The Greece Antagonist-Chapter 789 - 8 Release That Girl
Chapter 789: Chapter 8 Release That Girl! Chapter 789: Chapter 8 Release That Girl! Immortal Palace Asgard.
With the brilliant splendor of the Rainbow Bridge in motion, Luo En strode in from the Midgard World.
“Loki, my Lord, you’ve returned!”
Two Immortal Palace Guards hastily saluted, their taut bodies slightly relaxed, a touch of genuine joy rising on their brows.
Luo En nodded and asked, in a deep voice,
“His Majesty?”
“Still in the Golden Palace…”
“How long now?”
...
“Half a year, I suppose…”
The two guards replied with a wry smile, shadows passing over their faces.
Ever since His Majesty the King of Gods had paid a visit to the Norn Sisters, he had returned and without a word, holed himself up in the Golden Palace, staying alone in the great hall, drinking day and night, utterly intoxicated, refusing to see anyone, and neglecting the affairs of the Immortal Palace.
During that time, even as some Giants attempted to pass through the Iron Forest of Midgard to invade Asgard, His Majesty showed no concern, as if nothing in the outer world could pique his interest.
Had it not been for Lord Loki standing guard in the Midgard World, repeatedly driving the intruding Giants back to Jotunheim, the consequences might have been unimaginable.
Even so, without Odin, the godly king managing affairs, the order-less Immortal Palace gradually became a mess, and the Asa Pantheon of Gods were filled with trepidation.
“Lord Loki, it’s good you’ve come back, please persuade His Majesty.”
“Yes, yes, you are his blood-sworn brother, perhaps only your words can reach him.”
The two Immortal Palace Guards cast hopeful gazes at Luo En, earnestly making their request.
Luo En nodded slightly, without saying much, he stood and left the Rainbow Bridge, approaching the gate of the Golden Palace.
Seeking quiet, the gate was sealed from the inside with several Lun Runes, beyond the capacity of ordinary Asa Divine Race to enter.
However, this could certainly not stump Luo En, who also wielded the Rune.
With a flick of his finger in front of the gate, he casually undid the Rune Restriction and stepped inside.
No sooner had he entered than a sickeningly thick scent of liquor assaulted his nostrils, the vast palace nearly littered with the shattered remains of drinking vessels, leaving no place to step. And on the hard throne, a figure with disheveled hair and robe stained with wine stains was dozing against the back of the chair.
Three months had passed, and that once fiercely spirited silhouette became hunched, his hair tinged with gray, engulfed in a heavy air of dusk as if he were an old man close to his end.
Feeling the presence of a visitor, Odin on the throne opened his bleary eyes, gazed at the figure in the hall, then lazily turned over, muttering vaguely,
“Loki? Just in time, got any freshly brewed nectar? Bring me another 100 barrels!”
“There were a few scouts from the Giant Clan who nearly broke into the Immortal Palace, did you know?”
Luo En inquired lightly, his voice low.
Odin yawned, speaking with indifference,
“Whatever, let them come if they will, just don’t interrupt my drinking.”
Suddenly, he stood up from the throne, staggering down the steps, bent over to pick up a broken pottery shard still holding some leftover wine, attempting to satisfy his craving for a few more sips.
But a Divine Power surged forth, sending the shard in his hand flying away, and a faint snort resounded in the great hall,
“Is this how you be the King of Gods?”
“A king whose Divine Business is destined for destruction?”
Odin scoffed and shook his head, his single eye filled with scorn,
“Asgard will prosper under my hand but will also face destruction in my hands. This is the fate I learned from the mouth of the Norn Sisters. Since the end is already set, why should I bother for a world that is doomed?”
Luo En gazed at the despondent Odin before him and asked somberly,
“So you created Asgard just to witness its destruction? Is that the answer you got from fate?”
“What else? To struggle for a Divine Business that is bound for destruction? It’s all meaningless…”
“There’s no such thing as true immortality in this world! Life is so! Kingdoms are so! Divine Business is likewise!”
Luo En couldn’t help but interrupt Odin’s self-pity, snorting coldly,
“If everything is meaningless, then you should never have rebelled against Ymir!”
“If everything is meaningless, you shouldn’t be sitting here now!”
“Why not open the gates of the Immortal Palace, kneel at the feet of the Giants, and let them rule over the Nine Great Kingdoms? Wouldn’t that be better?”
Stung by these words, Odin’s face turned red with frustration,
“What can I do? What should I do? I pleaded with the Norn Sisters – the fate of Ragnarok is inescapable!”
“Fate, inescapable? Bullshit!”
Luo En interrupted Odin once more, utterly fed up, retorting sharply,
“Is an unoccurred ending an ending?”
Odin shuddered at the words, his desolate eyes sparking with exhilaration.
Yes, indeed! How could an unoccurred ending possibly be fated!
“Can fate truly change?” Odin’s voice trembled.
“Until the end is reached, everything is only a possibility. If the process that you write strays too far from the answer, the ending might just unfold in a different way!”
Luo En paused, then continued to muse meaningfully,
“Just as I said, there is nothing truly immortal in this world. Divinity is so, as is fate. How can you know, if you don’t try, that the Divine Business you’ve labored over will lose to those mere lines of fate?”

Hearing Luo En’s words, Odin’s stooped spine straightened in an instant, and he burst into triumphant laughter:
