The Happy Farmer Wanderer-Chapter 767: A New Direction of Development_1
Li Qing doesn’t lack money now, even if he drinks wine that costs tens of thousands, it’s just that and nothing more.
He mainly feels like it’s a waste for a wild boar to eat fine bran; drinking this kind of wine, which is more suited to showing-off occasions, seems a bit extravagant for him.
But Yu Baishuo is clearly an expert in this area, thoroughly familiar with the origins of this wine and how to drink it.
Li Qing suddenly laughed and said, "Actually, since you have international connections, have you considered getting into the wine business? Selling this kind of high-end stuff. I might not know much about red wine, but I know that in our country, the baijiu industry is actually very profitable. The legitimate wine makers may not earn that much, but the counterfeiters easily make millions a year."
His purpose in meeting Yu Baishuo today was to talk about her career change.
Only, he had been so busy working on this fertile ground that he had almost forgotten about it.
"Actually, that’s quite a good suggestion," Yu Baishuo said thoughtfully. "If I did red wine, some of the connections I have from selling Wenguan Leaves would really come in handy. Many of our middle-class compatriots like to drink wine and are always looking for a particular region, but they don’t know much about the vineyards or their rankings."
"Like in the Bordeaux region, there are thousands of vineyards, and not many people know which ones are of superior quality. But their bottles all have Bordeaux labels, and this seems like something that could really work."
"I really do think this is worth considering. Lü Zong’s connections are also quite substantial. You could definitely collaborate with each other," Li Qing mused seriously. "Choose wines that are of good quality but not too expensive, and you could join forces to be a strong team."
Yu Baishuo looked at Li Qing with a mischievous smile and said, "Don’t underestimate my local connections, darling. I can handle commodities like Wenguan Leaves that easily reach ten or a hundred million; surely I’m not lacking in local resources. Don’t really take me just for a common buyer; Lü Changxi has strong connections, but I’m not necessarily worse off than him."
Yu Baishuo, like Wang Baichuan, had always had a poor impression of Lü Zong because of his background.
There was a hint of disdain in her words, and Li Qing understood completely. He smiled and said, "You’re all leaders in your respective fields in our county, so it’s only right that you have powerful connections."
"What I mean is, now that you both are in the wine business, you could complement each other on these matters, exchange resources, tie in sales, things like that, and you could stabilize the market in a short period of time."
After a moment’s thought, Yu Baishuo nodded. "I’ll find some time to meet with him and talk about this in detail. But before that, I need to get in touch with my clients and make a trip to see for myself and discuss a partnership or two."
"You’ve decided just like that to get into the wine business?" Li Qing asked.
"Recently I’ve been considering switching to something else to do anyway. The market for Wenguan Leaves is bound to drop significantly next year, and continuing in that field would certainly limit profit margins. Your suggestion is very tempting to me, and actually, it doesn’t interfere with my continued involvement in acquisitions," Yu Baishuo nodded and said. "I’ll have a look around in person when the time comes. If this really seems doable, I’ll go for it."
"You sure make quick decisions," Li Qing laughed. "This is a big deal after all; you should give it some serious thought."
With a light chuckle, Yu Baishuo said, "At least I’m sure the idea is right. As to whether it’s feasible, that’s something that needs further confirmation. I must visit the place and do some market analysis. It won’t be settled without at least half a year’s time."
Li Qing nodded. "As long as you’re confident about it, that’s fine. I just thought of it and mentioned it on a whim. I was wondering if there was any way I could help, but if you’re going into this, it seems like there’s not much I could do. Maybe I could just invest in it when the time comes."
"You want to invest in me?" Yu Baishuo said playfully, snuggling up to Li Qing, her delicate chin tilted slightly, her eyes filled with sweetness and affection, and a touch of playful mischief.
"If you don’t need it, pretend I didn’t say anything," Li Qing said with a smile.
"Of course, I need it. But I think you might want to invest in my body instead, keeping me well-fed and insatiable every day. As for the business, I’ll be the one to support you," Yu Baishuo said with a coquettish laugh. "I might not have loads of money, but I can still handle a couple of million. Don’t underestimate those of us in the acquisitions and scrap collecting business in this day and age."
"Of course not, how could I possibly look down on that," Li Qing said with a laugh.
"Then let’s agree on that then," Yu Baishuo said with a cheerful laugh, tilting her pale neck. "I feel like I’ve got my energy back. Are you hungry for it?"
...
Li Qing had just woken up from Yu Baishuo’s warm embrace the next day when Dian Chunqiu’s call came in.
"Are you free? Come to the rooftop," Dian Chunqiu said in his typical short and direct manner.
Li Qing stared at his phone for a good seven or eight seconds before getting out of bed, fuming.
He didn’t disturb Yu Baishuo, who had been kept up all night and was still sound asleep, quietly dressed and rushed to the rooftop of Impression Hotel.
Seeing the bulky figure standing at the edge of the rooftop, identical to the one from the previous night, Li Qing asked in anger, "Chief, can we have a little public conscience? Disturbing someone’s sleep early in the morning is bad enough, but how can you also have a tracker on me?"
"When did I put a tracker on you?" Dian Chunqiu turned around and asked with a hint of fatigue in his expression.
"If you didn’t put a tracker on me, then how is it that no matter where I am you can easily find me?" Li Qing demanded loudly.
Dian Chunqiu smiled, then suddenly threw a paper crane into the air.
The paper crane was burnished red, looking just like a real one but much smaller.
It circled in the air before flying straight towards Li Qing.
"This is how I track you," Dian Chunqiu said. "You should spend more time reading the documents in the office, especially about the skills and secrets of the various Sects. Don’t make such a fool of yourself again." 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
Li Qing immediately felt a bit embarrassed. Damn, the Cultivation World really does have a variety of strange and diverse techniques.
"Chief, when did you get my birth details?" he grumbled. "I’ve heard about this too."
"Who told you you need someone’s birth details to track them with a paper crane? You really should go and read those documents," Dian Chunqiu scolded. "There are countless ways for Sects to find people or objects. Although I use a paper crane as well, I don’t need birth details. There’s a cause and effect bond between us, and I can use that to locate you."
