Chapter 47: Restriction Seal

While Ye Xuan had his own plan with Ye Chang in the Clan Hall, back at Ye Ming’s office, two people returned.

"Qing Lan, do you know how to cook some food?" Ye Ming stretched his arms and asked. He didn’t even eat much at the Clan Hall because he could sense many eyes looking at him.

They weren’t obvious and were actually subtle. However, it was precisely because of their subtleness that made him uncomfortable.

Who could enjoy their food leisurely when they were constantly being watched subtly by others?

"What type of food does the Young Master wish to eat?" Qing Lan inquired softly.

"Any type is fine. Just make it delicious, but I do like fried chicken." Ye Ming responded.

"Understood, I shall get some phoenixes to slay and fry some golden crispy chicken." She clasped her hands and seemed excited to be able to show off her culinary skills.

Initially, Ye Ming was about to nod his head until he repeated her words.

"Wait a minute, phoenixes?" Alarmed, his eyes widened in disbelief. He turned to look at her and tilted his head, seemingly wondering if he had heard wrongly.

"Yes, phoenixes. You know—the type that undergoes nirvana and rebirth kind." She replied with a confused look.

"We have phoenixes and we use them as livestock?"

"Of course, phoenixes can never die. So long as one part of their body remains, they could rebirth and become anew."

"I-is that so?" Startled, Ye Ming was once again mind-blown by the information.

Dragons and Phoenixes were supposed to be sacred mythical creatures in any type of cultivation novel theme. Yet in his case, they appeared to be no different than livestock such as cows, sheep, pigs, etc.

"So shall I go ahead with it?" Qing Lan asked with an unsure tone.

"Yeah, you can." Ye Ming waved his hand and dismissed her. He needed some time to cool down with such information.

Meanwhile, Qing Lan gladly exited the room and already retrieved a butcher knife filled with powerful energy.

As much as Ye Ming wanted to ask what kind of energy was in that knife, he decided against it.

"Phoenix meat is probably more delicious than regular chicken, right?" He murmured curiously. "Then what about dragon’s meat? I’ve heard they are very nutritious and healthy for one’s body."

THUD!

Amidst his murmuring, he suddenly heard someone or something plopped to the ground. Instantly, he turned around, only to notice the Elder Dragon was lying on the ground with a frightened expression.

Without a doubt, he definitely overheard Ye Ming discussing dragon’s meat.

"Get your sorry ass up and stop being dramatic." Ye Ming rolled his eyes and snorted. "Who wants to eat your meat? A disgusting old man who knows no shame."

Despite being insulted, Elder Dragon’s face was full of smiles upon realizing Ye Ming had no intention of eating him.

After all, his body part could easily be chopped and regrow in a matter of seconds. In other words, if Ye Ming desired dragon meat. Then he would be repeatedly chopped up to provide the ingredients and become no different than livestock.

"Haha, this Old Bone has been trapped beneath the pool for too long." Elder Dragon laughed awkwardly.

"What are you even doing here? I thought you were going to roam around." Ye Ming raised an eyebrow. He had already permitted the latter to roam around to release some of his stress.

And he was certain the Elder Dragon was eager to leave the world and venture to some other world. After all, he kept clamoring about wanting to meet with his old flames.

Upon hearing the question, the Elder Dragon’s face turned ashen white.

"Although the Young Master permitted me, I still have the restriction in place." Elder Dragon suddenly revealed and explained how he had a restriction seal that automatically teleported him back to the pool if he went too far from the radar.

A restriction seal?

Ye Ming scratched his head, clearly not expecting him to be that restricted.

"Well, too bad so sad then." He shrugged. It wasn’t him who restricted him anyway.

Naturally, the Elder Dragon had an urge to give him a good punch to the face.

’Seriously? Shouldn’t you be removing the restriction to make up for your mistake? I legit just flew away and got knocked back here.’ He exclaimed inwardly.

Alas, he couldn’t even release his frustration when his greatest fear suddenly appeared in the room.

Like a majestic being, the Elder Dragon’s body trembled upon seeing Ye Qing Lei—the person who caused him to feel like a prisoner.

"Why are you here, Longzu?" Confused, Ye Qing Lei was surprised by his presence. "I thought my son granted you permission to go to other worlds."

The Elder Dragon flashed a bittersweet smile. He didn’t know whether or not to bring up the topic.

Luckily for him though, Ye Ming wasn’t that heartless and explained the situation.

Since he did promise to give the Elder Dragon some freedom for the moment, he wouldn’t renege on it. The only reason why he shrugged his shoulders earlier was due to laziness.

However, now that his Mother appeared at his office, it was just a few sentences of explanation to pass along.

"Ahh, the restriction seal." Ye Qing Lei snapped her fingers, and soon, the Elder Dragon felt a part of him being freed.

"Well, go on then. I’ll give my son the command to call for your return, so until then, you have all the time." She waved her hand as a form of dismissal.

The Elder Dragon’s eyes lit up and bow his head in gratitude.

"Thank you, Madam and Young Master." He said before making a swooshing sound. He vanished at the speed of light, clearly eager to leave immediately.

Sometime later, Ye Qing Lei smiled sweetly at Ye Ming.

"I know your maid went to cook you some phoenix meal, so this is a perfect time to begin your alchemy lesson." She calmly said.

’Ah crap, I should have left like Old Bone did.’ Feeling trapped in a cage, Ye Ming wanted to flee.
