**Spoiler for Kidnapped for Revenge by a Ruthless Alpha***
Ash felt the charged static in the air. The hair on the back of his neck stood straight up and goosebumps prickled all over his skin. Ash stood unmoving and watching. Frozen in place, he couldn’t believe what he was witnessing. It was like his wife wasn’t his wife. Like Violet was someone else entirely. Ash watched in ecstasy and horror as his brother burned alive in a blazing white fire. Relished in in his brother’s agony. Was captivated with his lovely wife’s new power. When did she learn these abilities and why hadn’t he known she was capable of such destruction and chaos. It was beautiful and alarming.
Him and the rest of the guests watched with jaws wide open as one of the Pureblood Princes flesh melt off his bones and his bones crumbling to a pile of ashes on the ground. Then suddenly, the fire dispersed and Violet began falling to the ground, in an instant Ash dashed through the crowds reaching his volatile queen. Landing perfectly in his arms he pulled her close, the blinding white aura that once consumed her body and eyes faded away, leaving his pink queen asleep in his arms.
He could hear the heartbeat in her chest slow. Her breathing was normal. Everything looked normal. There wasn’t even scorched grass from where the fire had spread. It was still the same pristine green grass that had been there before the coronation began.
Ash gazed down at the small frail woman in his arms. Her enchanting beauty.
"I’m taking my queen back to our room, please continue to enjoy yourselves." Ash said standing up. She weighed next to nothing in his arms, lighter than a feather with his strength. The crowd parted like an ocean for them as they walk through. Lilith inside chatting with friends and other nosy nobles, spots them, seeing Violet in Ash’s arms unconscious a sharp pain in her heart sent her rushing across the room.
"What happened?" She asked frantically, looking over Violet’s body for any sign of injury. But what she found instead was a quietly snoring Violet.
Ash answered Lilith with on name "Riley."
"That bastard of a boy, that shriveled cock of a man. He dares to try and harm her at her own coronation? I’ll kill him, where the fuck is that little shit?" Lilith was livid, steam practically pouring for her ears.
"No need, he’s dead." Ash answered continuing to walk toward his room.
"Who killed him?" Lilith frowned. She wanted to do the honors of killing the prick.
"You won’t believe it." Ash answered making his way up the staircase.
"What is that supposed to even mean, Asher, explain now." Lilith wasn’t having any of these short answers Ash kept giving her.
"Come into the room, we were going to ask you some questions after the coronation, but guess we’ll start now." Ash sighed.
Ash walked in the large beautifully furnished room and laid her gently on the bed. And turned Lilith take a seat on the couch. Ash gestured toward a couch in a corner of the room.
The room was almost twice the size of his room back home. The furniture was black and off white. The coffee table in the middle of the seating was glass with a black frame. The room scream elegance.
The minute Ash sat down Violet popped up wide eyed. Her head throbbed her tummy ached. At first, she was confused how she got here. The last thing she remembered was ’Odette taking control of the situation with Riley, killing him.’ realization hitting her hard.
"Violet, you’re awake!" Ash and Lilith jumped up in surprise.
"You’re awake!" Ash said louder than he expected.
At first Violet couldn’t hear anyone, her thoughts were so loud, she was trembling, terrified. Her child took control of her body and killed someone. Fire shot from her hands. Violet looked at her shaking hands. Examining her arms, she saw no burns, it was like the fire wouldn’t burn her. Tears welled in her eyes, ’how could this happen?’
She’s never considered killing anyone ever in her life. And now a man died because of her.
"Ash..." Violet whispered her voice a little hoarse from her dry throat.
"Yeah, how long have I been asleep for?" Violet asked.
"I don’t know. Maybe 20 minutes?" Ash answered quickly.
She sat silently for a minute trying to gather her thoughts and her composure. She was a queen now, and queens don’t panic.
"Violet? Lilith spoke, but still no response from Violet, she sat frozen in her spot on the bed.
Ash walked up to her leaving Lilith standing by the couch.
Sitting down on the bed next to her, he slides his hand behind the back of her head and gently pulls her in for a kiss. Soft and passionate. Comforting even, it was everything Violet needed in that moment. Violet stopped shaking and touched his cheeks gently cupping his face.
Violet started to feed, unknowingly at first, but she started feeling fuller again, the same way she did at the hospital.
She was feeling more alive, more grounded in the present, less in the past.
Lilith cleared her throat, reminding them they still had someone in their room they were forcing her to be privy to their romantic an intimate greeting.
They pulled their lips apart, but Ash didn’t let go, instead he placed his forehead against hers and whispered "You’re still the perfect you."
Violet’s heart fluttered. She needed to hear those words, from him especially. Her whole state of being in complete disarray.
Ash caressed her jaw as her pulled his hand back. Letting her scent and warmth fill the distance that was there now.
Lilith sat back down "Now, can someone please explain to me what the fuck happened?"
"I killed Riley." Violet whispered, her head bowed low in shame. Despite what Ash had said the it still gnawed at her.
"No, come on, I’m serious." Lilith frowned.
"No really. I did. I killed him with white fire." Violet kept her voice low, like if she spoke to loudly the world would hate her.
