THE GOD EATER-Chapter 162: Doing Too MuChapter
She explained saying, "I picked you to work with him because you were one of the few who didn’t look ready to kill him just now. You were able to withstand his attitude just now, which means that you will be able to work somewhat amicably with him."
Then she looked at Loki and said, "As for you, I assigned you to him because you have a poor attitude and will be unlikely to work well with the other commanders. You need to learn to control your emotions better before you can be useful to anyone. So rather than let you cause trouble in my army, I set you up with Greg so that he can kill you and get rid of you for me."
"What to do next is your choice to make. You can behave yourself, or you can give Greg a reason to behead you."
After dooming Loki to a fate very close to death, she looked at everyone else and said, "In any case, I wish you all good luck. That will be all."
Then she left with her giant bear. Loki watched her go with immense and unhidden resentment in his eyes.
Unfortunately for him, there was nothing he could do now. He already tried his best to avoid Greg, but he still failed.
As he was standing there glaring at Amelia with resentment, the three people who he paid to hold him back walked away from him while giving weird glances.
This made him snort and say, "I endured all of that and paid good money for nothing. What a waste."
"It seems I went too far. Next time, I should be more moderate with my reaction. I should go along with the group instead of standing out so much."
He was already making tweaks to his plan for the next timeline, but that didn’t mean that he had given up on this timeline. After all, he still had two more plans to try.
So he began moving again, and he rushed forward to catch up to Greg. He ran while others walked leisurely, so he was able to overtake everyone and was soon beside Greg.
Greg saw him approach and smirked as he said, "Do you want to die so badly?"
He was smirking and talking as if he was joking around, but he had already raised his mechanical arm and pointed the nozzle in the palm of the mechanical arm at Loki.
Loki had seen what the mechanical arm was capable of doing, so he knew that Greg was very close to killing him. Since he didn’t come to fight, he raised his hands in surrender and said, "I don’t want to fight."
Greg didn’t believe him and still had his mechanical arm pointed dangerously at Loki. But he did ask, saying, "What do you want then?"
Loki replied, saying, "I actually cherish my life a lot. I don’t want to die, which is why I’ve come to ask which mode of transportation we are going to use to get to our post?"
In response, Greg pointed at the small dirigible in the distance and said, "That one."
Loki glanced at it before saying, "That is so small, weak, and pitiful. Even logistic airships are more powerful than it."
"Don’t we have any more powerful options? What can that thing do if we are attacked in the air?"
He thought that Greg would take his warning seriously, but Greg only got angry because of what he said.
Greg frowned and said to him, "Do you want to die?"
Loki shook his head in answer, so Greg said, "Then why do you keep trying to anger me again and again?"
Before he could ask how he angered Greg again, Greg said, "First, you try to fight me. Now you dare to call my precious shop small, weak, and pitiful."
Loki quickly tried to mollify Greg by saying, "I didn’t know that it was your precious ship. I was just worried for your safety and ours."
This only stopped Greg from killing him now. But it did nothing to stop Greg from planning to kill him in the future for insulting his precious ship.
Greg shook his head and said, "You worry too much. The only ones who use air travel in this small world are the disciples of the Four Directions Sect. The barbarians from the Martial Body Sect don’t like using any technology and rarely use any vehicle for air transportation."
"They have these vehicles called hummingbirds, but those are too weak to threaten my ship. They would only be shot down if they approached us. So you have nothing to worry about."
After saying this much, he continued his short journey to the dirigible. Everyone else chose to follow him. As they passed by, they looked at Loki in confusion or with gazes that showed that they thought he was crazy.
Only Jane looked at him as if he were an idiot. She looked at him with so much disdain that one would think he was one of her family’s slaves.
Loki watched them go with resignation. Then he signed and said to himself, "I’ve tried my best. That only leaves the third plan."
As he thought of what to do next, he said, "The plan is a little troublesome, but it should work."
He shook his head and said, "No, it must work. It has to work, and I have to live even if everyone else dies."
These things encouraged him to keep going. So he picked up his speed and went after them.
He didn’t create any trouble with Greg from then on. He simply entered the cabin with everyone else and chose a corner to sit in. Then he closed his eyes and became silent.
Because of his actions, the group had been able to complain that Greg was talking too much, so Greg was still talking, and everything he was saying was an insult to them. This made the ride to their destination far from being quiet.
