Chapter 89: Gong Shu

Entering the City Hall, Ye Ming could easily sense and detect multiple guards scattered everywhere.

Some were stationed in the open while some were hiding discreetly.

Most of the guards were around the Core Formation realm, with a few being in the Nascent Soul realm. To summarize, they were just weaklings in Ye Ming’s eyes.

They posed 0 danger to him and he quickly lost interest in the guards.

"Be careful not to enter some restricted areas and be labeled as an intruder." Lin Loi warned solemnly.

"Oh, so bypassing the city’s formation and ignoring your city’s entrance regulation isn’t considered an intruder?" Ye Ming mused.

"Good to know. I shall keep that in mind."

"Stop twisting my words."

"Twisting your words? How could words be twisted? Words aren’t even physical substances that could be touched."

"..."

Lin Loi didn’t know why, but she had a feeling that Ye Ming constantly wanted to get on her nerves so that she would commit an offense to give him an excuse for something.

Even though he had discovered her identity already, he didn’t expose her outright and even treated her like a courtesan.

He was so close to crossing her bottom line, but before he did so, he suddenly exposed her identity. It was as if he was taunting her that she got played and daring her to react fiercely.

’The information mentioned that he’s not aggressive or the type to provoke others. That clown Tang Han was thrashed and ended up crippled because he offended this Dao Lord first. This can’t be a coincidence.’ Lin Loi thought to herself.

Aside from Tang Han’s incident, she also learned that Piao Gan had interacted with Ye Ming despite using a not-so-friendly tone. Nevertheless, Piao Gan remained unscathed and Ye Ming didn’t show any intent of getting revenge on him. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

Based on these clues, she speculated Ye Ming was the carefree and nonchalant type. The type that operated on a principle that unless you offend him, he wouldn’t care about your presence.

As Lin Loi continued to walk through many corridors, she was greeted by soldiers who were stationed. When their eyes landed on Ye Ming, they were dumbfounded.

Nevertheless, they kept their heads low and remained in their pose without gossiping whatsoever. They were trained to always be ready to meet any unexpected incidents.

Moreover, they noticed Ye Ming—a Qi Refinement realm was being escorted by their City Lord?

What did that mean?

Even a fool could tell he was of special identity.

Soon, the two of them arrived at a large door without any hiccups.

"Stay outside and stand guard, Shan Tung." Lin Loi commanded.

"Yes, City Lord." Shan Tung cupped his fists and obliged the command.

Besides standing guard, there was an additional layer of meaning contained in Lin Loi’s command. It was to prevent any possible eavesdroppers and ensure the guards would keep quiet about today’s incident.

The matter of Ye Ming bypassing the formation had already been kept a tight lid. However, there were bound to be some rotten apples who might leak the news.

To prevent that matter, nearly all those with background were held in private rooms, waiting for their elders to vouch for them. As for those with no background, they were detained and forced to take an oath vow to keep the secret to themselves.

Such a matter naturally escalated the situation, resulting in some rebelling and trying to flee.

In the end, those who attempted to flee were eliminated, with those who had some background in detainment.

After all, not everyone who had a background would comply with such a ridiculous request.

So many things occurred behind the scenes, but Ye Ming remained ignorant of the matter. Or to be more precise, he didn’t care about the disasters he caused.

This was just how one acts when they were at the top!

Ye Ming had suffered at the bottom of the pyramid for a long time, so now it was time to enjoy his moment thoroughly.

Sometime later, the large door opened up and Lin Loi quickly greeted her two Masters.

"Master Shu and Master Cheng!"

Mo Cheng nodded his head and smiled amiably upon seeing his disciple. Mo Cheng was at the 7th level of Soul Transformation Realm and was the backer of Heaven’s Pardon Faction.

Meanwhile, Gong Shu smiled slightly at her arrival. Gong Shu was similarly at the 7th level of the Soul Transformation Realm and the backer of Tianwu Faction. Additionally, Gong Shu also had another disciple—the catalyst of the slaughtering, Tian Suyin.

Because Gong Shu had two disciples in name, Lin Loi was more prone toward Mo Cheng, who only had her as his only disciple.

Nevertheless, Lin Loi still made sure to pay respect without discrimination.

"Is this the young man who managed to bypass the formation set up by us and Au Shuchang?" Mo Cheng turned his attention to Ye Ming and asked.

"Yes, that is correct." Lin Loi confirmed the fact.

Au Shuchang was the neutral Soul Transformation Realm who specialized in formation.

The other Soul Transformation cultivators only supplied their spiritual qi to assist with the creation of the formation. Only Au Shuchang was the main designer and creator, so Mo Cheng mentioned him specifically.

While Mo Cheng was staring at Ye Ming, seemingly curious about his background and identity, Gong Shu’s expression turned complicated.

He pinched his fingers a few times and without any surprise, he suddenly coughed up a mouthful of blood. The blood splattered on the ground as his face turned pale.

"Daoist Shu?" Startled, Mo Cheng didn’t expect his friend to suddenly cough up blood.

Even though the two of them hailed from different factions, their friendships remained the same. So naturally, Mo Cheng became alert and thought there was an attacker.

He was ready to shield Gong Shu, but then, the only outsider here was Ye Ming.

His eyes then narrowed coldly and darted to Ye Ming. "Did you attack Daoist Shu without any warning?"

"What do you think?" Ye Ming rolled his eyes and wondered if Mo Cheng was equally retarded as Tang Han.
