Chapter 808: Chapter 808: Small but Crafty

Although wearing clothes in this weather didn’t make it feel very cold, stripping them off and sneaking into a small grove of trees would definitely not be a pleasant experience. Li Qing, who had reached the mid-level of Qi Cultivation, had some resistance to the cold, but he was worried Guan Lin might be uncomfortable.

In cold conditions, even the fieriest passion inside has to die down significantly.

After thinking for a moment, Li Qing pulled Guan Lin through the front door.

It was better to sneak around inside the house than freeze outside.

"Yue Qin is at home, Qingzi, I think we should still sneak into the grove. It’ll be fine. If it really doesn’t work out, we can get a room in town," Guan Lin said somewhat shyly, whispering to Li Qing.

"Going back and forth, wouldn’t that delay you getting home? I know you don’t have much spare time," Li Qing whispered. "It’s okay, we’ll go to my room. Yue Qin probably won’t just come into my room. We’ll just close the door and try to keep it down a bit."

"Well... okay then," Guan Lin nodded bashfully and glanced nervously around.

The yard was eerily quiet, no sign of what Tian Yueqin was up to.

"Let’s just walk in boldly. Later, we won’t draw the curtains, just be a little careful," Li Qing said as he pushed open the door.

But as soon as he stepped in, he was stunned.

Their eyes met, and even the air around them seemed to be charged with awkwardness.

Tian Yueqin was sitting at the table in Li Qing’s room doing her homework, with a ballpoint pen in her mouth, curiously asking, "Brother Qingzi, what are you guys... going to do?"

"Oh, that, it’s nothing, keep doing your homework. Teacher Guan said she wanted to help me with..." Li Qing suddenly found himself at a loss for a good excuse, especially after what he had just said.

"Qingzi asked me to check on the curtains!" Guan Lin said, her expression slightly unnatural. "You know your Brother Qingzi’s new house is almost ready, right? We need to plan the interior decoration soon, and I have a bit of a knack for it, so he asked for my help."

Tian Yueqin’s clear, lively eyes scanned both Li Qing and Guan Lin, then teased with a drawn-out tone, "Why do you need to look at curtains so openly, and even mentioned being careful? What do you need to be careful about?"

"Your Teacher Guan is shy, worried that if the two of us are seen alone together, you might misunderstand," Li Qing said sternly.

Tian Yueqin giggled, "Is that really the case? It doesn’t quite seem like it to me."

"Otherwise, what else would you think it is?" Li Qing asked.

Tian Yue’e’s mischievous laughter broke out, "Brother Qingzi, you really don’t need to do this behind my back; if you just say so, I could even hold the door for you. I know what is going on after all. Hasn’t my sister told me? Otherwise, why would I be so chummy with Teacher Guan? After all, she is my teacher; without Brother Qingzi, I wouldn’t dare be so bold."

Could Tian Yue’e have told Tian Yueqin these things?

The answer is a resounding no!

Although that woman is quite boisterous and absolutely oblivious to boundaries when stirred up.

But Li Qing knew well, she was absolutely discreet in these matters and would never blabber recklessly.

"You little brat, what do you know? Stop talking nonsense," Li Qing said sternly.

Tian Yueqin shrugged. "You don’t have to be so cautious, I really do know. Are you guys planning to do that thing in this room? Then go ahead, I’ll go to another room. But, do you really not need me to watch the door? In case any bad guys burst in, I could block them for you."

"Nothing of the sort, don’t spout nonsense," Li Qing said.

No matter what Tian Yueqin said, he had only one principle: never admit to anything, even if it killed him.

"Brother Qingzi, why be so stubborn? I’m just saying this because I don’t want to get in the way of you and Teacher Guan’s moment," Tian Yueqin said with a sly smile, packing up her books, "But, you can pretend I don’t know anything."

After dropping that line, Tian Yueqin made a face and quickly left the room.

Guan Lin was so embarrassed she almost buried her face in her ample bosom. After Tian Yueqin had gone, she said softly, "Qingzi, maybe we should call it a day. That little rascal almost scared me to death."

"Let’s meet in town some other day. Principal Qi has been talking about you these past few days. She sounds quite resentful. It seems you haven’t visited her in a while, right?"

Li Qing patted his forehead and nodded. "It has been some time, indeed. There’s been too much going on outside lately."

"From her tone, it feels like you haven’t visited for several months," Guan Lin teased with a laugh. "The way she speaks, so wistful, I can’t help but empathize. How about this, let’s go to town tomorrow, and you can deal with both of you together?"

"What are you saying, how is that dealing with it?" Li Qing said.

Guan Lin couldn’t help but chuckle and nodded, "It’s not dealing with it, it’s looking after."

"Are you really not going to try today?" Li Qing asked, still somewhat hopeful.

Guan Lin gently tugged at Li Qing’s arm, bashfully saying, "Let’s hold off for a day. Tomorrow you can do whatever you want with me, okay? Although Yue Qin isn’t my student now, she was under my guidance before. It would be really embarrassing for her to know about this."

Li Qing didn’t insist anymore and reluctantly agreed.

"Then I’ll be going now," Guan Lin said, looking up at the curtain in Li Qing’s room, "Why don’t I take care of the curtains for you? I do have some knowledge about it, and I’ll pick a few options for you to choose from later. The new house should have some changes, our old aesthetic is too outdated."

Li Qing smiled and nodded, "Alright, since you’re taking the initiative, I certainly won’t hold back."

Guan Lin giggled, "It’s something I should do, right?"

Li Qing saw Guan Lin out and upon returning, he saw Tian Yueqin lurking at the entrance of Han Mei’s room, peeking sneakily.

"Brother Qingzi, why did you send Teacher Guan away? It wasn’t really because I scared her, was it?" 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

"Stop talking nonsense, you little brat, what do you know? Teacher Guan was really here to help me with the curtains. Spending all day not focusing on your studies, what nonsense are you thinking about?" Li Qing scolded angrily.

This little devil is as troubling as her sister.

"Brother Qingzi, I’m already an adult, you know. I know what I should know, alright?" Tian Yueqin said. "You’re still pretending with me. I do know, you know. But I didn’t mean to ruin your moment. I should have hidden myself earlier."
