The Happy Farmer Wanderer-Chapter 941 Sin
After listening to Wu Yuzong’s statements, Li Qing had been bottling up a fire inside his heart.
This fire made him feel suppressed all over, as if a huge stone were blocking his chest.
The only thing that could clear his mind was violence.
However, he couldn’t hit Wu Yuzong anymore.
Even if the boy had a tough bone structure, if Li Qing hit him a few more times, the boy would definitely die.
Unexpectedly catching a new Ah Gou, this guy turned out to be a donkey egg glistening on the surface, his body seemed muscular, but was actually too frail to withstand a beating, which instantly frustrated Li Qing.
After furiously slapping him several times, Li Qing slammed Ah Gou hard onto the ground.
"Police, you are breaking the law knowingly, I’m going to report you, I’m going to sue you!"
Ah Gou’s mouth was smeared with blood, his face so swollen it was nearly unrecognizable as human.
His current appearance looked more like an air-filled piglet, albeit piglets have a more uniform face color, whereas his face was a chaotic bloom of blue, red, black, and purple.
Although Li Qing had held back nearly seventy to eighty percent of his strength while slapping, even the remaining twenty to thirty percent of his strength was too much for a mortal to bear, looking like a ghost with just minor injuries.
Li Qing worried that he might damage his mouth too badly for him to speak later, so he controlled his strength and didn’t dare to beat him more.
"You sure talk a lot of nonsense." Li Qing lifted his foot and stomped hard on Ah Gou’s shin.
A muffled crack resounded.
Ah Gou’s face immediately turned red, and he bit his teeth tightly together.
It was apparent that he was in pain, but his bones were also unusually tough, so he didn’t make a single sound.
Seeing him like this, Li Qing felt a bit relieved, "That’s right, just like that, the way you were yapping I thought you were quite fierce."
Disdainfully swearing, Li Qing glanced at Huan Ling Ji and nodded.
However, Huan Ling Ji said, "It’s okay, from what I see, you could probably hit him a bit more to let off some steam. Don’t let these scumbags make you angry, it’s not worth it."
"I feel a lot better now, and since I can’t fully let go, let’s just leave it at that," Li Qing said.
Huan Ling Ji nodded lightly, "Then I shall begin now."
"Wait, wait..." Ah Gou suddenly yelled aloud.
He seemed to have changed his mind and was preparing to say something.
But Huan Ling Ji didn’t give him the chance to speak; she simply raised her hand and sent a pink force of Spirit Power straight into Ah Gou’s forehead. More convenient methods were available, and neither Huan Ling Ji nor Li Qing really intended to let Ah Gou confess voluntarily.
Almost in an instant, Ah Gou’s expression became vacant, his gaze hollow, resembling a walking corpse.
"Director Jia, which of the two of you will do the questioning?" Li Qing asked.
Director Jia, who had just chain-smoked three cigarettes, and Wang Baichuan finally turned around.
Director Jia glanced at Ah Gou, who looked neither human nor ghost, and shook his head with a smile. He then said to Li Qing, "Listening to the noise just now, I was truly afraid that you might have killed this guy. Fortunately, you knew how to control your blows."
"Director Jia, I certainly still have that sense of measure," Li Qing said with a somewhat helpless smile.
It seemed like the old man didn’t trust him enough.
"Ah, such a key figure, I can’t help but worry," Director Jia said with a smile, then turned to Wang Baichuan, "Baichuan, why don’t you do the questioning? Don’t overlook any details, and we’ll chime in whenever necessary."
Wang Baichuan didn’t demure and nodded, then asked Li Qing, "Can I just start asking him directly now?"
Li Qing nodded slightly, "Ask away, he should be at his most docile right about now."
Wang Baichuan chuckled, "That description must be quite accurate."
After making a joke, Wang Baichuan’s expression became serious again, and he asked Ah Gou, "How do you usually contact Wu Yuzong?"
Ah Gou’s dull eyes rolled around, seemingly puzzled by Wang Baichuan’s question, "I call him, how else could I contact him? You know me, aside from calling, do you think I could come up with anything better?"
Li Qing leaned over to Wang Baichuan, "He’s being influenced by an Illusion Technique; he thinks you’re the closest person to him, or rather, a nonexistent person in his mind, yet someone who can make him spill all his secrets. You can ignore that and just ask directly."
Wang Baichuan nodded, then continued, "Besides Wu Yuzong, you don’t have other subordinates?"
"What subordinates? He’s my partner," said Ah Gou, "Apart from him, I do have another one—That old guy... Well, how should I put it, you’d be better off not meeting him. Even I don’t like dealing with that old fart."
"Explain in detail," Wang Baichuan commanded.
"What’s there to explain? Everyone in Tongcheng should know him by the rag-picking old lunatic," although Ah Gou’s expression was blank, his speaking pace was quite fast, abnormally so, as if he was a robot with an increased speech rate.
His face showed no emotion, but his words poured out of his mouth like beans spilling out, and then he quickly shut his mouth again, not pausing in between.
"I don’t even know that old man’s name. In our line of work, respecting the secrets of partners is the rule. If he doesn’t disclose anything, we won’t go snooping around. A lot of people appear one way on the surface, but nobody knows how much power they really have behind them, so we often don’t delve into unnecessary matters," Ah Gou quickly said.
"That old man showed up here two years ago, but he’s a habitual offender, even to the extent that he’s been selling children his whole life. He’s also the biggest custom client among our partners; you get what I mean? Whatever we need, he customizes.
"Moreover, his efficiency is unmatched. For instance, if I need a kidney today, he can deliver it by tomorrow. The phrase he’s told me most often is, ’Here, it’s still warm.’ Goddamn, as someone in this business, even I’m starting to develop a psychological shadow from his words, always dreaming of his wretched old face."
The expression on Wang Baichuan’s face was now beyond grim; it was a severe shade of livid.
The expressions of Li Qing and the others weren’t much better either.
Although Li Qing had already endured a soul-crushing dialogue from Wu Yuzong, hearing Ah Gou’s words made him feel incredibly uneasy all over. The fire in his chest, which had just relaxed a bit, flared up vehemently once again.
He even felt an urge to cleave these scumbags alive with his own hands.
Suppressing the discomfort in his heart, Wang Baichuan asked sternly, "You just mentioned ’your group’—do you have any other accomplices?"
A hint of displeasure appeared in Ah Gou’s dazed expression as he responded, "We’re working in an industry chain, so obviously it’s not just me. I’m in charge of receiving; naturally, there are others responsible for selling, for transportation, and for online coordination."
