Chapter 106: Chapter 103- Memories

Sol smiled.

Each time Yoon-Jae came over to help him, he would ask this same question out of concern.

But Sol could understand his emotions, he was asking a lot from Yoon-Jae to go through with these sessions every week.

"It’s okay Brother Yoon-Jae, don’t I always recover right after? Oh, and could you come every day for this week?"

Yoon-Jae sighed.

"Is it for the Hundred Plants and Herbs Dimension opening?"

Sol nodded.

"Damn it, fine! At least I can use it as an excuse to get out doing paperwork. Okay, get ready."

Sol closed his eyes and took several deep breaths. Yoon-Jae then stood behind him and placed his palm on top of his head.

Intense heat then slowly emanated from Yoon-Jae’s body into the surroundings.

A short period of silence fell in the courtyard before a horrifying explosion suddenly echoed out and broke it.

Crimson flames erupted from Yoon-Jae and covered Sol’s body.

The power of these flames was simply too terrifying.

The void around the two warped and distorted, even ripples were present as the flames form a small pillar in the courtyard.

First, the flames burnt away Sol’s clothes and then all the hair on his body.

What came next was his skin and flesh.

The smell of Sol’s skin being burnt was extremely unpleasant, and now that his muscle fibers were revealed it would have unsettled anyone who saw him like this.

Yoon-Jae had to look away.

He always did.

However, his concentration on controlling his flames never faltered for even a second.

The flames only targeted Sol’s outer body.

Even the ground beneath them was unharmed due to Yoon-Jae’s control.

Meanwhile, Sol’s expression was calm as he was being burnt alive.

He could no longer close his eyes as his eyelids were completely gone.

Yoon-Jae seeing this thought to himself.

’How is he always so calm during these moments? This also helps me train to control my flames, but I’m starting to lose confidence that they can even hurt someone.’

As Yoon-Jae was thinking this, Sol suddenly raised his head and glanced at him. Seeing this, he knew what Sol wanted, but he couldn’t help but looked at Sol with incredulity and asked.

"You want me to increase my flames?"

Sol nodded.

"I think my body is getting used to them at this level."

The vocal cords in Sol’s throat moved allowing a slightly distorted version of his voice to be heard through the flames.

Yoon-Jae didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at that. Soon, he formed a hand seal with his other hand. Immediately after, the cry of a phoenix rang throughout the courtyard.

The flames around the two increased in radius and became hotter.

"Brother Yoon-Jae a little more."

Yoon-Jae, upon hearing that, stared at Sol with his mouth hung open.

"Don’t worry, even if you lose control once or twice, I’m confident I can resist your flames before they can burn me entirely."

Yoon-Jae hesitated but then gritted his teeth. Then with a thought, his Fire Phoenix Innate Dharma sprang out of his body. It did a few turns in the air before it came back to overlap with his figure while spreading wings.

As this occurred, it seemed as if Yoon-Jae had become the embodiment of fire. His hair and eyes spurted flames while their intensity increased by more than three folds.

But it took Yoon-Jae everything he had to keep the flames in check. This state was not meant for delicate situations like this.

In Jianghu, there were two ways to use one’s Innate Dharma during battle.

For Weapon Innate Dharmas, the first method was using a technique to make it corporeal so they could fight with it.

The second method was that they could overlap it with a physical weapon to increase the power of their strikes.

Each Innate Dharma is different with varying characteristics, but these two methods are the same for everyone with a Weapon Innate Dharma.

However, for disciples with Divine Beasts Innate Dharmas, their method was slightly different from any other Innate Dharma users.

Indeed, they could have their Innate Dharma Divine Beast fight their opponents similar to a Weapon Innate Dharma user summoning theirs, but the difference came from the fact that rather than reinforcing weapons, they could allow their bodies to fuse with their Innate Dharmas.

Meanwhile, if a person with a Sword Innate Dharma tried that, their body would be torn to shreds by the sword’s Innate Dharma’s sword energy.

However, with that said, disciples with Divine Beast Innate Dharmas didn’t go unharmed. If their Innate Dharma was too strong, their bodies could crumble from trying to support its power.

At the very least they could only sustain this state for a short period of time.

Yoon-Jae was the same.

Though, he was slightly better off than most. Due to his Yin Constitution, fusing with his Ice Phoenix to transform into his ’Divine Ice Physique’ form was as simple as taking of a robe and putting it on, there was hardly any backlash. As activating his ’Divine Fire Physique’ by fusing with his Fire Phoenix, as he was doing now, that backlash would be greater if he went past a certain time limit. However, he was able to cool himself down when it got too much, allowing that time limit to extend indefinitely.

Currently, his lips frosted over as he exhaled a cold breath. This breath he exhaled had even frozen the air in front of him despite the flames around him.

As Yoon-Jae was concentrating on keeping his flames in check, he glanced at Sol.

’Is it here?’

As Yoon-Jae thought that a chill went down his spine.

An archaic aura suddenly wafted from Sol’s body. The faint tattoo of a crescent moon appeared on his forehead for a brief moment then disappeared.

Sol felt his dormant bloodline energy rush to circulate in his body. It worked to heal his injuries, but as his skin slowly healed it would be burnt by Yoon-Jae’s flames.

The bloodline energy seemed frustrated at this and so more poured out to flow through Sol’s body.

This was nothing new to Sol.

The energy would always appear mysteriously and try to heal him whenever he was severely injured, at the same time it would strengthen his body.

However, to benefit more from this energy, his Master came up with the idea of repeatedly injuring his body, so as to spur the bloodline energy into strengthening his body continuously.

That was how Sol trained with his Master, and now with Yoon-Jae’s help.

However, this time, something happened at this moment that had never occurred before.

"Hm?"

As more of the bloodline energy was released, Sol suddenly felt his head buzz.

All of a sudden, memories he couldn’t recognize began flooding into his mind.

....

BANG!

BANG!

"Dad! Dad! Can’t you teach me how to walk like that?"

In an expansive starry sky, a large man that was as big as a planet could be seen taking casual steps through the void.

Each of his steps would shake the stars near and far while allowing him to traverse incomprehensible large distances.

"Ha-ha! Son, you can’t walk like this, not for now."

The booming voice of this large man echoed out in starry void.

The child on his shoulders, who was quite large but significantly smaller than the man, pouted and asked impatiently.

"Then when am I going to be able to?"

"You brat, what did I say about having patience? If you do then-"

"It will sow seeds for opportunities to bloom! I know that already because you can’t stop repeating those annoying stuff!"

The boy folded his hands with an upset expression on his face.
