The Golem Mage-Chapter 415 : Destroyed City, Last Mission
" That's because he has been attacking and dismantling every low-ranking branch of the Evil sect he encounters, relentlessly pursuing each one that is liked to the branch he had eliminating he had been doing this because he felt they are connected to his mission, and that is why he has refused taking a new mission." The lady with scar said
"His primary target appears to be the Bishop overseeing the small temples in that region, he believes that taking down the Bishop will restore order in that specific region," she continued.
"The Evil sect consists of fanatics who will not take this challenge lightly, but why does this kid always find trouble wherever he goes?" Edward remarked, face palming, as the new Dean chuckled,
"I recall Terran was responsible for the destruction of a Mid-level branch, and in return they have retaliated by supporting the Orc Abyss in placing a bounty on him, now, Terran's disciple is decimating numerous low-level branches of theirs, It's only a matter of time before they issue a bounty on his head, just like his master, those two definitely are a perfect match" the Dean chuckled joyfully.
"He already has a bounty on his head, approved by the Bishop-ranked individual, so he is currently being pursued by a couple of Tier 3 mages and some rogue Tier 4 individuals desperate for resources," the lady elaborated.
"How much is the bounty?" Edward inquired immediately.
"About twenty thousand low magic crystals," she replied.
"Don't worry about Alec, If there's one thing I've learned, it's that he is capable of taking care of himself, he won't let Terran down," the Dean reassured as he turned to leave the control room.
Edward gazed at the water screen displaying a sleeping Alec, knowing that Alec's journey was far from peaceful with the challenges that awaited him.
"I just know there's something off about these kids from the Gordons clan, not only is their young master topping the list, but two of the teams in the top six are led by them."
" One even managed to upgrade his rank to the sergeant rank, and Lucas, who is second on the list, is practically carrying the rest of the Gordons clansmen. It seems this year's inter-academy team will be dominated by this mid-level clan. "
" Let's see what those snooty descendants of high-ranking clans, calling themselves nobles, can do about this," Edward remarked, no longer interested in leaving.

Meanwhile, as the Dean and Edward were still reeling from Alec's unexpected deal, Lucas Blade and his team were preparing for their final mission before heading to the Sweden City for their first external training exercise.
Still uncertain about what lay ahead , all they knew was Edward had made it clear that they would face challenges and shed blood in the training.
Lucas Blade led his team, flanked by Knight and Agnes, with Katie and the remaining members of the Gordons clan, along with three other mages who had joined them, to their destination.
When they reached there Lucas opened the Moonlit Crystal Shard he had received from the black crow that delivered their missions, Lucas poured his Mana into it as it projected an image of the city they were to visit.
However, as their gazes shifted away from the crystal image to throw city in front of them, they realised that the city that was once teeming with vibrant magic and pulsating energy, had now reduced to a shadow of its former glory.
The once majestic towers and shimmering spires that was being displayed by the moonlit crystal shard is now standing broken and crumbling, their ethereal beauty tainted by the darkness that has descended upon them.
The streets that were once bustling with spell casters and people are now eerily quiet, except for the distant echoes of wails and the chilling howls of the creatures that are responsible for this change.
Buildings that once housed powerful mage guilds and resident of the city now lay in ruins, their walls covered in dark, twisted runes that pulsate with malevolent energy.
The once lush gardens and flourishing magical marketplaces are now overgrown with twisted vines and eerie shadows that seem to reach out with clawed hands.
The air is thick with the acrid scent of decay and the stifling grip of dark magic, casting a foreboding pall over the city.
"What happened here?" Knight asked as they entered the city.
"The mission indicated that the city's residents reported an undead horde approaching, if they're all dead, it means they've possibly fallen to the horde already, and we might be too late to save them," Lucas explained before Kelvin interjected.
"We're not too late, look over there," Kelvin announced pointing toward a location.
Following Kelvin's gesture, they all turned to see a creature with pale, decaying skin feasting on a deceased child.
When the ghoul's light green eyes locked onto the group, it let out an excited howl and dashed towards them, the girl's torn hand still in its mouth, before anyone else could react, Knight sprang into action.

Summoning a large dark claw around his right hand, Knight slashed at the charging ghoul, sending five beams of light towards it.
The ghoul was swiftly sliced into five pieces, and Knight proudly declared,
"Taken care of," having used one of the new spell he had gotten from the Dean's collection.
"Not quite," Agnes interjected with a worried expression.
"I fear we're in serious trouble."
Perceiving Agnes's concern, Lucas inquired,
"Why do you say that?"
Lucas had learn to respect Agnes for her wisdom and knowledge, Lucas valued Agnes's insights, similar to how Alec did, and that's why he always asked of her opinion.
"The creature we just dispatched was a Ghoul, a low-level one at that, maybe Tier 1, Ghouls typically hunt in packs, so its cries likely attracted more of its kind here," Agnes explained.
"Is there anything else we need to know?" Lucas inquired, as he felt a growing sense of encroaching danger mounting within him.

"Yes, you should be aware that Ghouls possess an insatiable craving for flesh, their relentless hunger for humanoid flesh is what truly makes them terrifying," Agnes explained.
"Similar to maggots or carrion beetles, Ghouls thrive in areas teeming with decay and death, they are drawn to places where they can feast on dead flesh and decomposing organs," she continued.
"When they cannot feed on the deceased, they turn their attention to living beings, seeking to turn them into corpses, this is likely what befell the residents of this city," Agnes elaborated.
"Despite gaining no sustenance from the corpses they consume, Ghouls are driven solely by their unquenchable hunger."
As Agnes finished her explanation, growls filled the air, and the group observed a horde of new Ghouls emerging.
Among them were some who appeared stronger and more menacing than the initial set, with longer and sharper teeth's.
Their numbers swelled to about a hundred, with an additional three hundred decaying and sluggish Ghouls like the one Knight just killed.
Just when they believed they had seen the extent of the threat, seven larger and more formidable Ghouls emerged.
These formidable creatures possessed thick, leathery skin and elongated, razor-sharp claws, as they eyed Lucas's group, drool dripped from their mouths.
"I trust you all understand why I mentioned we're facing significant trouble now," Agnes remarked with a faint smile, the rest of the group silently concurring.
