Chapter 124: I’d be honored.

Things were different from then on. Rumor reached the whole palace about what had happened the night before at the coronation.

Lilith spun her web of rumors just the right way. If people knew of her future great granddaughter’s blessings people would try and use her or even worse kill her because they’re afraid of her abilities and being unable to control them. Not just vampires, others too. Demons, witches, even other shifters. She would be a target.

She had the palace believing that a the goddess only used Violet as a messenger, because a goddess deemed her worthy. She’d spun so people thought Violet was favored by the gods, not that their unborn princess was blessed with Divine Fyre.

Violet the following day went in search of Arya. The witch never answered her phone, so Violet didn’t bother calling. Morning sickness started today and every few minutes if she didn’t touch someone to feed, she’d start to get sick. The baby was very needy, or maybe it was her. she didn’t know but she was already exhausted with this part of it. She couldn’t wait to hold her baby girl. Meet her. Violet wandered the halls looking for Arya and wondering about what her little girl would look like.

A maid was walking by, that’s when Violet decided to ask her "Do you know where the witches are staying?"

"Which Coven, my Queen?" The maid asked her.

"Oh shoot, I don’t know. I’m looking for one witch in particular."

"Why don’t you just ask one of your court advisors. My Queen, they may be of more help, I am sorry I can’t help you with more, I don’t work where the witches are staying." The maid answered giving me a curtsy. It was different here, different now. The way people looked at her, spoke to her. It wasn’t like she was one of them, but now above them. She sighed displeased with the extreme formalities.

"Okay, I appreciate you anyways." I continued walking remembering Gabriel told me that I do not bow to anyone anymore, but they are to bow to me upon every greeting and departing.

Violet tried to pull her focus back to finding Arya.

There were quite a few covens that came, Violet didn’t really have the time to learn all of the covens of witches or clans of vampires and definitely none of the hordes of demons or shifter packs. So, few shifters were even invited. After what the wolves did, they were even more prejudice and weary of shifters. before becoming queen, but they’d be here for a few more days while they take the time to learn all about the different groups of people under their rule.

At the thought of being so ignorant, Violet felt a sense of guilt about it all. She’d been sheltered from the world of her own people, denied knowledge of their politics, and she’d just started learning the history of her people in school before she got pregnant. Gabriel suggested she continue her studies with a royal tutor, it wasn’t suitable for a Queen to attend a school full of her subjects, how it would be uncomfortable for her peers and teachers. How royal tutors would provide a better learning experience.

She remembered asking why the princes went to school. He said "It’s for appearance, and learning to understand your subjects, by living alongside them. It was important for all of us to go through this, so we understand the value of peace. To stop another war from break out.

Violet understood. She hated violence, so war was something she would want to desperately avoid. Her daughter would attend the same school when the time came for her.

Finding the throne room where court would be held later today. Her and Ash would sit in with Vlad when they receive their subjects and discuss requests and complaints.

Opening the doors Ash was sitting in the throne made for the king. Vlad in a seat next to him they were discussing something.

Violet approached them and Ash looked over, grinning ear to ear seeing his beautiful Queen grace the room he was sitting in.

"Hello, my Queen, it’s wonderful to see you looking so elegant and radiant." Ash greeted her.

Violet blushed at Ash’s compliments, even after everything they’ve been through, she still wasn’t used to the affectionate words from him. Which has only increased since they found out she was pregnant. Her heart warmed and instinctively Violet’s hand moved to her belly, and she rubbed it. It started becoming a habit.

"Hi." She said in her usual sweet tone. "I’m looking for Arya. I don’t know her covens name and with all the people and rooms in this place, it’s a little hard to find her."

Violet laughed lightly, slightly embarrassed by her naivety.

"I can help the Queen, my King." Said a smaller man who stood in front of the king.

"Then do so. Love, did you want me to come along?" Ash asked tenderly.

