakthrough their current predicament. Since the united army can arrive here and, as they mentioned, opened a situation on the other side, they can only trust them.
Of course, this was partly due to the previous verbal agreement achieved through the Wolf Lord's descent.
Though incomprehensible, they trusted.
"The first batch of simple logistical supplies will arrive soon. Before that, let's undergo some integration, planning the future attack route."
Kana simply summarized.
After everyone nodded, it was time for planning actions.
Through simple discussion, it was clear that they could not abandon the nearby City of the Two Serpents, just outside the Green Land Kingdom.
The so-called City of the Two Serpents are two Snake-man cities that are simply close together.
These two cities persisted due to the pressure divided by the nearby Green Land Kingdom and, also, they had equally favorable geographical conditions.
The cities straddle across a river, occupying very advantageous areas on both banks.
Making use of the complex river system advantages, they secured some food sources, persisting until now.
Yet, they are nearing their limit. Letters requesting assistance continuously arrive at the Grassland Lord's hand, but they are powerless.
After thinking for a moment, Kana said.
"I can lead a small force in that direction to help these two cities escape their current danger. Once merged, we could have more troops to open up the situation."
Hearing Kana's actions, the Grassland Lord's people were puzzled.
Quite obviously, leading a small number of people to do such a thing is dangerous. Even their robust leaders in the Green Land Kingdom rarely undertake such risky tasks.
But the united army commanders seemed accustomed to agreeing to Kana's proposal.
They will lead the main force towards Holy Mountain, provided that they first clear out the rats around Cliff City.
