The Happy Farmer Wanderer-Chapter 843: The Woman Who Enjoys the Drama
The battle at the Gao family was fierce, and as Li Qing strolled by like nothing was wrong, there were cracking and smashing sounds all over the yard, as pots, pans, ladles, cups, and bowls flew out of the rooms as if they were worthless.
"Gao Li you son of a bitch, I want a divorce, a divorce!"
"I can’t stand another day of this life. How much have you earned in just a few days? Out there flirting with women, and even getting scammed, to the point they call my number, do you have no shame? Even if you can’t resist the urge to find someone, at least find someone decent. Who the hell are you hooking up with? You dumbass, you!"
Yang Xuelan’s voice was like an enraged rooster, almost hysterical as it came out of the room.
She cursed and smashed things with astonishing consistency.
Li Qing peered into the yard from the entrance but didn’t see where Gao Li was hiding.
He slowly looked away, turning his attention to the woman standing at the other side of the doorway, extravagantly dressed in a luxurious fur coat and a short skirt that revealed her thighs. "What you’re doing is a bit much, isn’t it? If you’re going to scam someone, scam them, but why bring it to their house? Get going, or I’m calling the police."
"No, you’ve got it wrong, I’m not here for money." The woman quickly waved her hands and said.
This woman had a naturally pretty oval face, which would be considered innocent if not for her attire.
But her chestnut-brown wavy hair, the somewhat ostentatious white short fur coat, and the tight skirt revealing her thighs gave her a worldly air, taking away from her innocence.
Every aspect of her appearance seemed to testify to her worldly experience, immediately suggesting she was a woman who had been through a lot.
However, after taking a closer look, Li Qing noticed that although the woman’s facial features were youthful amidst the worldliness; if she were indeed in that line of work, she’d probably do quite well, and her legs were pretty nice too.
"No worries, whether it’s a misunderstanding or not, you don’t need to make excuses to me. I’m their neighbor, and I couldn’t just stand by without saying a word. I think you’d better leave quickly, or I might make you cough up all the money you scammed!" Li Qing’s eyes suddenly widened as he exclaimed, "Hey, wait, that money should be returned anyway!"
"Did you two sleep together? How much did you get paid?"
"Bro, what are you talking about? Who did I sleep with? There’s nothing like that, and I didn’t take any money!" The woman was getting somewhat agitated.
Li Qing nodded, "I get it now. The kid didn’t bring enough money, and your accomplice took it all. You didn’t get your share, so you followed him home to get it, right?"
"What’s wrong with you? Nothing happened. At most, I might have bumped into your arm or leg. You actually dare accuse me of coming here to extort money just because you were shortchanged?"
"Big brother!" The woman angrily raked her hair with her hands, "Please stop your wild guesses. I do not engage in that sort of work. I’m just here looking for a house, and I happened upon this. Just because I was curious and looked a bit longer, do you have to slander me like this?"
"Wait, you...looking for a house?" Li Qing froze.
"Yeah, I’m planning to rent a small courtyard, do some renovations, and maybe start an online store or something." The woman glared fiercely at Li Qing as she spoke.
Li Qing smiled sheepishly, "My apologies, I misunderstood and jumped to conclusions."
The woman’s mouth curled disdainfully, and she rolled her eyes, "That’s an understatement. You didn’t even give me a chance to explain and just rambled on. Why didn’t you ask me first?"
"I’m pretty close with the neighbors, I got carried away." Li Qing made up an excuse.
Although he had a good relationship with both Gao Li and Yang Xuelan, he truly wasn’t excited.
It was just... he had been misled by the woman’s attire. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
It wasn’t that her outfit was indecent, but rather that indecent women often favored such flashy dress.
The woman snorted coldly and looked Li Qing up and down before asking, "Are you a local?"
"Yeah, born and raised," Li Qing replied, poking his head around to glance into the yard.
He finally saw Gao Li, hiding in the corner of the courtyard like a scared turtle, not making a sound.
"Do you know if there’s anyone in the village who would be willing to rent out their house? Preferably on a long lease, like thirty or forty years," the woman asked, her tone slightly softer.
Li Qing thought carefully, "You mention that, but it’s really not going to be easy. There are abandoned houses, sure, but there are very few habitable ones that people are willing to rent. If you’re serious about this, I can help you ask around in our chat group."
"Of course I’m serious. Why else would I come all this way?" the woman said. "You help me ask, and if things work out, I’ll give you a big red envelope. There might even be an opportunity for us to collaborate in the future."
"Okay, I’ll ask for you." Li Qing took out his phone, opened the village chat group, and sent out a message.
"How did you even think to come to our village to rent a house? It’s relatively remote here, isn’t it?"
A cunning and somewhat proud glimmer appeared in the woman’s eyes as she said, "Then you’re mistaken. Your village is not in a remote location. Plus, I’ve got a bit of insider information. Your village is likely to encounter a great opportunity soon. If you’re working outside, here’s a piece of advice for you: start a small business at home."
"Our village? What opportunity could there be? There’s a town in between!" Li Qing shook his head.
"Big brother, you really don’t understand the business, do you? How popular is rural tourism now? There’s all sorts of support," the woman said while waving her finger. "This place of yours, although a bit primitive, has convenient transportation and a fine view. Plus, you can dig out some historical elements to work with. Such things, with a bit of marketing, can outdo places like Peach Blossom Village by far."
Li Qing had actually caught the implied meaning in her words; their village might have already been tied to a project, or maybe the plans Qin Wenjun had made before had shown results, and the county was ready to start on the project.
This woman probably had received some insider information and was planning to make the first move.
For some wealthy individuals, whether or not they succeed in doing business in such a place doesn’t really matter. They can afford it either way.
Their principle is to cast a wide net and target the big fish.
By seizing potential resources before the news comes out, if the place really takes off, they could make tens of thousands, or even hundreds of thousands, with a simple handover of a storefront.
Even if the place doesn’t catch fire and lacks momentum, they had entered the market when it was cheapest, and they hadn’t spent much; they could afford the loss and sometimes sell at a low price anyway.
"Are you so certain our village will take off?" Li Qing asked.
"Your village has talented individuals who understand marketing. Just look at the last two events that were organized; even ordinary farmers are doing business now. Does that sound plausible to you? Anyway, I think the chances are pretty good," the woman replied.
