The Guide is Actually a Body-Switching Esper [BL]-Chapter 251: Hungry For...
Chapter 251: Hungry For...
Just as he thought he might, Damien ended the work early for the day. Or, at least early according to his standards. Both raids were temporarily canceled, allowing his team to return to their normal schedule of trainings and inspections. Which meant that for the next two weeks Damien would be moderately busy (according to his standards), and then he would be able to go on the trip with Lane to meet his grandmother.
Everything was working out alright.
Well... Almost everything. Except for his family life, or the relationship between his boyfriend and one of his sisters.
And to make matters worse, he had left them alone in the morning, just the two of them in his apartment... Thus, as soon as he was done with all the paperwork for the day, he rushed out, worriedly checking his phone.
It wasn’t so much that he thought that Lane and Clara might kill each other... Destroying property, however, was a whole other thing. Damien wouldn’t be surprised if the duo accidentally ended up turning a whole building into dust... Or the top two floors, at least. With Clara’s temperament, their turbulent relations, and Lane’s knack for destruction combined, anything could happen. Anything that wasn’t good. Damien was already half-prepared to see the news about a mysterious accident that caused a building to be blown off...
To his surprise, there wasn’t any such news. Nothing, aside from the message from Eloise letting him know that Clara had arrived home, and was furious.
Still, that wasn’t enough to put Damien at ease, and he quickly walked back home, just a little bit short of running.
Lane was in his apartment when he came, lounging on the couch with a game controller in his hands, playing some games. Where did that console come from, Damien didn’t know, it certainly wasn’t there before... But that was not the point.
Everything looked fine. With not a scratch on the walls or the table, the couch, windows, doors, the ceiling all intact... So the fight - because there most certainly had been a fight, Damien was sure of that - had not turned physical.
Well, that was a relief. At least both of them still had some self-control left.
"You’re back!" Hearing him come in, Lane immediately abandoned the game, tossing the pad aside. "How was work?"
"It was alright. Those two dungeons we had talked about are not going to be confiscated by the Association just yet... Lane, what are you doing?"
"Hmm?" Lane tilted his head. "Undressing you. Isn’t that obvious?"
Of course, that much was obvious from the moment Lane had pounced on him and started unbuttoning Damien’s shirt, but that wasn’t quite what Damien was asking about.
"Why are you undressing me?" he reiterated the question, grabbing Lane by the wrists.
"Well... I’ve been thinking..." Lane muttered, leaning closer, his lips brushing Damien’s neck. "We haven’t got a chance to baptize this place just yet..."
"Baptize?"
"Mn. What I mean, we haven’t had sex here yet..."
Shaking his head with half-amusement, half-exasperation, Damien let out a sigh. "Have you eaten dinner yet?"
"...Not yet. But you can be my dinner..."
"I’m hungry and I would like to have a proper meal first," Damien argued, to witch Lane could only respond with a groan. How could he possibly counter that?
"I will cook. And there will be a dessert afterward," Damien then added, cementing his victory.
"Hmm... Alright." Left with no choice, Lane pulled back, albeit unwillingly. "I’ve actually bought an apron for you, and I’d like you to try it on as you cook..."
"Is that so? Where is it?"
"On the counter, in the box."
There was indeed a box on the kitchen counter. Opened already, as Lane couldn’t help but take a look as soon as it arrived, but then the contents were placed back inside and the box closed again, with only the ripped tape betraying him. Not that Damien minded it. He just reached his hand inside...
"You mean this?" he asked, as he pulled out a bright pink, frilly little thing from the box.
Lane grinned in response. "Yeah! Do you like it?"
"It’s alright," Damien answered politely. He didn’t care about how it looked, it was just that, if he were to be honest... It didn’t seem like the most practical apron Damien had seen. But, if Lane wanted him to wear it...
"Not like that," Lane quickly stopped him, when he saw that Damien was about to put it on. "You’re supposed to wear it with nothing underneath..."
It took a moment for Damien to process it, what it was that Lane was truly hoping for. And once he finally did... He let out a sigh, shaking his head, and put the apron over his clothes, before turning to the fridge and cupboards to start on the dinner.
But his ears were burning red. Even if they were alone in the apartment, it was still too embarrassing! If Damien were to ever do something like that... He needed much more time to prepare.
"I’m sorry about Clara," he said after taking a minute to calm down, changing the topic. "She’s just..." He paused again. He wanted to defend his sister, but... All things considered, she was the one in the wrong. She overstepped, meddled in, and provoked Lane first. Even if she thought she had good intentions, she took it a step too far...
She was still his sister, though, and Damien cared about her. They had always been close, and never had any serious arguments, not until Lane had started seeing Lane a few months ago... Or seeing ’Aidan’, since Clara had no idea that all those men Damien had been involved with were actually Lane. Not that it would make the situation any better if she did... The point was, they had a great relationship otherwise, and Damien didn’t want it to sour because of his dating life...
But at the same time, he was also serious about Lane. He didn’t want his sister to get between them. Especially now, when after waiting for so long, the man finally started opening to him...
How was he going to reconcile them both, though? Clara wouldn’t ease on Lane, not until he and Damien had been in a relationship for... considering the type of person Lane was, probably a few years. And Damien couldn’t exactly ask Lane to endure it either...
The water started boiling, snapping Damien out of his thoughts.
"Do you think you two can... get along somehow?" he finally asked, without looking back at Lane.
"Well. That’s gonna be tough," Lane admitted, saying exactly what Damien was thinking. "But I’m willing to tolerate her, as long as she won’t come at me first..."
"...I’ll talk to her about that."
"No worries, I can always just toss her out of the door... Oh." Lane paused, getting more serious. "If she asks you to move in here... Will you allow it?"
"Here? As in this apartment? No, that would be a terrible idea," Damien answered without any hesitation, which made Lane exhale with relief.
"Then we’ll all good. We can deal with her somehow. Now... How long before dinner’s ready? I’m really curious to test the durability of our new bed!"
So impatient? Damien couldn’t help but sigh, shaking his head... ƒrēenovelkiss.com
