The Happy Farmer Wanderer-Chapter 69 Romance in the Car_1
"Why haven’t you replied to my messages?"
As soon as Wu Xingxing entered, she asked bluntly.
After Wu Xingxing made that phone call that night, she sent several messages over the past few days.
Li Qing had read them all, but he hadn’t responded to any.
"I didn’t know what to reply," Li Qing said indifferently.
"So do you mean you’re still mad at me?" Wu Xingxing’s lips puckered, her eyes brimmed with tears.
Li Qing hurriedly said, "I’m not mad, it’s just that I really didn’t know what to say, and it wasn’t something I could easily discuss with you."
"I wasn’t expecting you to say anything special, a casual reply would have been fine!"
Wu Xingxing pouted, her voice already edging towards crying.
This caught Li Qing off guard. He wanted to reach out to comfort her, but it felt awkward to do so.
"Look, I’m really not mad," Li Qing said awkwardly.
The messages Wu Xingxing had sent these past few days were all apologies.
Even if Li Qing had been a bit mad at the time, he had long since cooled off.
The girl was lowering her voice and humbling herself like this because she was interested in him.
Being a man, it couldn’t be good to hold onto that one extra question Wu Xingxing had asked and make too much of it. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Wu Xingxing was actually a nice girl; it was just that he happened to be a little overly sensitive that day.
"You’re truly not mad anymore?" Wu Xingxing suddenly broke into a smile, stealing a glance at Li Qing.
Li Qing nodded vigorously, "I was never mad at you, it’s just that the incident that day was too troubling."
"I understand, I was a bit insensitive that day," Wu Xingxing said with a twist, "Um, are you free today?"
"I am now," Li Qing replied.
In a little while, he had to do the minor tasks his sister-in-law had arranged, and in the evening, he was planning on going into the city with Hu Wei for some exposure.
"Could you take me home?" Wu Xingxing asked cautiously.
"You’re going back?" Li Qing suddenly felt an inexplicable sense of reluctance, but it was just a fleeting thought.
"Where did Hu Pangpang go? Why didn’t he take you?"
Although giving someone a ride wasn’t a big deal, with Hu Pangpang around, it wouldn’t be proper for Li Qing to take over.
Otherwise, Hu Youyu, who was eager to have Wu Xingxing as his daughter-in-law, might find more reasons to cause him trouble.
"He just went out. He even took his dad’s car, not sure what for," Wu Xingxing said.
"Then..."
Just as Li Qing was about to say that Hu Youyu was still at home, Wu Xingxing interrupted, "Last night, Uncle Hu and Auntie Yu Lan had a fight. This morning he was sulking, the house looked like a battleground."
"Why?" Li Qing asked curiously.
Wu Xingxing gave Li Qing a strange look, then said solemnly: "Because of you!"
"Last night Uncle Hu drank some alcohol and started cursing you again. Hu Pangpang and Auntie Yu Lan spoke up for you, and that’s how the argument began. Auntie Yu Lan even got slapped. I just couldn’t stay there anymore. I was going to ask Hu Pangpang to take me home first thing in the morning, but he left before me," Wu Xingxing explained.
"That old lunatic!" Li Qing cursed under his breath, feeling sorry for Yu Lan.
However, that slap Yu Lan received was on his behalf.
Li Qing thought he should find an opportunity to visit her.
"I’ll go find a vehicle. You go back and pack your things, and wait for me at the village committee," Li Qing said.
"No need, I’ve already brought my stuff." Wu Xingxing spoke and, with a swish of her long legs, went out the door.
When she came back in, she was carrying a backpack.
Li Qing couldn’t help but smile wryly, so she had been all prepared for it already.
"It looks like you’ve made your plans well in advance. Just wait for me for a while," Li Qing said.
"Sure, no rush."
Li Qing quickly washed his face and prepared a breakfast for the two of them.
Then he completed the tasks that Han Mei had entrusted him with one by one before borrowing a motorbike.
"Let’s go."
