Main Office
The atmosphere turned completely awkward after Ye Ming said some words and had his eyes darting around. He acted very nonchalant and treated the main office as some kind of joke.
While Ye Ming behaved completely out of place, Qing Lan panicked on the inside.
'Why is the Young Master behaving like this?' She feared for his reputation. Not to mention, she was confused by the term 'wassup'.
Before anyone else could speak a word, Ye Xuan raised an eyebrow and questioned. "Just what is that kind of behavior?"
He then continued, "Is that how you enter the room and greet your elders?"
"Yes." Ye Ming coolly responded. After saying so, he found an empty chair, sat down, and crossed his legs.
When Ye Xuan witnessed this kind of behavior, he nearly wanted to suppress him and teach him a lesson.
However, he sensed his wife on the side and quickly dispelled such a thought. He still recalled the punishment that lasted for more than a myriad of years.
To be unable to see his wife much in those days caused Ye Xuan to feel terrified.
As Ye Xuan subsequently subsided his anger, Ye Ming smirked coldly from the side.
'A whipped man sure is whipped. How dare you still try to act haughty in front of Mother?' He sneered inwardly. Ever since regaining his memories, he had browsed through them as to why his past self was so fixated on cultivation.
Apparently, it was all thanks to Ye Xuan's high expectations. Just because they could only ever have one child. And the fact that Ye Xuan won't ever betray his wife, he placed all hope on him.
Thanks to those so-called hopes, Ye Ming's past self was completely brainwashed that having such a low cultivation base was an embarrassment and disgrace to the family.
After all, both his parents were Beyond Origin Realm. By nature, it meant that their son must also be extremely talented.
However, reality was often the opposite of expectation.
Not only was his cultivation base ridiculously low, but it was also thanks to the numerous pills and herbs that he consumed.
"Ahem, son, these three are elders of the Ye Family. Ye Jingtao, Ye Zhongshan, and Ye Chang." Ye Qing Lei cleared her throat and introduced the elders in their order of seating.
She was positive that her son definitely didn't bother to recall the memory about them, so she took the lead in introducing them.
Despite knowing his willful nature since his return, Ye Qing Lei didn't mind the behavior. In fact, she was actually pleased and satisfied to see her son finally express many emotions.
At the very least, she could now discern whether he was happy, sad, angry, or any other expressive adjectives. It was way better than the past where he always had a straight face.
Had she been able to discern how suppressed and depressed her son was in the past, then she wouldn't have been separated from him for so long.
Meanwhile, Ye Ming nodded and understood her intention. He shifted his gaze and glanced at the three elders.
Ye Jiantao had long silver hair and a stern expression. He exuded an air of quiet authority—the most typical elder behavior ever.
Ye Zhongshan, on the other hand, was tall and had a broad shoulder. He had sharp features that mirrored his calm, analytical gaze, the type who always overthinks and barely offers much practical advice.
As for Ye Chang, he was clearly the oldest one yet he had a vibrant energy around him. He wore a robe adorned with intricate patterns that glimmered faintly under the light. Without a doubt, this elder was the type to care a lot about one's appearance.
It goes without saying that the most displeased with Ye Ming currently was none other than Ye Chang.
Sure enough, Ye Chang's eyes narrowed, his gaze locking at Ye Ming's posture in sitting.
"As the Young Master and heir of the Ye Clan, how could you possibly sit like that?" Ye Chang questioned.
"As the oldest elder, how could you possibly still have such an old mindset?" Ye Ming instantly replied with a question of his own.
Instantly, Ye Chang's face turned ugly as he frowned. Clearly, he had not anticipated Ye Ming to be that disrespectful to even question him back.
When Ye Xuan witnessed this scene, he was baffled and was about to say something, only to feel a slender and warm hand on his shoulder.
He held a bittersweet smile as he turned to his wife, and made some eye contact. From the gesture, Ye Xuan was asking if it was really alright to let Ye Ming continue the act.
In response, Ye Qing Lei simply gave him a death stare.
That stare alone was enough to let Ye Xuan give up on whatever he planned to do. He had no choice but to lean back on his chair, indicating that he wouldn't intervene.
Meanwhile, their brief action was noticed by Ye Zhongshan, who began to realize that Ye Clan was about to change.
To be honest, though, he was rather tired from constantly overseeing the massive Ye Clan. It was especially true when most of the younger generation was completely arrogant.
When a clan was already the strongest, there were no enemies, much less competitors. Based on that, the younger generation had no challenges and usually just flexed their background to get whatever they wanted.
Aside from the crimes of kidnapping, killing, or violating women, Ye Zhongshan chose to turn a blind eye. He was truly exhausted and too lazy to deal with their parents whenever he tried to impose punishment.
It would always be met with opposition, and Ye Xuan was someone who valued family ties. Therefore, he was never able to make a decision.
As for Ye Qing Lei, she never cared about the others unless it was about her son. No one would dare to cross her anyway.
Not even the elders present in the room dared to do so.
Ye Xuan valued family ties—this was true. But if things came to shove and Ye Qing Lei were to make her stance. Then without a doubt, Ye Xuan would side with her no matter what.
'Maybe the Ye Clan can finally undergo a cleansing with the current Young Master's state.' Ye Zhongshan thought to himself, calmly taking a sip from the teacup.
