The Gentle Maiden and Five Lustful Brothers-Chapter 64: the fair

Friends?

Ash was leaning back in his seat arms crossed watching them with deep intensity. He was making sure Viktoria acted right and Violet felt safe.

Viktoria was at a loss for words. She was stunned someone would want friendship after what they had done. Viktoria was horrible to Violet; she kidnapped her, helped drug her and fucked her and watched her get assaulted by Riley. Why would anyone be so forgiving? So unconditionally tally forgiving? Was it a trick? Viktoria truly didn’t know what to think her jaw slacking some, her eyes were opened wide in disbelief.

"Are you serious?" Viktoria asked suspiciously.

"Yes, I’m serious. Why wouldn’t I be?" Violet asked her nose crinkled some frowning slightly.

"Cause I was really awful to you. Aren’t you going to retaliate?" Viktoria asked.

Violet’s faced relaxed and she chuckled, "You’re funny, no, I’m not retaliating, I am truly hoping we ca be friends." Violet tilted her head to the side, she reached up and gently clasped Viktoria’s hands in hers. Violet’s smile was ever so sweet.

Viktoria’s heart seemed to stop beating as she gazed upon Violet’s innocent, seeing her in a new light. Violet was to be her queen. And she looked like royalty as she sat up straight her shoulders back, she was indeed a princess looking at her sitting in her seat.

"So, you’re not mad?" Viktoria really couldn’t understand this girl. What the hell was her deal?

"No, not mad, but I am hurt, and I do feel quite a bit of sadness, but no not anger." Violet tapped Viktoria’s hands gently "I really mean it when I ask you to be my friend."

Viktoria started to smile. Just a hint of one in the corner. Starting to believe Violet’s words.

"Viktoria, one thing to learn about our gentle maiden, is that she is indeed, gentle. You’re lucky she is as forgiving as she is, Rosa would have you burned at the stake probably before Ash could get his hands on you." Jeremy speaking up finally.

Viktoria looked over to Jeremy, then around the room and back to Violet.

"If you really want me as a friend I guess we could be friends." Viktoria said her smile slightly bigger. Viktoria’s never really had any girl friends before, it’s pretty much always just been her brother Viktor and her cousins.

"Yay! So you’re going to come to the fair with us right?" Violet asked hopefully.

"Of course, if I’m still invited to come along." Viktoria answered as she looked around the room.

"It’s my birthday and I want you there, so would you please come with?" Violet asked again her eyes glistening with the excitement of endless possibilities.

"Well how can I say no when you put it like that." Viktoria laughed.

Violet released Viktoria’s hands and Viktoria took a seat across from her brother.

Dinner went by nicely, it seemed like they were all a real family and things were surprisingly normal, like this has been happening forever now. There was laughter and yelling, jokes and jabs. Everyone was getting along so nicely.

Wrapping up dinner Gabriel wipes his hands and drops his napkin on his plate, "now that we’ve eaten, we should be on our way."

Everyone agreed. Oliver stood up and went to offer his hand to Violet Ash smacked it away and grabbed Violet’s hand pulling her up. Ash gives Oliver a threatening glare and gives a low growl that resonated in his throat.

Oliver quickly backed off not wanting to challenge his brother. Ash had been growing increasingly possessive over Violet. It was getting a little scary even for Oliver. After seeing what Ash did to Riley, and knowing that was with restraint, the idea of what Ash could do given the chance.

Ash had recently started becoming stronger as well, though he currently hasn’t noticed it. His power was growing and so was hers.

Climbing into the limo they head for the fair. Violet and Viktoria talked the whole ride, Ash sat back resting his arm around Violet. Holding her close to him, as if at any second she could be taken fro him again.

Arriving at the fair the Ferris wheel could be seen igniting the sky with bright flashing lights. The music was blasting. Violet’s eyes glowed with the excitement of a child. It was her first fair, that wasn’t a school fair, she’s head all about them and has always wanted to go, but being a maiden she was trapped inside most of her life, without the protection offered by the prince’s she wasn’t able to take the risk of exposing herself. If anything happened the princes would be there to protect her. No one dared cross them and when they did they paid the consequences, dearly.

Walking through the gates was a scene out of a movie. Games and food trucks offering things like turkey legs and corn dogs, deep fried Oreos and funnel cakes, there was a ride that went in a circle forward and backward. Bumper cars. Another ride that spun so fast it looked like it would just fly into the sky taking all the riders with it. A giant slide could be seen near the giant Ferris wheel.

Her eyes were wide and shined with curiosity and wonder. She was mesmerized by the lights an sounds and smells.

Ash looked down at Violet and his hear melted some, seeing her experience this for the first time filled him with pride. He was with her for so many firsts. Seeing her happiness and watching her face express such unconfined joy brought a small smile to his lips.

Violet grabbing his hand ran off to the ride that was shaped like strawberries and spun in a circle. The line moved quickly and with her wrist band she didn’t need any tickets. Ash and Violet pulled the wheel in the middle forcing the strawberry to move faster than the rest, Violet thought ’it pays to have a vampire bf.’

Violet paused for a moment realizing she just thought of Ash as her boyfriend. She didn’t feel that way about the other brothers only Ash. Looking at him she felt she could gaze upon his face endlessly, he was the sexiest man she’s ever seen. She still couldn’t believe someone as perfect as him could want her. She smiled because he did want her, he loved her, he even said so.

Leaving the strawberry ride they ride several more fast rides before she was finally warn out and was ready to eat some fair food she’s always heard about but has never been able to try it for herself. Ordering a corn dog and a funnel cake with chocolate syrup. Ash getting a large turkey leg head to eat under the tent.

