Chapter 172: Questions Answered

Lilith laid immobile and exhausted on the bed. The Leviathans body pressing on her was overheating her. She needed air, she needed space, she was overstimulated by her own skin. She wanted to crawl away from him, but at the same time she wanted to stay close to him. She’d never spent much time with him, but now. In this form after that sex. She wanted more. But she was afraid to give her heart away, afraid to stop hating men. Afraid of what it could mean for her. She would burn the world if another person she fell for hurt her.

Yet here she was laying in the bed with a monster in human flesh. And she didn’t care the thing beside her devoured humans and immortals and creatures a like.

None of it matter. Utterly infatuated she was.

Just as him, he was completely under her spell.

"I need air." She found herself out of breath and hadn’t realized until she struggled to speak.

"By all means, my queen, step outside and stare at the sea in the sky." He said his voice still just as seductive and smooth as before. It sent another around of heat through her core. "I’ll bring you a robe."

’How considerate’ she thought to herself. She was naked, and could easily dress herself, but something about wearing his robe made her heart flutter.

She’s spoke to the man for less than an hour before she was swept off her feet by his charisma.

He came out of the cave, wearing a long silk black robe, his hair sat perfectly on his head, unlike hers which looked like a rat had made its nest in the back of her head. Messy from the friction on the bed.

In his hands he held another black robe, identical to his.

When he handed it to her, she couldn’t help but soak in the smell of him on his clothes.

She put the robe on. The material was smooth and cool on her burning hot skin.

He snapped his finger and instantly a chimenea appeared and a green fire was lit inside; two soft and cozy chairs appeared in front with a table that had two glasses of wine on them.

She was pleased with the set up and took a seat in the chair and picked up the glass of wine.

He followed suit taking his seat and picking up the wine, before sipping it he raised his glasses and gazed at her face in a way that blacked out the world he made around them.

"Cheers, my queen, to the start of something beautiful, because you have captivated me, and I don’t think I can ever let you go." What he said made her heart pound out of her chest.

"I can’t stay here; I have a life to get back to." She retorted. She wasn’t sure if she was ready for a step like that or the one, she knew he was going to suggest. She hasn’t loved or even liked a man, in centuries, outside of the ones related to her, and even then, it was only barely.

"I know, I am coming with you. In the near future I will be asked to join you, so might as well skip ahead and join your little quest now." He smiled a knowing smile.

"Speaking of the future, I believe you owe me answers to my questions, now that I have fulfilled my end of the bargain it’s yours." She said with a smirk. Raising her glass to him, he raised his. The sound of glass clinking echoed in the silence of his dimension.

"Fair enough." He smiled. "The answer to your first question: No spell did this, instead it was our lovely goddess, Artemis, after the great war she fogged your memories to protect a certain secret. So, what you know of that time is clouded. It can only be lifted by a god or goddess." He answered.

"Are you serious? What secret could be that important?" She questioned annoyed and confused that there wasn’t much she could do to clear up her memories. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

"Is that your third question?" He asked smirking.

"No. How about the second question? What can you tell me about what happened?" She sounded a little impatient, but he knew it was just her eagerness to understand the absence of knowledge.

"Most of what you know about the Great War is a lie concocted by the goddess. The time before the birth of human kind, the four gods lived in harmony, equally loved by their creations. But the birth of human’s changed that. They began to favor some gods over others. One god got jealous and created something horrific, dangerous, and deadly. With the sole purpose of corrupting the heart of humans and destroying the world he helped create. That creature created you. Made you his queen. However, he broke your heart, and you ran from the pain. He was destroyed and turned on the world. With the help of many you helped defeat him, your lover, your king. Your granddaughter sealed him in a stone and hid him away in a place no one could find him. To protect this secret, the goddess Artemis, she corrupted the memories of those alive then. And now you are finding the truth, maybe you will learn it on your own, or maybe when the time comes, the goddess will clear your memories. That is all I can tell you. The rest you must learn on your own or she must reveal it to you. I am sworn as the only creature still alive from before the birth of humans to not reveal certain details. An unbreakable oath, I couldn’t even speak of it if I wanted too."

This revelation was so much for her to handle. Was the father of her two sons, not the father? Her memory was corrupted, changed. Everything she believed about the great war was a lie? She felt desperate to learn, to know what she has forgotten.

"History is repeating. A war is on the horizon, and the fight you think you will face, isn’t the real threat. Which is why, you will need my help." He looked at her with a smug look.

"Fine, but our whatever is between us, whatever this is, it stays between us." She insisted.

But all he did was laugh in her face "No, you are mine, and I am nothing to hide or be ashamed of. You are mine, and I will not be denied what is mine."

"I am no man’s property." She growled.

In a second, he moved with insane speed and appeared in front of her, leaning on the armrests, close enough to her face, that only centimeters kept their lips from touching.

She gasped. Finding it hard to swallow with his close proximity.

"You are mine."