"No, that’s okay. I’ll join you after I see Arya." Violet walked up the steps to where Ash sat on the throne. "I love you."

"I love you more. Jeremy and Rosa want us to have lunch with them alone. They wanted dinner, but we have an important dinner with some emissary’s who haven’t had the chance to meet with us yet." Ash tiptoed around the incident that happened last, he didn’t want to stress her or the baby out. He wasn’t sure what his little princess would under pressure. She’s been growing increasingly bolder as the days go on. Violet was entering her second trimester in 8 weeks they’d have their baby.

"Okay." She clapped giddily. She turned toward the man who offered her help. "What’s your name?"

The man stumbled over himself trying to find the courage to speak to her directly. He’s never seen someone so beautiful. He wasn’t really good talking to women, and now he regretted coming forward and offering. Fearing how stupid he looked right now.

"I... I... I’m Stephen, my Queen." The man stuttered bowing to her. freēwēbηovel.c૦m

"Okay, Stephen, lead the way." She stretched out her hand.

The man Stephen moved quickly from his spot and walked out of the throne room.

"Don’t forget lunch." Ash yelled out to Violet.

Violet was on a mission to find Arya and let her know what she’s learned and what they plan to do about it.

It didn’t take Stephen long to locate her coven’s rooms. "This is the Circe Coven, my Queen. Is there anything else I help you with?"

"No, thank you though, that’s all." Violet answered grateful of his help in finding Arya’s coven and learning her name.

Violet reached out to knock on the door, but Arya opened it faster. "Finally, I’ve been waiting all day for you to come and find me."

"Why didn’t you come find me then? Do you know how hard I had searched for you? Which by the way, did you know how huge this place is? It’s like a labyrinth here."

"I know, why do you think I stayed here and waited for you?" Arya shrugged letting her into her residence.

"Wow, nice room." Violet spoke with awe in her voice her jaw draping slightly ajar.

"I know, right! I feel like I’m a princess. My little girl dreams come true. Not enough black, but girly and princess enough I can deal with the bad color scheme." She says excitedly "My little girl heart died and went to heaven."

Violet giggled, watching her friend dream big right in front of her.

"Now, tell me, what the hell was that last night?" Arya anxiously waited for Violet’s answer. Drumming her fingers on her knees, her legs tightly closed. She was practically vibrating with anticipation.

"The goddess blessed my baby, that’s for sure. Riley tried to kidnap me, so Odette burned him alive." Violet admitted. When she spoke of what happened with Violet, she couldn’t help but feel a little guilty. She looked down at her hands, fiddling them in her lap.

"She burned him? Like with Elemental magic? From inside the womb." Arya leaned back, crossing her arms looking at Violet with skepticism and disbelief.

"She burned him with Divine Fyre. Arya. You know what that means right?" Violet’s voice shook when she spoke. Her nerves had her raddled to the core.

"There’s no way. Absolutely impossible. That can’t be." Arya got up and responded the same as Lilith, she started pacing her room. Walking corner to corner.

"She used me to channel. It was all white everything and like she shoved me in the back of my own mind, where I could only watch through what felt like a tv screen view. It was unnerving." Violet admitted.

"Shit, Violet. What are you going to do? Are you going to bind her? You can’t just have a toddler walking around with the ability to burn souls. That’s so not safe, girl."

"Yes, we will bind her. We haven’t discussed the details, but we plan to before the she’s born. I was actually planning to ask you to do it. The spell. You’re the only witch I trust." Violet tells Arya.

"I’m the only witch you know actually, but I’m honored. Of course I’ll cast the spell for you." Arya gave Violet fist pump with a firm nod. Her smile was wide, she felt so much pride welling in her chest. Her friend trusted her enough to do a binding spell. That meant the world to her.

"You’re the best Arya." Violet jumped from her seat and pounced on Arya with a loving embrace.

"I know." Arya hugged Violet tightly back. "Okay, okay now let go."