Violet texts the brothers and Rosa where they were.

They both seem to notice all the stares they were getting from on lookers. The women whispered and gawked at Ash, he was also the most handsome man they’ve ever seen. The men couldn’t take their eyes off of Violet, her purity made her seem like an unapproachable angel. They thought undoubtedly that these two were the perfect couple.

Suddenly a whiff of wolf enters Ash’s nostrils. Looking over he sees Amos and group of his little puppies standing at one of the entrances to the dining tent.

Ash’s lips were pulled into a snarl as he growled deep in his throat sending the shifter a warning.

This only made Amos grin. He was plotting. Walking over to the table Amos leans on the back of a chair that was across from Violet.

Violet began to shift around uncomfortably, she knew things were going to get ugly especially when Jeremy shows up.

"Well, well, well, isn’t it the bloodsucking prince and his little pet. What are you two doing here?" Amos said with a devious grin.

"Get lost dog." Ash growled.

"Dog? You know I really dislike it when you call me a dog." Amos sneered.

"Who the fuck cares, get lost before you get your ass beat again." Ash snapped back looking at Amos in the eyes Ash’s grin sending a blatant challenge to Amos.

"That hurts my feelings bloodsucker, why are you so harsh?" Amos teased.

"I wouldn’t consider this harsh, you’re not important enough to put that much effort into." Ash teased back.

"Ouch you wound me. What am I going to do about this?" Amos laughed.

"Nothing cause your mommy raised a bitch and not a wolf." Ash taunted Amos.

Amos brows furrowed and his snarled like a wolf baring some teeth.

Ash flashed his fangs with a hiss. Violet sat shaking a little in her seat nervous about a fight breaking out right in front of her.

"Keep talking about my mother or I’ll just have to take your maiden away with me and make her a mother to all my pups." Amos laughed.

Ash stood throwing his chair backwards, startling Violet. She looked at Amos and then back at Ash and then Amos again.

Violet would normally speak up and try to stop a fight, but when she looked back to Ash his eyes were a glowing crimson red, she knew better than to try anything when he was in that state.

"Look at that boy, look at those scary glowing eyes." He chuckled speaking to his pack friends.

Ash hissed once more flashing his fangs as they extended, Amos eyes began to glow yellow challenging Ash’s threat.

Ash acted first lunging across the table he tackled Amos and started to pound his face in. But was pulled away by Amos’ pack members. Ash tried pulling the off and throwing them off him, but they just kept coming. One of the shifters pulled Ash back just enough Amos was able to shove Ash putting him off balance. Landing a punch on Ash blood started to drip down his jaw. Ash wipes the blood from his lips smiles and licks it off his hand. Ash’s nails extend as well as his fangs and he thrusts himself into the air flying over the table and biting into one of the shifters necks, ripping a chunk from the his neck. The shifter screams in agony as blood leaked from the chunk of missing flesh. The cries of humans began to spread through the fair as they rushed from the tent trying to get away from the scene of violence exploding next to where they were eating.

Ash and Amos dashed around the tent throwing chairs and shattering tables. Blood from scratches splattered all over the grass. Shifter after shifter attacked Ash and he just grabbed them ripping them off him throwing them into posts and furniture. Violet stood staring in complete and utter horror feeling positively terrified. She was paralyzed with fear watching as the love of her life was being attacked by 5 wolf shifter, one being an alpha heir. Her body shook as she watched them speed back and forth across the room snarling and hissing and growling.

The Brothers and the Twins noticed he crowd rushing toward them away from the dining tent and they knew something was up and they came running fast through the crowd dodging people left and right.

When they arrived at the tent it was in shambles. Debris was scattered around the room. Violet stood on the edge shaking and sobbing as she watched Ash bloody defending her. The brothers charged in to aid Ash, while Viktoria stood comforting Violet and Viktor stood guard. Even though Viktoria is plenty strong on her own, two is better than one and right now Violet needed the protection. It was now four on five and the shifters were losing. Once Gabriel joined the fight it was over Gabriel and Ash killed two and Jeremy and Oliver killed one. The remaining wolf shifters were defeated and bloody went running off. Amos turned and yelled, "This isn’t over bloodsucker, I’ll get my revenge just you, cold blood animal."

Violet noticing the fight was over swiftly rushed to Ash’s side seeing the sight of him fractured Violets soft heart. Blood gushed from gashes that covered Ash’s body. Violet wept heavy tears hugging on to Ash.

"Please drink, drink from me, you’re injured badly!" Violet cried out her heart in agony.

"No, I’ll hurt you, not here." Ash panted.

"There’s no time to wait, these are wolf claw gashes, they are far worse than regular scratches." Violet pleaded, "Please just drink from me. Please I beg of you!"

Tears drenched her cheeks her eyes red as tears swelled in them. She was practically wailing.

"Fine just a little then get me home." Ash was stammering over his words as he tried to breathe. "Jeremy can help heal me, and so can you." He winked at Violet teasing her.

"I see you still have it in you to joke, come on, let’s get you home." Oliver said walking over with Gabriel and Jeremy after dragging the wolf shifters body to the trash can leaving the bodies on the ground next to it.

Picking up Ash having him lean on both Gabriel and Jeremy. The two of the help him limp back to the limo.

"I’ve got such a big mess to handle here, you guys please head home and get him taken care of. The birthday is tomorrow make sure he doesn’t look like shit." Gabriel said after helping Ash into the car.

"Keep her company Viktoria and don’t fuck it up for hells sake." We’re his last words before shutting the door