Wu Xingxing mounted the motorcycle, her hands hovering tentatively around Li Qing’s waist.
As Li Qing released the clutch, the bike lurched forward, and Wu Xingxing, who had been somewhat reserved, now clung tightly to his back.
The flimsy clothing did nothing to hinder the transfer of heat between the two.
Li Qing instantly felt two hot, soft lumps press tightly against his back.
"You did that on purpose, didn’t you?" Wu Xingxing rested her head on Li Qing’s shoulder and lightly chided.
Li Qing chuckled.
He hadn’t been doing it on purpose just now, but now he wanted to.
"You bad man."
Wu Xingxing reproached him, but instead of letting go of Li Qing, she held on even tighter.
Li Qing was taken aback.
Those two soft, warm lumps against his back suddenly felt even clearer.
Wu Xingxing’s initiative saved him from his mischievous thoughts and he rode steadily down the road.
"Do you have any plans for the future?" Wu Xingxing asked loudly.
Li Qing didn’t know how to answer that question again.
Future plans...
He couldn’t even see where his future path lay.
"We’ll just have to play it by ear; I don’t know what I’ll plan for the future," Li Qing said.
"But you should be thinking about getting married now, right?" Wu Xingxing asked again.
Li Qing gave a wry smile, "Do you think someone like me can find a girlfriend? A lonely guy with nothing to offer; no girl would like that."
"There is, why wouldn’t there be?" Wu Xingxing seemed anxious.
"You?" Li Qing asked with a deliberate smile.
"Me... I suppose I could," Wu Xingxing’s voice suddenly lowered, her face blushing as red as the sun at that moment.
"What did you say? See, I told you, you wouldn’t be interested in me," Li Qing shouted, unable to hear clearly because of the loud wind.
"Whatever," Wu Xingxing, annoyed, pinched Li Qing hard on his leg.
"Don’t move around, we could both end up dead if we crash," Li Qing quickly warned, slapping Wu Xingxing’s slender leg.
Wu Xingxing pouted, "Let it crash then, that’ll teach you to pretend not to hear."
"I really didn’t hear you," Li Qing shouted back.
But his hand, still clutching Wu Xingxing’s thigh, didn’t want to let go; despite the slender look, the feel was incredibly pleasant.
Unspeakably smooth.
Wu Xingxing was wearing a short skirt today, and when she sat at the back of the motorcycle, her smooth thighs, impossible to cover completely, pressed tightly against Li Qing’s legs, making his hand placement feel particularly natural.
"Are you taking advantage of me?" Wu Xingxing asked.
Li Qing was slightly stunned, thought for a moment, and then nodded earnestly.
He was indeed taking advantage, too smooth to bear letting go.
"You bad man," Wu Xingxing chided softly, "I won’t let you take advantage of me, you bad man who’s hard of hearing."
Although she said it wasn’t okay, her actions didn’t change at all, still holding tightly onto Li Qing.
This sent Li Qing’s heart racing.
This mischievous girl was doing it on purpose, letting him touch.
He couldn’t help but recall the scene in the wheatfield; that shade of pink was still vivid in his memory.
As his emotions stirred, Li Qing’s fingers stealthily crept upwards.
With just a gentle reach, he encountered the seam of her legs hidden beneath the short skirt.
"Ah! Don’t move around there," Wu Xingxing suddenly exclaimed with a start, shifting backward.
But as she moved back, the area Li Qing could touch only expanded.
A mysterious valley without an ounce of excess flesh, warm and breathing, appeared beneath Li Qing’s palm.
"Ah, no, no, don’t touch," Wu Xingxing’s face instantly flushed through, and she quickly shifted forward again.
She seemed to be trying to push Li Qing’s hand out, but her movement instead squeezed his hand tightly between them, making his touch even firmer.
The warm sensation under his hand set Li Qing’s heart ablaze, and his fingers started to fidget and lightly dig in.
"No, no, stop moving, please," Wu Xingxing’s body went limp, her voice carrying a moan.
