Chapter 804: Chapter 804: The Simple Future

Things went a lot smoother than Li Qing had imagined.

After all, he wasn’t competing with everyone for profits; he simply set some requirements and left the rights with the village. There weren’t many places they could object to. Those stubborn types who insisted on putting themselves first were not only unindulged by Li Qing, but also by the villagers.

After some discussions, the village selected a few representatives with some authority, who, under the leadership of Qin Wenjun, established a temporary group.

Next, they would screen the qualifying households and then hang up a lodging sign.

In the future, whether it was visitors to the village or those needing accommodation after meals, they would use that sign as a criterion.

Although it sounds simple, there was actually a lot to do.

Of course, this had little to do with Li Qing now; he just used this idea to say a few words.

In the late afternoon, around three or four, Li Qing witnessed the impact of the advertisement Tang Rou had created.

It couldn’t be described as a sea of people, but the barbecue stall was continuously filling up every so often.

Li Qing hadn’t even noticed where these people had come from, as he was just playing with Qin Wenjun inside the convenience store for a while. When he came out again, the place was packed.

His sister-in-law and Tian Yue’e had already suited up and gotten busy.

This sudden change felt to Li Qing as if he had been idle for a moment, and then the world had changed all at once.

"Sister-in-law, when did you guys get here?" Li Qing asked as he entered the barbecue shop.

Han Mei was handling a few cold dishes and laughed upon hearing this, "While you and Wenjun were flirting with each other. You two really, with so many people outside, you started getting busy inside."

"Didn’t do anything," Li Qing said somewhat embarrassedly, "She just bought some new clothes and asked me to help her check them out."

"Come off it, hmming and hawing and making all that noise, you think we don’t have ears?" Han Mei teased with a laugh. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"We were just messing around," Li Qing said.

He and Qin Wenjun were indeed about to get carried away, but it was interrupted before it started, and he was really just playing around, briefly enjoying the services of Qin Wenjun’s warm little mouth; that was about it.

"I know, just messing and playing," Han Mei laughed, "Don’t just stand there, since you’re here, hurry up and help out, go and order the food."

Li Qing gave an acknowledgment, picked up the menu, and left the barbecue shop.

While ordering, Li Qing chatted briefly with the visitors.

Only then did he learn that they were the people who had stayed in the village the previous night.

They spoke highly of their rural experience over the past couple of days.

Some had even brought their families to let their children get close to nature and experience the fun their parents had back in the days.

The activities they did that day were almost unbelievable to Li Qing.

Climbing the mountain to roast potatoes, wading in the river to catch fish and shrimp, playing with mud with the kids...

This matter, Li Qing found quite hard to comprehend.

He had been thinking of slightly more upscale locations, like visiting the countryside to see the local customs and experiencing farm life, but who knew they would be so down-to-earth.

During the endless cycle of order-taking and serving, Li Qing worked until midnight.

Then... he was almost worn out.

After a full shift of personal experience, he once again contemplated the idea of having his sisters-in-law retire early.

The job was really tiring.

But as soon as Li Qing started to speak, he was firmly rejected by Han Mei and Tian Yue’e.

Their stance was decisive, not only wanting to work but also to grow the business, turn it into a resort, and then brand it...

Such grand words made Li Qing’s head buzz.

He could understand their persistence, but he couldn’t fully grasp it.

Li Qing gave up and had no choice but to start rethinking his plans for the future.

Given the escalating determination of his sisters-in-law, it seemed that the ideas concerning Shili Yi could essentially be put to rest.

However, Qi Mengru had gotten that place ready for him, whether or not Li Qing planned to expand in that direction, she still had to pick out a house for him; these two matters didn’t actually conflict. The arrangements Li Qing needed to make there, due to a potential demolition, had not yet been scheduled.

When he returned to his sister-in-law’s place that evening, it was almost one in the morning.

Because of Li Qing’s return, the family gathered once again.

Except for Zi Ling who had returned to Mountain Gate, everyone from the village who should have been there was present; a group of women sat in the living room of his sister-in-law’s house dreaming about future prospects, discussing very excitedly and animatedly.

Li Qing sat quietly on the side, listening to them discussing the future of the barbecue restaurant, and suddenly realized that he had never really understood what his sisters-in-law genuinely wanted to do.

Wu Xingxing and Qin Wenjun were relatively less enthusiastic, but his sister-in-law, Tian Yue’e, and Yu Lan seemed to genuinely pour their hearts and souls into it, treating it as a genuine career.

The plump orange cat strutted in from the door and curled up at Li Qing’s feet.

"Qingzi, have you always thought that now you’re making money, we could just enjoy life quietly and securely?" Qin Wenjun sat next to Li Qing, the broad overcoat she wore barely concealing the black spaghetti straps underneath, seemingly her only attire.

Li Qing nodded, "Otherwise, I wouldn’t have kept considering moving towards Shili Yi."

"Living means doing something, even if the money isn’t much, but having the motivation and enthusiasm to live is vital. Especially now that you have money; with your backing, we have nothing to worry about and can fully commit to doing things we truly enjoy," Qin Wenjun said with a smile.

"I just heard you all talking, and I feel like you might have always thought this way, and you haven’t really grasped the ideas of your sister-in-law and Sister Yue’e. We could do it at Shili Yi too, as long as there’s no demolition, we can definitely open another store there."

"By spreading out, we can run between here and there, covering both places. Actually, the biggest advantage is it could help us avoid the harm of gossip and rumors. It’s just like now, you often run around outside, so you hear fewer rumors, but they are always there."

Li Qing nodded, he was aware of this matter.

It’s just that, perhaps because his business was still considered decent and he had some respect in the village, those rumors never came to the surface.

"Do you think we can continue there?" Li Qing asked.

"If there’s no demolition, I think we definitely can. After all, I have plenty of sisters. If you were to bring them all back to the village in the future, do you think you could live peacefully? Likely, villagers would climb over your wall daily to catch a glimpse of the spectacle," Qin Wenjun said with a hint of annoyance.
