The Grand Duke's Son Is A Heretic-Chapter 93:Drag Him Down
Chapter 93: 93:Drag Him Down
Inside the mansion, Lyria peeked through the window, her eyes glowing with curiosity as she watched the chaos unfolding outside. The shouts of the crowd mixed with Kael’s commanding voice, creating a scene both strange and fascinating.
TAP! TAP!
She turned to see an old man with a hunched back approaching. Ramos walked toward her with a faint smile.
"A soothing scene, isn’t it?" he said, his tone almost amused.
Lyria glanced at him briefly before turning back to the window.
"Soothing...?" she asked.
"What does that mean?"
"I mean don’t you find such a huge scene interesting?"Ramos scoff before letting out a rough cough.
"Sorry, but I don’t find it interesting at all."
He almost lost his balance, glaring at her as he straightened up.
"Then why are you staring so hard?"
"I’m looking at that human," Lyria said, pointing at Kael on the stage. freeweɓnovel.cøm
Ramos followed her gaze and suddenly froze. His face twitched as he heard Kael declare Ariana the Baroness without warning. A shiver ran down his spine.
"What the hell is he doing?" he muttered, his expression darkening. "Damn... He’ll tear this place apart."
"Cut into pieces... Who?" Lyria asked, tilting her head.
"Never mind," Ramos said sharply. "You wouldn’t understand."
An eerie silence settled between them. Ramos sighed, rubbing his temples. Then, his voice dropped to a whisper as he looked outside.
"Asmodeus..."
Lyria’s crimson eyes flared, and her expression turned deadly. A chill spread through the room, as if an invisible force had darkened the space around them.
Ramos didn’t look at her. He simply continued, his voice slow and deliberate. "I don’t know if you’ve lost your memory or if this is some kind of game."
He glanced outside at Kael. "He’s sharp, a natural predator. But he doesn’t know demons... He might have made a mistake."
His gaze shifted back to Lyria, and for the first time, his presence became suffocating. A deep, ancient power radiated from him, pressing down on her like an invisible hand.
"You can fool them," he murmured. "But not me."
Lyria’s entire body tensed. The world around her seemed to darken, and in the abyss, two enormous, terrifying eyes locked onto her soul. The sheer weight of his presence made her feel insignificant, like a mere insect before a god.
Her breath hitched. "I... I’m not lying!" she gasped, her voice shaking.
SWISH!
The pressure vanished in an instant. Lyria collapsed to the ground, gasping for air. Ramos turned away, his expression unreadable.
"That’s why you’re still alive," he muttered.
Then, without looking back, he added in a cold voice, "Don’t get any funny ideas or you won’t even have a coffin to be buried."
He walked to the door and paused for a brief moment to look back and saw Lyria glaring at him, her eyes burning with quiet hatred. Ramos sighed, shaking his head.
"Hah... I’m still terrible with women, even after all this time," he muttered. "Poor me." Then, without another word, he stepped out, leaving Lyria alone in the suffocating silence.
.....
Once the drama finished, Kael was forced to pack up and leave.
As the carriage sped down the road, Kael glanced at Ramos and Lyria, sensing a strange tension between them. The silence between the two felt thick, almost unnatural.
"Why do I feel something weird between you two?" he muttered, narrowing his eyes. "Did something happen?"
"NOOO!" Lyria denied loudly, almost too fast.
Kael’s suspicion deepened. The more she insisted, the more suspicious it seemed. He inched closer to her, lowering his voice.
"Did the old man molest you?" he whispered.
"FUCK YOU!" Ramos roared, his face twisting in rage. Without hesitation, he hurled his staff at Kael.
Kael caught it with one hand, smirking. "Oh? That reaction seems a bit too strong, old man. Maybe you really did something?"
"YOU DAMN BRAT! I’LL SHOVE THAT STAFF UP YOUR ASS!" Ramos cursed, trying to snatch it back, but Kael just chuckled.
Before Kael could tease him further, the carriage suddenly jolted to a stop. Kael, caught off guard, was flung forward—straight into Ramos.
BAM!
"AHHHH!"
Their heads smashed together, and both groaned in pain.
"You bastard... Do you want to kill me?!" Ramos clutched his forehead, his face twisted in agony.
"It’s not my fault! It’s the driver’s fault!" Kael huffed, shaking his head. He tapped on the window. "Oi! Why did we stop so suddenly?"
"My Lord, there seems to be a problem ahead," Gare, answered as he approached the carriage.
Kael frowned. "What happened?"
"We have knights ahead."
Kael’s brows furrowed. Without wasting time, he stepped out of the carriage, curious about the situation. But the moment his eyes landed on the scene before him, he froze.
"DAAAMMMNN!"
A large formation of knights stood in his path, their imposing aura radiating through the air. Even the weakest among them looked like a solid D-rank warrior. They stood in disciplined rows, exuding a pressure that made Kael’s instincts flare.
Then, as if rehearsed, the knights parted, making way for a rider approaching on a powerful steed. The man had sharp features, his gaze cold yet respectful as he rode forward.
Kael smirked inwardly. ’He’s going to act tough, disrespect me, and then I’ll get to slam his ass into the ground, right? Ahh, I love this.’
But just as Kael was preparing for a fight, the man pulled his horse to a sudden stop a few meters away. Then, in a fluid motion, he dismounted, landing on one knee before Kael.
CLANK!
The sound of metal echoed as the knight saluted with his fist over his chest. His voice rang out firm and unwavering.
"My Lord, I am Captain Hadel of the Third Legion of the Grand Duke’s forces. We have been sent under the Duke’s direct orders to ensure your safe return."
Kael blinked, his excitement deflating. He clicked his tongue in annoyance. ’Damn it. I can’t even enjoy beating them up this time.’
"Wait a minute," Kael said, turning to Baret.
He looked at Handel and then at Baret. There was a difference between heaven and hell.
"Didn’t you say you were part of the knights? Aren’t you a Blue Knight?"
Baret stepped closer, his face flustered. "My Lord, we are the lowest-ranking troops responsible for public safety. There is a difference between Blue Knight for public safety and Blue Knight Legion. The Blue Knights legion are an elite force, leagues above us. There’s a difference between heaven and hell. Only knights with extraordinary talent can advance to a Legion."
Kael raised a brow. "Tch. So you’re the lowest of the low? And here I thought you were some hotshot." He shook his head, clicking his tongue in disappointment. "You aren’t even worthy of being a pawn, yet you had the guts to try and kill me before? Che."
Baret stiffened under Kael’s scrutinizing gaze, his face burning with shame.
Kael then turned back to Captain Hadel. "So, why are you here?"
Hadel didn’t hesitate. "We were sent for you, my Lord."
"For me?"
"Yes. The Grand Duke issued orders across the entire Duchy. If you did not return by the 25th, the entire Legion was to be deployed to find you and bring you back—by force if necessary."
Kael’s expression darkened.
Suddenly, a deep chuckle echoed from the carriage. Ramos peeked his head out, his lips curling into a knowing smirk.
"Hehehe... It looks like someone pissed off the Demon King."
