Chapter 140: The Transformation

***Author’s Note: I’m sorry for this. But know this was her destiny. Nothing can stay pure forever. All hearts are meant to break***

The following evening, they woke up early, checked in with everyone about their arrival for the surprise graduation party they were throwing their daughter. Everything was ready.

The drive to school wasn’t long. But sitting in the crowd waiting for their daughter to go up on stage was torture. Ash felt like it would have been better to have his fingernails ripped out then listen to all these stupid speeches.

But finally, Odette approached the stage, she wore and flowing elegant black dress, she looked like stars that painted the night sky.

Odette moved with swift fluid motions. Every step perfectly calculated and deliberate. She has her grandfather’s sword as her dancing partner. And It truly looked like she was dancing with death. The sword had seen many wars and taken many lives.

With her wind abilities and her telekinesis in perfect sync she floated across the floor, never once stepping on to the stage. The sword would lunge for her, and she’d jump in the air and roll before reaching the ground she’d stop with her hand outstretched. Pushing off with her magic she spun back upwards, narrowly missing the sword that flew around her.

She twisted her body. the way she moved, it was like death was courting her. Effortlessly, with the grace of a goddess, she had the audience completely enthralled with her.

Perfection. That’s all anyone could think. Even the haunting eyes from the shadows.

Ash had felt an unsettling presence since their arrival, but he was confident they had enough people they could handle it.

After Odette’s performance the audience screamed and hollered with a rolling applause. She left the stage and took her seat among the other graduates.

Once the speeches were over and the graduates collected their diplomas, they threw their hats in the air and sheered and clapped.

When everyone was leaving.

Ash felt it then, he knew it that feeling that smell.

Malice.

Suddenly bursts of color exploded in the sky, crackling. Fireworks.

The crowd oouued and awed, before screams followed.

An ear piercing and rabid howl ripped through the stadium.

Ash looked at Violet and they nodded at each other.

’I’m getting Violet, you protect as many as you can.’ Violet pushed the thought into his mind.

They separated.

Ash headed straight for the screams, now joined by Oliver and Jeremy.

When they arrived outside, it was a massacre. Blood soaked the grass. Cries of pain and fear rung in the air.

Wolf Shifters

The three of them glanced at one another and a sick sadistic smile crept up each of their faces.

"Whoever kills the most wolves, wins?" Jeremy sneered.

"You’re on blondy." Oliver joked back.

Ash had already launched himself at a wolf. Ripping into him with his nails and tearing a wolf in half.

Asher moved with unbelievable speed, his piercing claws and fangs extended, eyes glowing a their famous crimson red, he launched himself on to the wolf taking him down with ease. They grapple for a moment before he grabbed hold of the wolf by its mouth pulling hard, with a violent and loud crack, he ripped its jaw in two, the wolf went limp. The light from the wolf’s eyes drained out and glazed over, blood pooled in its mouth. Tossing the broken wolf on the ground.

He dashed toward another wolf, coming in low and steady, he shoved his hand through the wolfs chest ripping it’s heart out.

Blood leaking from its chest. Asher smiled seeing it wither and convulse without its heart. He squeezed the beast’s heart in his hands, the muscle turning into dark red putty.

He turned to another and ran full force toward it; he pretends to pass him only to reach around and grab the wolfs head as it went to snip at him. Asher yanked it forward, springing on top of it and he hisses as he rips the head clean off its body. Chucking it at a wolf across from him, knocking it over. Oliver jumped on top of it, stabbing his claws through its neck. The wolf gurgled on its own blood, red seeped into its fur. They looked at each other exchanging twisted and sick grin.

"I think I’m winning" Oliver joked.

"Not even in your dreams, brother." A small smile tugged the corners of Ash’s lips.

Wolf after wolf was demolished. Putting an end to the bloodbath.

His ears perked up suddenly, he heard a roaring scream coming from the stadium, the hair on the back of his neck stood and his heart sank into his chest.

That was his Violet screaming. Dodging and jumping over the dead bodies of wolves and guests.

All he knew was his queen needed him, and nothing would stop him from reaching his love.

Violet had run around the stadium ducking attacks. Listening and letting her connection with her daughter lead her pursuit.

She stumbled around the back where the kitchen took out the trash.

And just as she saw her daughter cornered by a classmate and two other men. She lost it. a newfound strength took over her and she ran faster than she’s ever ran before.

But she was too late. Because before her eyes, Odette was taken into a portal by the classmate and one of the other men.

Leaving only one standing behind.

"Where did you take her?" Violet asked, stepping forward, her voice shaky but sharp.

"Nowhere you will ever find her, vampire slut." The wolf growled and spit at her.

With those words something snapped. The tension in the air shifted. The air became charged; her hair rose around her. She felt the change inside her. A thick murderous aura descended on them.

Before the wolf’s eyes he watched the transformation happen.

He didn’t realize what monster had been unlocked, but he was about to.

Violet’s head twitched, her smile tweaked from its usual gentle and soft appearance.

To something sinister and sickening. The rise in her cheeks was twisted.

Her eyes widened and flickered from their soft pink to an unsettling magenta, like molten lava moving in her eyes. They looked like something driven by an insatiable insanity.

"Where is she?" Violet’s voice different now. Layered, with a something raw, something deadly.

The wolf, that once stood confidently before Violet now felt a tremor in his bones.

Violet took a step forward, and with that the wolf took a step back.

"Tell me, please, I don’t know what will happen if you don’t." Violet was slipping, she could feel herself losing her connection with the softness in her heart. The light that flooded her veins, it was being choked out by the darkness now spreading through her body.

Violet looked at hand, her nails turned into long black claws.

But before the wolf could fire back with another insult, the final break happened.

Violet’s head twitched and then her crazed grin became unhinged, and she shoved her hand through the wolf’s chest. The sound of splitting bone echoed in the fenced in area.

The wolf sputtered, but instead of words, blood gurgled in his throat.

Violet ripped her hand out of the chest cavity, taking the wolf’s heart with her.

She was delirious with rage and bloodlust.

Violet bit into the heart and then spit the mouthful in the face of the wolf.

The wolf’s last sight was the final transformation of Violet. From the Gentle Maiden to the Violent Murderous Queen of Darkness.
