THE GOD EATER-Chapter 180: Another One.

All of them looked back at the airship, either in confusion because they didn’t understand why it fired on one of them, or they looked at the airship in fear because they didn’t need any reason to be afraid other than the fact that Greg had started firing on them, his allies.

One of the fearful ones, the middle-aged man named Benard, saw this and sighed as he said, "I knew this was too good to be true. I guess I got blinded by greed. Now I am going to pay for it."

He believed that Greg was out to kill all of them so that Greg would be able to hoard all of the merit points. But he didn’t wait for death to come to him.

After he realized that Greg was unredeemable, he chose a direction to escape to and began to run in that direction. He was quickly followed by the other five veterans.

Even the clueless newbies began to scatter when they saw this. Their decision to escape turned out to be the right one because Greg was turning the airship again for another round of bombardment.

As they escaped for their dear lives, they shouted at the top of their lungs, "He is crazy."

The truth was that Greg wasn’t crazy. At least, not in the normal sense of craziness.

What had happened was that Greg had spotted another person with a weird Life Ability. This time, he saw it on one of his subordinates who had donned a weird Armored Skin Life Ability.

His eyes narrowed as he gazed at the black, flowing, metallic armor covering his subordinate. After confirming what he feared, his voice became full of bitterness as he said, "Another one? Do I have bad luck or something?"

He had already opened fire on one of his subordinates, but he didn’t hesitate to prepare for another round of fire. After all, they had already lost faith in him. It wouldn’t make much of a difference if he killed another one.

He thought to himself that he could just claim that he was crazy. What he was truly afraid of was disrupting the plan of attack that Amelia was preparing for by scattering his soldiers. But he didn’t let that stop him from doing what must be done.

Down below, Loki looked up at the airship turning towards him and said, "What has gotten into him again? Is he that crazy?"

But he didn’t panic. What he did was to bring up his large sword and prepare to defend himself.

The sword was thicker than his head and nearly as tall as he was. It was a beast of a sword that looked like it could pretend to be a door.

As he held the door with his two hands and gripped it tightly, he shouted, saying, "Bring it on, you crazy bastard."

Greg wasn’t deterred by his shout. He brought it on by firing the six cannons at Loki.

In response, Loki jumped up to meet the cannonballs. He only clashed with one cannonball, though. The others sailed past him and exploded when they struck the ground.

The explosion of five of the six cannonballs didn’t do anything to him because they exploded far away from him. He only had to deal with that single one, which was why he jumped up to meet the attack in the first place.

The cannonball struck him with the power of 1,000 units. To be specific, it smashed into the sword in his hands because he had swung the sword at the cannonball.

He had used the sword like a bat to strike the cannonball. But instead of exploding, the Reversal Metac effect on the cannonball worked its magic.

The Reversal Metac was created from the fusion of a Metac that transforms something into another more favorable thing and a Metac that senses and identifies danger. So the power of the Reversal Metac is to transform a dangerous attack into a favorable counterattack.

As long as he can block whatever attack is thrown at him, not only can he transform it into a counterattack, but he will also be able to add his power to the initial attack to make the counterattack stronger.

The cannonball carried a power of 1,000 units, which isn’t something a normal rank 3 cultivator should be able to handle. But Loki was able to manage easily because his power output was 3(Telekinesis Metac) × (4(Body) + 5(Life Ability) + 450% Energy Well) × (4(Body Lever) + 4(Living Armament) + 4(Energy Amplifier) +4(Force Lever)) × (250% Overdrive), which is 1,620 units.

So with this power of 1,620 units, he was able to block the attack of 1,000 units. Then his power of 1,620 units was added to the cannonball for a total of 2,620 units before the cannonball flew backward in the direction from which it came.

The cannonball smashed into the cannon that fired it and exploded in a shower of fire and shrapnel. This explosion destroyed the cannon and tore a large hole through the side of the ship.

Greg saw this and grabbed his hair as he screamed hysterically, saying, "Nooooooo! My ship! My precious Giant Smasher."

Then he shouted at Loki, saying, "You’re dead meat, one-eyed man."

As he said this, he was already rushing to his mech. When he reached the mech, he pried open its chest and slipped into the cockpit. Then he combined his power with that of the mech through the Power Coupling Core.

As soon as this configuration was executed, the eyes of the mech became red. Red patterns also appeared on its silver armored figure. Then it took to the air and shot towards Loki.

Within the cockpit, Greg’s face had contorted into a full-blown snarl. He was growling as he promised to tear Loki apart. It would be an understatement to say that he was angry.

He wasn’t angry earlier when he tried to kill Loki. He was just pissed and frustrated.