Ash shook his head "Violet, tell us the whole story."
"Okay." Violet wiped tears that sat in the corners of her eyes.
"Riley, he kidnapped me. Well, he tried too. But once we got out and he was close enough to succeeding, I was shoved in into the back of my own mind, and the baby actually set him on fire. She even spoke through me, I can’t remember what was said though..."
Ash interrupted her "You will never touch her again. And then she set herself on fire and through that fire at Riley. Her eyes were like blinding white light."
"Did you say her eyes were white?" Lilith asked with a sharp voice.
"Yes, why?" Ash asked.
"My eyes glowed white?" Violet creased upward, unsure of this new information.
Lilith started pacing the room, her hands held behind her back.
For a moment Ash and Violet just watched. They’s never seen or heard of Lilith losing her composure, and she was, pacing like a panicked parent.
"Shit." She stopped in her tracks and looked at the two of them. She thought and thought of what other reason there could be for white fire and eyes that shined a bright white. But she couldn’t.
There was only one reason.
A god came through her. Violet, or rather her unborn child, had used divine fire. A fire that burns anything and everything. She burnt not just Riley’s body; she burnt his soul. It’s the worst kind of punishment. She damned Riley.
"This is serious." Lilith said "we’ve got a problem."
"What kind of problem?" Ash frowned narrowing his eyes at his grandmother.
Lilith asked "Did everyone witness what transpired outside?"
"Just about." Ash answered.
"Shit, that makes it even worse, we’ll need a cover story." Lilith growled, unhappy about all the trouble that awaits them.
"Lilith can you stop with the half sentences and tell us what the hell you’re talking about?" Ash snapped losing his patience.
"She’s caught the attention of a goddess." She confessed anxiously.
"We know." Ash answered.
"You know? How do you know? Divine Fyre hasn’t been seen in so long. Most aren’t old enough to have seen it used. So how could you know?" Lilith looked at Ash and Violet with confusion and disbelief.
"That’s actually something we wanted to talk to you about after the coronation... We wanted to have our daughter’s stars read by our witch friend Arya, who should have been here tonight with a few others from her coven. But something else entire happened." Violet paused bringing the courage to the surface, saying out loud like this makes it real so she hesitated for a moment.
Lilith seeing sits down back on the couch and calmly reassures Violet "It’s okay take your time and start from the very beginning."
Violet takes another moment and takes a deep breath before beginning "Arya pretty powerful witch, set up a circle to open the portal to the stars in the heavens to read her future for us and what happened is her eyes glowed white and through her a goddess spoke of a prophecy. After she gifted Odette something. But we don’t know what."
"We do now. She was gifted Divine Fyre from the Goddess of the Hunt and of the Moon. Artemis." Lilith mentions in a hushed tone. "What was did the prophecy say?"
"Shit I can’t remember" Ash admits and looks over to Violet who answers.
"I remember it word for word."
"Born beneath the Blood Moon’s glow
A gift that was promised long ago.
Of sun and shadow, she is made
Both holy spirit and death’s dark blade
Light in bone and night in breath
She will walk between life and death.
The wolf who lived when all did die. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
Will guard the one the gods decry.
Bound to protect or end her breath
Love twisted close with duty’s death
But when the earth begins to quake
And hell beneath the stars shall shake
The Moon Child will stand where fate entwine.
To break the chain or be the bind."
Violet spoke with an unusually flat tone. She didn’t like how the words tasted in her mouth. She felt ominous and unnerving, but if anyone had answers, Lilith would. She was, after all, one of the oldest beings on Earth.
"Well shit. You think she’s the moon child? Or what maybe finds the moon child? Could the moon child be a shifter?" Lilith’s mind started turning. But she knew, she didn’t need to ask those questions, she already knew the answer.
Violet looked between Ash and her grandmother afraid to ask herself the same questions. She just kept putting it out of her mind, if she didn’t think about it, it wasn’t real.
"You know we’ll have to bind her powers. She’ll be too young to handle Divine Fyre." Lilith insisted.
"Until when?" Ash frowned at the idea of cutting his only child off from her magic. Making her weak.
"I don’t know, we can figure that out later, we can’t do it until after she’s born. Not without sealing Violets too." Lilith clarifies.
Violet agreed with Lilith, the Divine Fyre was terrifying and the idea of some toddler running around with the power to burn someone’s soul.
What happened to her was traumatizing. What else was her little girl capable of? ’yes, it’s much better this way, sealing her powers for a little’.
"Okay, we’ll do it. But, um, what does being the Moon Child mean for our daughter?" Violet asks.
Ash looked at her appalled she’d agree without even discussing it with him first, not that he didn’t agree, just the fact she’d make such a big decision alone, and without any consideration for him, it bothered him.
"What’s with the face Asher?" Lilith asked frowning.
"Nothing, I agree, I just don’t like that Violet and I didn’t take the time to discuss such a big decision" Ash answers.
"Fair. Do you need the time?" Lilith asked.
"Sorry Ash, I didn’t mean to be exclusive, I just know what it’s like to wield such power and it’s terrifying.
"It’s okay, we don’t need the time, lets do it."
