"Ha-ha, I can't believe he came into contact with a Bone claw, Now let's see if your chosen killer instincts can find a solution to this problem,"

Edward chuckled as he watched, while Selene stood silently beside Edward, her attention focused on Alec and his actions now that his clansman was in danger.

--

"Where the hell is the second Mage with a shadow element?, Show yourself at the front!" Alec shouted, his heart tightening at the sight of Knight in peril.

Alec had warned them against moving against the Lich, suspecting that there would be an undead or something protecting it, he just felt it was likely something stronger than the undead it summoned.

Otherwise, he won't allow the strong undead how he summoned to just enter the battlefield without any protection for itself.

But it seemed Knight had once again disregarded his orders, Alec planned on punishing him but first, he had to save him from the Bone claw.

He had used the analyse skill on it and discovered that Bone claws were close to being immortal, they couldn't be killed directly.

Each Bone claw was linked to a master, as Bone claws were once great wizard who had attempted to turn into a Lich, driven by their own selfish reasons, However they failed, and their failed transformation resulted in them becoming something more ruthless and deadly, focusing on physical strength rather than mentality and mana like a lich.

Bone claws always required a master and only served an evil one who matched their energy need, . If the master wasn't evil enough or decided to turn good, the Bone claw would break the bond and find another evil master.

But the most intriguing thing about bone claws was their near immortality, to truly kill a bone claw, one had to go after its master while they were still linked together.

As only then could it really die, because even if its body were evaporated, it could still be reformed by feeding off the evil energy of its master. It would only just take a couple of days for it to reconstruct its body back to top shape.

"I said, where is the shadow mage that was drafted into the student army?, I went through all the list of mages' and I'm sure there was another shadow mage present on the list, aside from Knight, so fall out now to the front!" Alec said again, using Mana to spread out his voice this time.

He was really hoping that the person would come out, that's when a lady with a black fringe hairstyle came to the front, looking nervous.

"Don't be scared, i only want you to transport me to that location using shadow travel, that's all I'm asking for," Alec mentioned his desire as he pointed, but the girl was fiddling with her fingers as she stared at the ground.

"Um, there is a little problem, Captain, i can't open a shadow travel portal big enough to fit you, I have a low affinity for the shadow element, and size is not my specialty, so I have problems conjuring huge shadow portals, in fact any shadow spell I conjure just happens to be a smaller version," she explained.

Alec: "¬" The heck.

"So how big is the shadow travel you can conjure?" Alec asked as she showed him, and it was clearly very small, as she insisted.

It would be hard for him to try forcing himself through, the best use of her shadow portal is to transport things.

"How stable is your shadow execution?" Alec asked, his face showing a firm expression.

"Even though I may have a low affinity, i am most proud of my ability to execute my spells perfectly," she stated confidently.

"Then help me create a portal, Make sure the receiving end is positioned directly beside the head of that Bone Claw," Alec instructed as he pointed at the Bone Claw about to attack Pale.

--

Pale gazed at the monstrous presence in front of him and shivered as he gripped his dual daggers tightly.

He was being pressured by the full aura of a Tier 4 Bone Claw, which seemed truly dreadful, all his attempts to use the shadow element seemed futile, as the shadow elements seemed to favour the Bone Claw, and Knight was unable to attack the Bone Claw with it.

The Bone Claw was truly frightening to look at, with its flesh seemingly ripped off, revealing only the inner muscle and bones jutting out from both elbows.

The most terrifying aspect was the long claw that seemed to be crying out for blood, and Knight was just a Tier 2 mage, though the spirit equipment he wore gave him battle power comparable to a high Tier 3, almost close to a peak Tier 3.

However, it seemed he allowed that power to get to his head and forgot that he was just a Tier 2 mage. Facing that type of raw and necrotic aura, he felt the feeling of death creeping up on him.

"A lowly human tried to kill me, how daring. Bone Claw, kill him!" the Lich's chilling voice commanded as the Bone Claw dashed at him.

Just by seeing the blur the Bone claw generated from dashing at him, Knight was sure he would never be able to compete with the Bone Claw in speed, nor would he ever match the Bone Claw in strength.

So, he did something even he would not have expected he would be doing.

He stomped his legs on the ground, causing numerous earth pillars to emerge.

"It's been a while since I've used the earth element in battle, but I'm glad I never stopped training with it, Now I can finally put it to good use," Knight said, determination in his voice as he sprinted towards the Lich.

Utilizing the earth pillars as obstacles, Knight skilfully maneuvered past the Bone claw till he found himself face-to-face with the Lich, but he heard the Lich casting a spell almost instantly.

Suddenly, chains made of bones materialized and wrapped around Knight's hands and legs.

As the Lich floated away, giving the bone claw the opportunity to attack the immobilized Knight, preparing to strike down with its raised hands. However, a small shadow portal appeared near its head, surprising knight who witness it.

--

In the midst of the chaos, Alec was already prepared to take action, he had conjured a Terra bullet and aimed it at the swirling black portal in front of him.

Although he had taken more time than necessary to create the Terra bullet, but this time he didn't conjure another one.

Alec had become more adept at executing the innate spell of the Terra bullet, thanks to his frequent utilization of it.

So when he started feeling the extra energy attempting to create another bullet, he redirected it towards the first bullet he had conjured.

Though he hadn't put much thought into it, Alec had silently hoped for some type of miracle to occur, perhaps granting the bullet some extraordinary powers, unfortunately, that wasn't what transpired.

He observed as the bullet elongated and sensed its increased weight, Alec, despite not being a firearms expert, recognized that the bullet now resembled a sniper round.

However, he had no time to ponder its transformation as the Bone claw slashed downward, without hesitation, he released the bullet toward the portal.

BANG!

The loud report of the bullet's discharge echoed as Alec's hand jerked back from the recoil, causing his Tier 2 horse mount to shuffle to the side.

Glancing ahead, he observed that the bone claw's skull had been severely damaged as the bullet had found it's mark and it lay motionless on the ground, but Alec knew that it wasn't dead yet.

The Bone claw would never truly perish as long as its master lived, so Alec believed that the Bone claw was likely struggling to regenerate its head due to the damage the bullet had caused, explaining why it hadn't risen again.

The lady who had helped Alec with the portal, witnessed the astonishing power behind the bullet, leaving her and everyone else who witness it in shock.

The stone bullet spell was considered the weakest within the various ranges of earth element spells, so witnessing Alec use the same spell to rupture the head of a fearsome Tier 4 creature seemed unreal to them.

In that moment, Knight spotted the fallen Bone claw, he tried swiftly casting the shadow travel spell beneath him.

And he realized that he could control the spell now and promptly leaped into it, disappearing back through the same path he had arrived.
