The Heavenly Dao System-Chapter 79: Registration?
"Alright, save your intention for later." Ye Ming yawned and found the plotline quite boring.
If this Ling Qiwei was that concern of her Junior Sister, then why the hell was Tao Wang alone with the other two Senior Brothers in the first place?
Weird! Weird!
Ling Qiwei’s expression turned ugly slightly upon hearing a mere Qi Refinement Realm acting so arrogant.
However, she didn’t get a chance to speak when Tao Wang swiftly interrupted and nodded in agreement.
At the same time, Tao Wang sent a mental transmission to Ling Qiwei, warning her to beware of Ye Ming.
As for the details, she would explain later on.
"The Fushang Territory is just up ahead... Daoist." Tao Wang gestured hand and said awkwardly, having realized she still didn’t know his name.
"Just call me Dao Lord." Ye Ming said, finding this alias to be quite suitable for him. After all, he was the one in control of the Heavenly Dao. He didn’t care about others knowing his real name, but why would he reveal it for naught?
To create a sense of mysterious and enjoy his time in this world, having an alias was the best.
Little did Ye Ming know, that using such an alias was tantamount to being offensive to the Heavenly Dao.
Dao Lord?
Was that trying to say he was the Heavenly Dao Lord?
Obviously, these two didn’t know about Ye Ming’s true identity, but Tao Wang also didn’t dare to offend him either.
In the end, she simply nodded her head and began to guide Ye Ming.
"Are you sure this person isn’t brain dead?" Ling Qiwei sent a mental transmission to Tao Wang and asked in concern.
"I don’t know, but he certainly isn’t dumb. It’s more like he’s very nonchalant and indifferent to things." Tao Wang responded.
As they continued to head toward Fushang Territory, Ling Qiwei’s other two companions also joined in. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
Their expression were naturally curious by Ye Ming’s presence, but after being informed slightly. They held a confused and dazed expression.
Nevertheless, they didn’t dare to ask any further or interact with him.
After all, Ye Ming held an aloof aura that seemed to distance him from others naturally.
...
"All cultivators who wish to enter the Fushang Territory. Please line up in an orderly fashion and refrain from skipping the line." A cultivator all the way at the front dressed in some uniform shouted loudly for all to hear.
From afar, Tao Wang quickly explained the situation to Ye Ming, who was rather clueless.
"The cultivator at the front is an appointed person by the two major factions. Since the Fushang Territory is a bustling region now, he is tasked to collect entry fees and ensure public order at the gate to prevent troubles."
"I see..." Ye Ming smirked coldly and understood the arrangement. On the surface, it looked like the two major factions wanted peace and public order. But secretly, it was just corruption and earning money into their deep pocket.
Of course, Ye Ming doubted all these cultivators were gullible to not understand the concept. They simply turned a blind eye and kept silent because they couldn’t afford to offend a Soul Transformation Realm cultivator.
As he gazed at the long line, Ye Ming spotted a few people dressed in a luxurious manner directly skipping the line.
Upon arriving at the front, the same cultivator who shouted earlier flashed an amiable smile as he cupped his fist toward them.
In response, those groups of people similarly returned the gesture and entered the Fushang Territory without paying a single spirit stone.
Spirit stone was still the common currency, albeit with many different grades that determined its value.
Just when Ye Ming was distracted, he heard Tao Wang calling to him to start lining up.
"The line is quite short, so we are lucky. We should be in the city after 10-15 minutes." Tao Wang heaved a sigh of relief, clearly afraid that he might be displeased if he had to wait any longer.
But to her dismay, Ye Ming rolled his eyes and ignored her suggestion.
Line up?
Rules?
What kind of nonsense was that?
The only rule he got was his Mother forcing a lecture on him.
Nobody else could restrain him, much less these cultivators who looked down on others but curry to those with influential backgrounds.
When Tao Wang noticed Ye Ming had ignored her and even began to advance straight to the line, her face turned pale.
