The Headline Queen: President Hawthorne is Her Die-Hard Fan!-Chapter 499: Very Angry
Jordan Yorke saw this and had to assure them, "Uncle, Auntie, you’ve seen my true feelings for Renee. I won’t give up on her. How about this, after Renee and I get married, I’ll buy another house and move out to live with her."
Mr. and Mrs. Raines waited for Jordan Yorke to make a decision.
But they never expected Jordan Yorke to say such a thing.
Isn’t this young man a bit too honest?
"Yorke, what do you mean by that? The house is yours. You’ve already set up Renee’s room, so why do you have to move out? If anyone should move, it’s that woman."
Renee was also somewhat shocked that Jordan Yorke would say such a thing.
She looked at Jordan Yorke with tearful eyes, "Are you, are you still going to give that woman the house? What is this supposed to mean? Do you plan to visit her whenever you remember?"
This was almost no different from Jordan Yorke keeping Penelope Thatcher.
Jordan Yorke felt his head pounding, regretting that he shouldn’t have lied to deceive Renee in the first place, knowing that neither Renee nor her parents would actually mind these things.
He really shouldn’t have done it.
There might still be time to confess now, right?
"Uncle, Auntie, actually, about that house..."
But before Jordan Yorke could finish, Renee interrupted him.
"Brother Yorke, I know you still feel indebted to her for saving your life, and you think you shouldn’t kick her out, but as my parents said, you’ve taken care of her for enough time, the life-saving debt is repaid..."
And saving his life? Without Penelope Thatcher, would Jordan Yorke have died? He was a wealthy second-generation heir. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
It’s possible that Penelope Thatcher recognized Jordan Yorke’s identity at that time and intentionally saved him to get close to him.
She could see right through such a manipulative woman.
Only Jordan Yorke was foolish enough to believe he owed that woman and wanted to give her a house as a reward.
Even though Jordan Yorke had money, it was just a house. She didn’t have to worry too much about it.
But just because she didn’t worry about it didn’t mean she would let her belongings be taken by a woman trying to steal her man.
Moreover, with this house, that woman could come up with countless excuses in the future to entangle with Jordan Yorke,
and she wasn’t going to let that woman succeed.
Renee then continued, "Maybe my parents’ request seems excessive to you, but Brother Yorke, please consider it from my parents’ perspective. They’re also worried about me being bullied. If you truly can’t part with that woman, then I’ll have to listen to my parents and end things with you. I don’t want my parents to worry so much at their age."
Things were going well, but because of Penelope Thatcher, now even Renee didn’t want to marry him anymore.
Jordan Yorke resented Penelope Thatcher even more, feeling she was a constant troublemaker, now even coming to ruin his relationship with Renee.
"Renee, listen to me, actually... actually..."
Seeing Jordan Yorke sweating anxiously, Renee was afraid of pushing him too hard and said, "Alright, Brother Yorke, don’t worry. I was just speaking out of anger earlier. I know you wouldn’t let me suffer. This matter has indeed put you in a difficult position, and I can give you some time."
Jordan Yorke finally breathed a sigh of relief, feeling that he must find an opportunity to explain everything to Renee clearly, and then quickly buy a house.
Before that, he needed to find Penelope Thatcher and quickly become the general manager, so that everything could proceed smoothly afterwards.
He didn’t think there was anything wrong with his plan, considering he and Renee almost broke up because of Penelope Thatcher. It wasn’t unreasonable for Penelope Thatcher to compensate him with a general manager position, right?
He even felt that asking for just a general manager position was too little.
But neither he nor Renee were greedy, so there was no need to ask for more.
When Jordan Yorke returned home, he found that Penelope Thatcher was also back.
He noticed Penelope Thatcher’s face was quite dark and asked nervously, "Penelope, what’s wrong?"
Penelope Thatcher asked, "Jordan Yorke, who did you bring into my home?"
He didn’t expect Penelope Thatcher to find out so quickly, and afraid she would be angry, he quickly explained, "It was a friend of mine. She insisted on seeing where I lived, and I couldn’t refuse, so I brought her in. She only stayed for a little while before leaving. Penelope, please don’t be angry, I won’t do it again next time..."
Penelope Thatcher was a bit frenzied, "She’s your friend, not mine. Why would you bring her into my home? When are you planning to move out?"
Jordan Yorke looked hurt, "Penelope, how can you say that? Doesn’t my friend mean she’s your friend too?"
Penelope Thatcher nearly sneered, "You, clean every inch of the house right now!"
Then she added, "And throw out that sofa! Hurry!"
Jordan Yorke protested, "Penelope, the sofa is still in good condition, why throw it away? I told you, you can’t live like this, you need to plan carefully..."
Here he goes again...
Penelope Thatcher was at her wit’s end, "I can throw away my own things, live my own life, why do you have so much to say?"
Jordan Yorke felt hurt and thought that Penelope Thatcher was becoming more unreasonable, "I’ll move out now, Penelope, don’t be angry..."
Penelope Thatcher originally thought she could relax at the apartment and do as she liked.
Little did she know that an outsider had entered, making her home feel odd and different.
But the worst was yet to come. She entered her bedroom wanting to lie down, only to find the bed in a mess, as if someone had fought on it, with a strange smell.
She felt utterly terrible, "Jordan Yorke!"
Jordan Yorke was moving the sofa when he heard her call and quickly ran in, "What’s wrong now?"
His tone was starting to sound impatient, feeling Penelope Thatcher was always making trouble out of nothing.
Penelope Thatcher pointed at the bed and asked, "What’s going on here?"
Jordan Yorke saw the mess on the bed and felt embarrassed.
He had spent the whole night with Renee on this bed, and forgotten to clean up when he left in the morning.
"It was too late last night, so my friend stayed over for the night. Please don’t be mad, I’ll clean it up right away..."
Penelope Thatcher’s face was beyond unpleasant, "Not only did you sleep in my bed, but you used my skincare products?"
Entering the dressing room, she found several sets of jewelry missing, "Stole my jewelry too? Jordan Yorke, is your friend a thief?"
Hearing Penelope Thatcher say this, Jordan Yorke was unhappy, how could Renee be a thief?
Just took a few sets of jewelry and skincare products?
Penelope had so much, she wouldn’t use it all anyway. Taking a few wouldn’t impact her, why make a fuss?
"Penelope, how can you accuse my friend of being a thief? She didn’t take anything from you. Maybe you just misplaced it somewhere."
Penelope Thatcher did have a habit of leaving things lying around and was unsure if things had been stolen.
But having a stranger enter her home and make a mess of it left her very displeased.
