Having returned to Shiliu Village, Ling Feng parked the tricycle in front of his house and then headed straight for the construction site.

The constant temperature room was starting to be capped, and workers squatted on the roof, installing the insulation layer.

There were still spectators around, but not as many as before.

Seeing Ling Feng arrive, the contractor hurried over and said to him, "We should be able to finish the work today, just some final touches tomorrow and it’ll be ready to hand over."

"Good, arrange for someone to show Lao Sun how to use the equipment so that he knows how to use it after you guys leave!" Ling Feng said.

"He’s already been actively inquiring with the technician. This thing’s operation is really simple, just a few buttons!" the contractor said.

"Oh, that’s even better."

Ling Feng nodded, surprised that Lao Sun was so proactive and had already started his duties!

After checking out the situation on the ground, he turned to go home, but before he reached his front door, he saw a black SUV coming his way.

The car was big, and when it reached Ling Feng’s doorstep, the driver seemed to have trouble passing because of the tricycle parked on the side of the road, so he honked his horn a few times vigorously.

Ling Feng frowned at this, quickened his pace, and moved the tricycle forward a bit!

The SUV’s engine roared, and then the passenger side window rolled down, a young man with a pale face leaned out and yelled, "Don’t you know how to park, is this road yours?"

Ling Feng glanced at him, unclear about the young man’s purpose, and replied indifferently, "The road isn’t mine, but this is my doorstep!"

"So what? You can park anywhere you want on your doorstep? Do you know that you’re blocking others?"

"From the city, aren’t you? Around here, not only can you park anywhere at your doorstep, but even in the middle of the road and it’s not a problem!" Ling Feng said with a cold sneer.

With the car windows so dark, he couldn’t see how many people were inside, nor the intention of the car, but seeing the other’s haughty attitude, he couldn’t help but retort!

"Pssh, bumpkin!"

The young man in the passenger seat looked at Ling Feng with disdain, flipped him the middle finger, then rolled up the window.

The driver stomped on the accelerator and sped away, leaving Ling Feng standing there, speechless.

He didn’t understand where this brash youth had come from, and what he was doing in Shiliu Village.

Outside the village lay deep mountains, and no one had ever driven up there before.

Watching the car disappear into the distance, heading straight for the mountains after leaving the village, Ling Feng was very puzzled.

At that moment, footsteps came from behind him, and Li Shiyun approached and asked, "What are you looking at?"

"That car is rather strange, I wonder what they’re up to in the mountains," Ling Feng said, turning around.

"Oh, those guys? They’re here for mineral exploration; the township called me about it," Li Shiyun said nonchalantly.

After a moment, he asked quickly, "Are they of the Luo Family?"

"How did you know?" Li Shiyun asked.

"I called Yuhe, and she said Chen Gang is planning to retire, leaving all matters of the mine to the Luo Family’s management," Ling Feng said.

Li Shiyun suddenly realized, then nodded, "That’s right, the people in the car must be from the Luo Family."

The SUV had vanished, but Ling Feng looked towards the direction of the western end of the village, slowly narrowing his eyes!

"These people move quickly, don’t they? Their reach has extended to such a remote place as Shiliu Village already?"

"I’m not quite sure what they’re up to either. Supposedly, Chen Gang had already checked out whether there are any veins of ore in all the places within Hua County. The Luo Family’s sudden forceful involvement might be due to reasons only known to them," said Li Shiyun.

Ling Feng nodded and after pondering for a moment, an idea suddenly popped into his head. So he turned and looked at her, "I want to sneak a peek at what these folks are up to. Do you want to come with me?"

"Ah?"

Li Shiyun was startled upon hearing this and then she asked with confusion, "Why? Are you that curious?"

"Firstly, I’m curious about their purpose, and secondly, I want to get a feel for the Luo Family’s foundation and see just how capable these people are," Ling Feng said with a smile.

"Get a feel?" Li Shiyun was taken aback.

"Details later. If you don’t want to go, I’ll just go by myself!" Ling Feng said, turning to leave.

"Wait, I’ll come with you!" Li Shiyun hurriedly grabbed his hand.

This was the first time she had taken the initiative to grab Ling Feng’s hand. After her face turned slightly red, she quickly let go and caught up, saying, "The Luo Family is no ordinary player. There might be some formidable people among them. We should be careful."

"No worries, everyone has just two hands and one head, who’s afraid of whom?" Ling Feng said with a laugh as he walked.

Li Shiyun naturally did not agree with his remark but did not say more. She just pursed her lips and followed him quickly.

After the two of them left the village, they didn’t walk far along the mountain road when they saw a black off-road vehicle parked not far away, with no road ahead.

The people from the vehicle were not in sight, having obviously gone into the mountains.

Ling Feng then turned his head to look at Li Shiyun, took her hand, and said, "Follow me, let’s get to a higher point and shadow them!"

Li Shiyun nodded and let him lead her by the hand. The two climbed up the nearby slope and began to scale the mountain ridge.

With physical strength surpassing that of ordinary people, they quickly reached the mountain top. From there, they had a clear view of the valley below and several individuals moving deeper into the valley.

Ling Feng concentrated and saw there were four people at the bottom of the valley; judging by the color of their clothes, there were three men and one woman.

The three men were carrying black cases, whereas the woman wasn’t holding anything, hands behind her back, looking around as if she were a tourist here for fun.

Because of the distance, they couldn’t make out the faces of the individuals, but this did not matter to Ling Feng—he simply wanted to know what they were up to!

Sitting down with Li Shiyun’s hand in his, Ling Feng said to her, "As long as they don’t go into the forest, it’s fine. If they enter the woods, we can still follow them without it being too late."

"I’ll listen to you, after all, you’re much more familiar with the area than I am," Li Shiyun nodded.

She was not particularly curious about the Luo Family’s business. Now sitting atop the mountain, she realized the site offered a very expansive view. Not only could she see the entirety of Shiliu Village, but even the town government located a few kilometers away was visible.

In the distance, the county city of Hua County was also in sight, though due to the weather, it was shrouded in a faint mist, making it a bit unclear.

Noticing that Ling Feng was silent beside her, Li Shiyun turned to look at him and saw him squinting, intently watching the four people in the valley.

"Did you notice something?" asked Li Shiyun.

"They’ve stopped; looks like they are about to start prospecting!" Ling Feng announced.

Li Shiyun turned back to look into the valley. Indeed, the group below had halted, placing the cases onto the ground and taking out some equipment.

"This is strange; I’ve never heard of any ore deposits here since I was a child. Can that black box really find them?" Ling Feng mumbled to himself.

"Modern technology is very advanced. If there really are metal deposits underground and they’re not buried too deep, it’s indeed possible to locate them with instruments," Li Shiyun said.