"Dao Lord, please don’t be rash." Without hesitation, Tao Wang had to call him by his alias and pleaded. "Those who entered early are those from the Holy Sect. They are privileged because they are Core Disciples."
"Hmm, so are you not in a Holy Sect?" Ye Ming mused. He could tell from her uniform was somewhat similar to Ling Qiwei’s uniform. Moreover, their form of address made it pretty clear to him that they should belong to the same sect.
"Yes, I’m also from the Holy Sect, but I’m only an Inner Disciple." She explained with a bitter tone. There were some Inner Disciples who also got the privilege, but that was mainly because they had backgrounds and connections.
And she continued, "Dao Lord is a first time visitor to Fushang Territory, so you must pay a fee to get registered. Fret not though, I’ll gladly pay the fee on your behalf because you saved my life."
Although Tao Wang offered to pay, she was certain that he didn’t lack any money. The beast pill he had taken out from earlier was enough to drown her.
"Just stand back and stop." Ye Ming waved his hand dismissively. "I despise those who wish to stop my action repeatedly."
Not even Qing Lan would continue to pester him or urge him otherwise when he decided on a matter. She knew where the limit was, and Ye Ming understood that being warned occasionally wasn’t bad.
However, his generosity and leniency were only toward those he cared about.
Tao Wang frowned a bit and still wanted to stop him until her Senior Sister Ling Qiwei grabbed her arm.
She then shook her head, seemingly indicating to just let Ye Ming go ahead.
"Once he realized his action was ludicrous and faced a setback, he would naturally learn." Ling Qiwei sent a mental transmission to her.
"Senior Sister Qiwei is mistaken." Tao Wang exhaled deeply, her eyes darting to Ye Ming who had already walked ahead without caring about her.
"I’m only afraid that the cultivator in front would suffer miserably." She continued, feeling that Ye Ming was extremely mysterious and unfathomable. Her gut feelings were screaming at her that shit was about to go down once Ye Ming make a move.
Ling Qiwei was starting to wonder if her Junior Sister had been bewitched. Her eyes widened in shock at her illogical confidence in a Qi Refinement Realm cultivator.
Nevertheless, she must admit that Tao Wang’s concern had roused her curiosity.
Not to mention her and her other two companions, even those who were on the line waiting to be addressed start to look at Ye Ming in bewilderment.
"A Qi Refinement Realm cultivator made it here?"
"What is he trying to achieve? Doesn’t he know that you need to line up?"
"Hah, a good show is about to befall. I wonder how many lives this Qi Refinement Realm cultivator has to make it this far and then provoke the authority here."
Anyone with some information knew the authority in the Fushang Territory was unquestionable. Even those from the Holy Sect didn’t dare to act haughty within the city and needed to maintain their behavior.
Amidst the gossiping, the cultivator in charge looked at Ye Ming with a slightly displeased expression.
However, he took it as Ye Ming being ignorant of the rule. To have made it this far with such a low realm, the cultivator decided to be lenient.
"Halt your steps, young man." The cultivator raised his hand and said to Ye Ming.
"I can tell you’re new here, so I shall forgive your ignorance. You’ll need to line up and be registered to enter the city. This isn’t to investigate you or anything, but to make sure you are recorded in the city. Even if you’re a criminal, we won’t persecute you or anything as long as you follow the city’s rules." He continued, explaining the circumstances.
What he said was an ironclad rule within the Fushang Territory.
Regardless of one’s past or conduct outside the city, no one else was allowed to make a move in the city unless they broke the joint rules established by the Soul Transformation Realm cultivators.
Of course, that didn’t mean absolute protection. Once the cultivator left the Fushang Territory perimeter, their lives were on their own.
Meanwhile, Ye Ming was amused by the cultivator’s explanation.
"Registration? I doubt there’s a need for that." He chuckled and declared. "I’m the Dao Lord, and my only identity that you need to know is my strength is unfathomable."
